Description

Calibrate left and right joysticks separately. Center and edge calibrations may affect each other, so please repeat alternation for best results. Press K1, wait for the LED to flash continuously, then rotate the joystick in a circle at least three times. Press K1 again to complete calibration. Move the joystick to the center and press K2 simultaneously. Follow the system prompts in ASUS's Armoury Crate to complete the calibration, then calibrate the other joystick in the same way. These thumbsticks are so much better than the original thumbsticks. They are very easy to install and are configurable. It is the single biggest upgrade you can make to your ROG Ally X. Love HandheldDIY products and will be purchasing from them again.

These are a game-changer, and it makes me wonder why more handhelds aren’t shipped with Hall Effect joysticks by default. They’re incredibly precise (make sure to lower the dead zones as much as possible) and feel much smoother/snappier to use. I did have issues with them at first - both joysticks were unable to be centered regardless of calibration - but customer service rectified the issue incredibly quickly. Upon reaching out to them, I just had to provide and address and they immediately sent a replacement free of charge. The replacements work perfectly! Overall, they’re a very worthwhile upgrade, and I highly recommend these over other options due to the fantastic customer service. ... show more

Calibration on SteamOS (No Windows/Armoury Crate) Hardware buttons on the module — Button 1 re-centers, Button 2 maps full range. Zero software dependency. gamepad-tool.thepocketlab.com — visual axis sweep verification in Desktop Mode via Chromium. Steam Input — set inner deadzone to 2–3% in Game Mode. Ignore any guide mentioning Armoury Crate or thumbstick_cal — irrelevant on SteamOS. Performance Rock-solid center, zero drift, clean diagonals.     • Great upgrade over the original with a small issue.
Best thing I have invested in by far for my Ally X. It super easy to install and configure. Plus there is a lot of YouTube videos that help you install this. However, I am starting to see a small noise issue. When I grad my thumb stick all the way to left or right and let go, the joystick will return to the center with a rattling noise. I don't know if that is normallyz but only happenens for left stick, while my right stick doesn't make that rattling sound. So keep that in the back of your head.     • These are great but a little tricky to set up.
These are great replacements for your Rog Ally X. They can be a little intimidating if you're not familiar with them. You will need to watch some instruction videos on it. My tip would be make sure that you don't over tighten, but get it tight enough to where it stays in place. Then the calibration process you just have to have patience for it. I think I remember the right stick only taking 1 minute to calibrate. But my left stick I had problems with and I think it took like 15 or 20 minutes to calibrate correctly. I will say that the r3 and l3 buttons where you click these in to activate those, does feel like you have to press harder compared to the originals. I would have liked to see them be a little easier to press but at the same time, you're not going to accidentally press them in. When they are set up correctly, they feel more precise and they feel more accurate. ... show more

    • A great alternative to stock Ally X joysticks
I've heard about these TMR sticks for a while, but only recently bought me a pair. Installation was relatively smooth for me, about 30 minutes of my time, and calibrating them was easier than I thought. There are instructions and an installation video that you can follow if it seems daunting, just take your time and don't rush. One thing I did notice is that the right stick makes a slight noise whenever I move the stick towards the top left all the way, but during normal play it never really pops up.
