Top Amazon Reviews

🚀 Abunda's Overview

This is our summary and key points to consider based on customer reviews.

The Vive Tracker is generally well received for significantly increasing the battery life of VR sets, up to 10 hours as advertised, and being relatively easy to set up. There exist some complaints regarding the quality of its straps and its USB ports. While it effectively extends playtime, users have reported issues with the fragility of the Micro USB to USB-C adapters and the adapters breaking easily. However, the company has reportedly addressed this in recent versions.

Pros

  • 😊 Extends battery life of VR sets significantly.
  • 😀 Setup is generally easy.
  • 😎 Touts compatibility for all adaptations of VR experiences.
  • 😍 The company has made adjustments to improve earlier issues.

Cons

  • 😞 Straps and USB ports are reported to be of subpar quality.
  • 😠 Adapters are very fragile and tend to break easily.
  • 😧 There are some inconsistencies between product information on the box and web page.
  • 😕 Additional options required such as third-party cables and dongles, possibly driving up the cost.

Should I Buy It?

If you are heavily into VR and regularly have long gaming sessions, this product will enhance your experience. Just be aware and ready to handle the delicate parts with care, possibly invest in third-party cables or dongles for a more durable setup.

  • Without a Hitch
Perfect! Set up was a learning process because I’ve never had laser tracking before but once everything was set up it worked without a hitch I have smaller ankles and a wider hips but the straps are customizable enough to where I can wear these comfortably without issue.

  • Comfortable and good battery life
I purchased these to use with my Vive 3.0 trackers. They're comfortable to wear and the battery supports a charge that can charge my trackers for 3 days more-or-less. Of course, that totally depends on how much use your trackers get, but I've used mine for upwards of 8 hours a day and never ran out of charge in the battery pack. I'll usually charge my trackers and my battery pack after two days of use at the latest. If you plan on strapping these to your feet you might need to make modifications to make them more like a sandal, or search for an alternate product. They are just a single strap and do not have any way to wrap them around the back of your feet so they don't slide off. Wearing them with shoes would probably help, but I don't have experience using them with shoes. I use mine on my ankles and they stay in place for me. Just to be clear, the battery life of my trackers being 3 days more-or-less is based on ~8 hours of use with the trackers internal battery and then plugging them into the battery packs. ~7 hours Vive 3.0 trackers + ~20 hours per battery pack. ... show more

  • Best investment.
If you are someone that is on VR for a lot of time I recommend these. I personally use them for VRchat and they last me the whole day, sometimes until the next day. My only gripe is that you can't remove the battery that's inside the belt, but I don't see it as a deal breaker, it's just unfortunate. If worse comes to worse, you can always purchase their separate batteries for $20 and are compatible with the older trackstraps that Rebuff sells without the batteries. I even bet they are compatible with other straps as well. ... show more

  • Not perfect but its the best option for Vive tracker-based FBT.
The only other option is to not have the extended battery life... or to tape a battery of your own to a strap you like. If you want a professional grade, non-DIY solution, this is the only option. What it helps with: It gives trackers extra battery life. It'll also work for a GoPro, though, if you can mount it to the 1/4 screw. These straps are also straps, so they help with strapping things, specifically trackers, to your body. You can also use them for strapping something to a large pole or plank, but they will not work for anything small, like a carbon fiber maul stick. What I found a little disappointing: The straps themselves are a little uncomfortable compared to my old straps. I bought a $30 bundle of straps for my trackers which didn't have the extra batteries in them. They were incredibly comfortable. These battery-filled straps are nowhere near the same quality as those other straps and I can tell the difference right away. I find myself having a hard time ignoring the extra weight on my ankle straps, too. These batteries are very lightweight, but I guess every tiny bit of weight is noticeable when you're going to wear it for a long time. The USB ports of the batteries on these straps are also an extremely tight fit. I have some trouble getting 2 cords next to each other so I can charge the battery and the tracker at the same time and not require an additional charge cable to the wall. It works but it could be a lot easier to manage. Overall opinion: Get it. It's your only semi-decent option if you want to do full body tracking for extended periods of time. It also really does add a lot of time to your trackers. Good product at a somewhat expensive but ultimately necessary price. Worth it. ... show more

  • Still works after 5 years and 5,000hrs.
I bought these in 2020, 5 years and 5000hrs of VR later they are still working great!

  • Velco wore out after just a month or 2, and battery stopped working
The media could not be loaded. This product is honestly garbage, and their customer support won't even message you back. Velcro wore out after just a month or 2 of daily use. And then the battery on one of them lit up purple and wouldn't turn off while simultaneously not charging my Vive 3.0's anymore. I recommend not buying this product unless you have some way to charge your hand controllers. If your hand controllers die then you're left without full body tracking anyeay. Might as well buy a ton of fast charge cables and outlets and time an hour break when they're low. Edit: a week or 2 later the other battery stopped working as well. It just flat out won't charge. Now I only have my right foot battery working. Still no contact from the creator on their main site either. ... show more
