  • A Solid Upgrade for Sim Racing Enthusiasts - Next Level Racing Wheel Stand 2.0 Review
Style: Stand
Impressive Build Quality (★★★★★): The robust steel frame and reinforced brackets give this stand an unmistakable solid feel. It effortlessly handled the direct drive from my fanatec DD in all the games I tested it with, no flexing or bowing, a seriously sturdy design that will not give up on you. Adaptable to Every Setup (★★★★★): What truly sets this stand apart is its adaptability. Supporting a wide array of racing wheels, pedals, and shifters (even changing to RHD), it brings a level of customization that you just don't get with cheaper alternatives. The quick-release mechanism makes adjustments a breeze, alot of comments say its hard to change the configuration for other users but i found it to be reasonable considering the build quality. Compact Yet Stable Design (★★★★☆): The compact and foldable design is a godsend for those with limited space (Im in a small apartment). When not in use, it folds neatly away without compromising stability during races. It strikes the perfect balance between space efficiency and rock-solid stability. 1 star off for the weight, but moving it a couple of feet will not be an issue even fully loaded with all of your sim gear, the foldability and low profile is not compromised by the weight dont let that be a turn off for you. Effortless Assembly (★★★★★): Setting up the Wheel Stand 2.0 was a surprisingly pleasant experience. The clear instructions and included tools made assembly straightforward, minimizing the time between unboxing and diving into racing, there were no struggles or pain points. Just make sure you build the shifter holder correctly i believe its set up for RHD!! In conclusion, the Next Level Racing Wheel Stand 2.0 is not just a stand; it's an investment into a better sim racing experience. Its impressive build quality, adaptability, space-efficient design, enhanced stability, and user-friendly assembly make it a standout choice for enthusiasts - both new and old to the world of sim racing. definitely pick this sup if you are space limited, and even if you are not - this is well worth the investment as you can always upgrade to the full cockpit which was its greatest selling point to me in the future! ... show more

  • Easy To Assemble, Super Solid
Style: Stand
This stand was easy to assemble and super solid. Weight wise, it's as heavy as gym exercise equipment. I had to make room to slide it away from the PC when not in use. I love that this stand has a tray to lock in the wheels of my office chair! I feel like I get the immersion of being in a full cockpit without actually having a full cockpit. I may later upgrade to a full cockpit setup, but this stand is perfect for my setup and works great with Direct Drive! I picked up a Moza R9 v2 for my wheel base, and am using Logitech G Pro pedals mounted on the stand. You can put the shifter mount on whatever side you like; I prefer mine on the right. I opted for the Thrustmaster TH8A shifter. If you want a solid stand that keeps you locked in similar to a cockpit, this is the stand for you! Also, the stand is upgradable to a cockpit; however the Next Level Gaming website seems a little vague about where to find the parts for the upgrade. Either way, I'm impressed by the quality and stability of this stand. I feel like I have a strong entry into the world of sim racing thanks to this stand and the entry to mid range parts I've acquired. ... show more

  • Great for Direct Drive
Style: Stand
I combined this with an 8NM Fanatec wheel, shifter, and handbrake. It's been working great. I also put some lockable casters on the bottom to help move it around (purchased separately on Amazon). As others have said, it is a bit heavy so the casters really help, and once locked, the whole unit is solid. It's easy to assemble and it's a bonus that it folds up. It's not super small when folded but if you remove the wheel and the shifter it helps it fit into a medium to large closet (you can leave the wheel base on though). Very impressed with the Wheel Stand 2.0 ... show more

  • Super sturdy, but it isn’t as flexible as you might like
Style: Stand
Wheel stands are a popular option for sim racers that value ease of adjustment, portability, and value over sturdiness and ultimate realism that heavy stationary cockpits offer. While the Next Level Racing Wheel Stand 2.0 is a superb and affordable mounting option for anything out there, you do give up plenty of what makes wheel stands so popular. I bought this with a Fanatec DD Pro with ClubSport Load Cell Pedals, as an upgrade from a Thrustmaster T300 RSGT on a Wheel Stand Pro. That previous setup was easily portable and easily adjustable to whatever chair I or anyone else wanted to use. The thing to understand about this “wheel stand” is that, effectively, this is just the front half of one of NLR’s cockpits, sans the seat and seat brace. That isn’t necessarily a bad thing, but you do need to know this going in. Because of this, this stand is designed with a reclined cockpit-style seat in mind. If you want to drive seated straight up, that’s not really going to work with this stand, as it simply isn’t designed to be adjusted with that use case in mind. Thankfully, I have an old office chair that can safely lock in a reclined position. Also, making height adjustments to the wheel or pedals means removing four bolts for each, meaning that you can’t make quick adjustments for people who are shorter than you who want to try it out or share the rig. The stand is easy to build and ridiculously sturdy, perhaps too sturdy for most people. Aside from a tiny bit of flex up and down with the top wheel plate, this thing won’t budge or bend, ever. While that is great, it comes at a cost. For a “wheel stand,” this thing is too heavy for its own good. There’s simply too much metal being used here for most people’s setups, and it compromises how portable this “wheel stand” is. I’m using a pretty hefty wheel and set of pedals, and there isn’t even a hint of any movement at all, aside from a suspiciously weaker top wheel mounting plate, which is still quite solid. This thing weighs 50 pounds before any equipment is mounted. It really seems to me like they could’ve trimmed 10-15 pounds from the lower half of the stand with little issue. While I can lift it without much issue, plenty of people will have issues, and even if you are strong, it’s heavy and unwieldy enough that you won’t want to move it much. As long as you know that you’re getting something that’s more like the front half of a proper cockpit than an easily portable wheel stand, this thing is absolutely fantastic and feels like it will probably last a lifetime. However, if the portability and flexibility of a wheel stand are crucial, you might be better looking elsewhere. ... show more
