  • It's ok
Style: Red
This thing is ok, has a lot of games, a ton that I've never heard of and some are just incredibly hard to play on the small screen. It's not high quality by any means but at this price you can't expect more than what you get, kind of a bummer it only comes with rca output but again at this price it is what it is. When I went to charge it for the first time, not even pressing hard at all, the charge port broke and fell inside of it. That being said, the seller promptly sent me a new one and so far I haven't had the same issue. For the price it's ok and the seller was awesome ... show more

  • Retro old school gaming fun!
Style: Blue
I was looking for a low cost portable gaming system for my 6 year old that didn’t require wifi and this ended up being perfect. It’s old school, comes with a battery (like the older cell phone style battery) that connects to the inside of the backside of the gaming device. Came with a charging cord (block for outlet not included) to charge it. It’s very simple, super easy to navigate and has more games then I’d ever know what to do with. I love that it keeps my son off the internet and safe from social media while still allowing him to have fun playing video games. I deducted a star because more often than I’d like, the screen will go black almost like it freezes, when we click on a game to play and we have to turn it off and back on to try again. The battery life is kinda short, it’s not like the newer age batteries that last a long time but you can play on it while it’s charging so it’s not a big deal for us personally. ... show more

  • Very fun, not a Gameboy tho
Style: Red
I love having all the old Nintendo and Atari games on a little light weight device. It's not really 400 game tho, probably closer to 200 because some games are repeated on the list. And about 2/3 of the 200 games are mostly versions you never heard of but they're not all bad. But quality is like playing on a Gameboy color. It feels cheaply made but haven't had any issues yet. It also has a rechargable battery so when it dies you just plug it in. No more changing AA batteries once a week. Lol ... show more

  • Ton's of retro games to choose from.
Style: Blue
I wanted to play some games from my youth and this was a perfect way to not spend all that much but still get the amount of playing in that I wanted. The only issue I had was the game I really wanted to play about an Italian Plumber worked but it plays at double speed for some odd reason. You can still play the levels but you better be quick about it or the time will run out. Not sure why that is or if it could be changed but it's the reason for the slightly lower score. Other then that it worked just fine. ... show more

  • Excactly what I wanted- utter garbage!
Style: Blue
If you're in the retro gaming scene, you have undoubtedly come across the grand assortment of semi-legal emulation devices allowing you to have hundreds of retro titles at your fingertips. Some, like Anbernic & Miyoo, are quality devices showcasing some of the best games of yesteryear. And some are horrific abominations, the cheapest parts possible slapped together with the trashy romhacks of the Dendy lineup to scam cash from the nostalgic. This is VERY much the latter. And I LOVE it. I've always been curious about these things & just how bad they are, & what these terrible hacks are like. And now I know! The plastic this is made of feels like it'll snap if you look at it funny. The second player controller (which is ONLY for second player) is mushy, & you can feel the dead shift as you push buttons. Not that the built-in controls are much better. The screen is off color & needs to be held at an angle to be seen right. The cable to connect to a TV is terribly short- be ready to stand a foot from your screen! And the games... oh golly, the GAMES. The sound is all wrong- NES Super Mario is so sped up you'll think you're about to run out of time. Ever want to see Chip & Dale go on a shooting spree- try Chip & Dale 3 (which is actually a sprite hacked Heavy Barrel)! Please do not let the apparent quality of my screenshots fool you- my retrotink 5X is doing all the heavy lifting. And there's the trick of it. If you know what a Retrotink 5X even is, then you just might find this piece of junk endearing. The kind of thing you keep on the side when you invite your buddies for game night. As a punishment device- "whoever loses at Mario Kart has to play the Trash Boy!" If that's you- consider this, if it's cheap enough. Becuase the device itself is cheap enough. But if you're just looking for a way to relive your favorite games from your childhood? Please, PLEASE- go find something else. You can do so much better. (Bonus points for rechargeable battery. But immediately lose them for only composite out to TV.) ... show more

  • The game system is ok with few issues in my opinion
Style: Blue
I like this handheld game system but it has a few issues. I wish the game controller would work as player one when not playing 2 player games. The av cable is short making you have to sit close to the TV. Also the tv screen tends to go black but you can hear the sound. Not easy to play 2 player games because both people have to sit close to the TV. I mostly use this handheld vs on the tv. The battery lasts about 2-2.5 hr. It does have a lot of duplicate games. ... show more

  • Brings back memories in full 8 bit glory
Style: Red
I really wasn't expecting much from this handheld game console given the low price and I must say I was pleasantly surprised by how good it is. That's all relative of course, it can't hold a candle to modern day consoles and games but that's not the reason why you'd get this anyway. There are 400 games in all, I can't say I've played them all in my childhood but the few familiar names I tried sure bring back a lot of memories with authentic game play. My only complaint is the list of games is sorted in some totally incomprehensible order, just why? The controls are responsive and I didn't experience false presses or double presses. It supports 1 and 2 player modes, the low res 3 inch screen works well with the 8 bit graphics and the sound really takes you back. It even supports outputting through old school component cables but I would avoid hooking it up to LCD/LED TVs unless you want to be reminded just how bad they looked, unless you happen to have a small CRT lying around. I usually would subtract one star for recent electronics still shipping with micro-USB ports, but in this case I'm willing to give it a pass for the nostalgia. ... show more
