Nice little boat winch but not heavy duty. The steel cable wire was a little difficult to wind and unwind without making a total mess of the cable. The hook and cable are strong and I believe it has a 800lb capacity. The crank is nice and holds the cable tightly in place when turning. Releasing the cable mechanism is a little tricky when under pressure from the cable. The winch frame comes with slots to make mounting it easy and it's necessary for proper use.

Don't buy this winch, it's galvanized metal and the teeth are already wearing causing skipping. I purchased this as a temporary fix for a hay dolly. My hay rolls are only 800lbs so this should be able to handle them with no problem. The cable came with pinches in it already, there is way too much cable and it doesn't all roll up properly. In addition, the teeth are wearing and the safety catch has flipped over on me twice now. I had to take that piece apart and reset it so I could continue using the winch in the moment. Overall poor value for what you pay.
