Great value! This kit has everything I need to get started. I wanted something I could make repairs to clothing with like hems and such. I’ll be able to stitch with the handheld and it comes with all kinds of threads and needles. Plus the compact box stores all of it in and is beautiful.

Time spent with item before review: 14 hours Note: I’ve been a manual (by hand) seamster for around thirty years (since I was eight). I have handmade all manner of items for use and wear, as a hobby. Pros: * easy to use * comes with so much thread (it’s a good thing) * comes with decent fabric scissors * comes with both long and short bobbin spindle. I was able to use full sized thread bobbin. * works decently well (at least enough to make repairs) Cons: * some of the included items are very low quality. I am glad I have my own thimble, for example. * the fabric scissors seem like they will eventually snap the retaining block if you use it. They are fairly heavy and there is no second retainment system for the heavy scissors. I’m tempted to glue a hook and loop strap to the lid so it holds the handle and prevents the wood retaining block from snapping. What I liked: * way faster than sewing by hand. I was able to make a chain sleeve in about an hour which includes time to measure and cut fabric, set the machine up, and marry the material with pins before starting. This would have taken me three hours by hand. It came out looking pretty great considering I’d never used a machine before. * has everything you need for sewing provided you are okay with questionable quality on some of the more “luxury” tools (ie: thimbles, dimpled rings, needle threaders, pincushion, etc. stuff that is nice to have as a beginner but not essential). These things are cheap to buy better quality versions. What I didn’t like: * hard to control as a beginner. It has a learning curve. Material only goes in only one way. The machine will feed it out the other. (Got me excited to try full sized machines though) I highly recommend this as a gift for first apartment or home, for a student moving out or going to university, or for a teen interested in beginning machine sewing after learning how to hand sew. It would be a great engagement or wedding gift for a couple as well.

Seems like a great bundle, box came damaged unfortunately. The packaging wasn’t damaged so I was surprised to see the lid this way. I need the machine so I don’t have time to replace it.

This is a nice unit. While I can't say it's heftier or more durable than others it does work well, stitches accurately and gives you the size of stitches you want depending how you feed fabric through. It's easy to handle & not too bulky, has good speed. I just need to learn better how to feed it to not keep pulling to the left, especially when I'm on a seam and there's no edge on the other side to grab on to. I'm a very novice sewing machine operator so it's a steep learning curve for me. That's no reflection on the item though. They took care in the box which is all wood, sturdy and spacious, and all the accessories you get are amazing and most helpful. Should have everything you need to get started. It's a great value for the cost and just for the product itself, I really like how they care about quality.

This sewing kit comes in a beautiful and sturdy box. It is fairly compact and comes with all the supplies you can need. It is easy to use . It has 3 options for battery which makes it much more versatile. The scissors are very nice as well. It comes with an additional needle for the hand sewer. This is such a great choice for the cost.

This is a really impressive sewing kit for the price. You get dozens of should of thread, pins, needles, buttons, a measuring tape, thimbles, multiple sizes of scissors, and even a pincushion. All packed into a nice wooden box. And, of course, the star of the show is the sewing machine. It's small, but it works! It can be battery powered, or plugged into the included power adapter. I'd it going to satisfy a serious crafter? Definitely not: it's slow and somewhat hard to control. But for repairs, or simple tasks like hemming drapes, it's good enough and doesn't take up much space. This would be a really nice gift for someone moving into their first home who needs a more than complete seeing kit for basic repairs.

Great kit with pretty much everything you need in a basic sewing box. Bobby pins, sewing needles, a good assortment of thread, and so on. Even the box it comes in is well made and helps organize it well. The handheld sewing machine isn’t going to sew a wardrobe from scratch obviously, but it’s great for the small repairs and touch ups that most people would just throw away if the garment tore or came loose. Even though the handheld can be operated by batteries, this kit came with a wall charger as well. Nice touch!

When you look at this item, it seems to be a good deal. It comes in a nice-looking wooden box. Inside is everything you might need for your sewing needs. The list of accessories in this box is truly great: needles, scissors, threads, and many, many more. It will be a great set for someone just beginning to learn sewing. And the whole set would have been great, if not for the sewing machine itself. The quality of the machine is lacking; my wife found it hard to use, even for small clothes (like doll outfits). The machine jams sometimes and requires an external intervention to fix. And it's not powerful enough to help with any actual cloth repairs. All in all, I did not find this set to be of great value.
