I needed a new slow cooker after my very old, wonderful and heavy crockpot finally died. I decided to try this Hamilton Beach model based on reviews and videos. Today I made a 3.6 pound pot roast with potatoes, carrots and celery. Pros: 1) the roast and vegetables came out perfectly cooked. 2) the entire cooking time was slightly less than my older crock pot. 3) this slow cooker is extremely light. 4) clean up was very easy. I did not put it in the dishwasher. 5) I really liked the different setting options. Big improvement over my previous cooker. 6) I thought the price was great. Cons: 1) the electrical cord is quite short. I had to do a lot of maneuvering to get it close enough to reach the under counter outlet. 2) the outside is very hot to the touch. So was my older one, but this one seemed hotter. 3) it seems much smaller than my previous 6 qt cooker and it was definitely shallower. I had to cut my 3.6 pound roast in half to get it to fit along with the vegetables. It will be interesting to see if it will cook a whole small turkey. 4) I do wonder how it will hold up over time. Especially the non stick coating. I really made sure not to scrape the bottom or sides when removing the roast and vegetables. If it lasts 5-10 years I will be happy. ... show more

I truly LOVE this slow cooker!! Since the liner is nonstick metal, it is SOOO much lighter and easier to clean than the old, heavy, ceramic crock. I no longer need to use liners and I love being able to sear the food in the metal crock directly on the stove, and then put it directly into the crockpot. Best investment ever! ... show more

I am revising this 9/7/2023. I still love this crockpot but it cooks EXTREMELY fast. I can cook 6 frozen chicken breasts on low in 3 1/2 hours. Anything longer than 4 hours and they are too dry so be careful. ————- I love this crock pot and the 2 main reasons is the inside pot is NOT a crock so it’s so light weight AND it’s nonstick which is the other reason . It does seem to cook a little faster than the many crockpots I have had in the past which isn’t that much of an issue since I work at home but I would not suggest setting something on low and working a full day and coming home 8+ hrs later to a tasty meal. It will probably be over cooked. I can cook frozen chicken breasts in about 6 hrs on low. ... show more

I’m not normally one to write reviews but I’m so impressed but this slow cooker I had to. I recently injured my hand and am slowly getting my grip back. With my old ceramic pot I would have had a bad time lifting it and cleaning it because I have limited grip. I lifted and cleaned this so easily I didn’t even realize I was using my sore hand. Talk about easy to clean it fit right in my dishwasher and came out clean. Definitely told my Mom and friends to replace their current pots with this one.
