This mixer should supply ample power for the most basic of kitchen needs. The beaters are sturdy enough to whip potatoes. For those that do not like metal on metal; then the coated beaters are an added option. They should be great to use with teflon cookware.

The only thing to dislike about this purchase is that the original mixer did not work as there was no power to the switch. It was promptly replaced by Amazon at no charge and the 2nd one works like a charm. It should also be noted that the warranty begins when purchased, you do not have to register with Hamilton Beach. If I were purchasing a hand mixer again, this would be my number one choice because of the features, size, promptness of delivery and the replacement of the defective unit by Amazon. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. I bought this mixer for one purpose, and that is to mix the natural peanut butter I like every time I open a new jar. Stirring that stuff by hand gets old. If only I had a power hand mixer that came with a heavy attachment, like a dough hook, and a powerful motor with multiple speeds, and the first speed very slow. Well, here it is. And it works great. I hope in the future I'll find more uses for it. I may even learn to bake some simple breads or cakes in the future, but right now it's making quick work of making natural peanut butter useable. ... show more
