I really liked the convenience of having a large range of options for my coffee. That said: The nespresso pod part works but pods can become stuck so make sure you check before inserting a new one. But the worst thing is that I turned the machine on this morning and was greeted with two blinking lights - of course this is not mentioned in the troubleshoot guide - and the machine is inoperable. It worked fine the day before. This is terrible quality. It is beyond terrible. It is downright unacceptable. I wish I could get my money back.

This review is for the k-cup / espresso combo unit. My friend and I both purchased one of these in November 2022. Mine arrived defective. His died a little over a month later. Same problem. You turn it on, it makes two clicking noises, and the lights blink - won't do anything else. Aside from the defective units. It's great that it can accept k-cups and nespresso pods. The kcups taste ok using the strong setting, but Keurigs seem to brew better coffe. I imagine the multistream Keurigs are even better. The 2 Keurigs I've used don't have multistream but still beat this unit in flavor. (Ignore this section - most likely was user error): The nespresso side brews a decent cup of espresso. But my problem is the way it's designed. The plunger is set sideways so water/coffee always gets trapped in the plunger and the bin to catch used pods is pretty small and water/coffee always finds a way to drip around the bin. So every time I empty the used bin, I also have to wipe the outside of the bin, the machine around and under where the bin sits, and the counter & under the unit. It's kind of a pain. The machine is also very loud. I assume a powerful pump is required to produce 19 bars of pressure for the espresso, but it also uses that very same pump to brew kcups. So it's loud and vibrates whether you brew espresso or kcups. Light sleepers be warned! Knowing all this, would I make this purchase again? No. It's not reliable, it's loud, and creates a mess. I think I'm better off with separate Keurig & Nespresso machines, and no counter space left. Update: My friend's unit died around early January 2023. It's now the end of March 2023, and Hamilton Beach still does not have the coffee maker in stock and no eta of when his replacement unit will be available. They did offer a different unit, but this is their only model with espresso & k cups. My replacement unit still works. Fingers crossed. Update2: My friend's unit that died in Jan 2023 still has not been replaced by Hamilton Beach. Unknown when it will be back in stock. It is now April, 2023. Update3: Now it's June 2023 and my unit is 7 months old. It started leaking internally, and the blinking light issue returned shortly afterwards - Unable to brew. Hamilton Beach still doesn't have them in stock. I'm done, time to move on to another brand.

The coffee maker works excellent. The espresso side leaked with every use and was completely broken after the second attempt. I wouldn’t waste the money on this.

We bought this in Jan 2023. Only used the espresso component a handful of times and it broke. It was always hard to close the lid when an espresso pod was in but now water comes out everywhere when you try to make espresso, even into the the container that catches the pods when you’re done brewing it. Water comes out of the coffee side as well. I would expect an item to last longer than 6 mos. Ordered another one and the espresso component was broken on this one as well. Very disappointing that I cannot get my money back on the one that’s less than 6 mos old. It is also vibrates extremely loudly when using either side.

Ability to brew K-Cups, Nespresso pods and ground coffee is, to me, the perfect combo. Allows me to replace a (giant) Ninja coffee maker and separate Nespresso machine with this handsome, all-in-one, compact unit. It fits very well under the kitchen cabinets with room to open the pod hatch... which the Ninja didn't. You can choose larger, 14oz brew size which is great for travel mugs. However, this is where the 1st major design issue comes into play. A 14oz coffee with typical 2oz of cream takes a 16oz mug. Unfortunately, any of the massively popular insulated travel mugs (Yeti, Hydroflask, Stanley, etc) won't fit under the brew spout. Depending on what you have, it's possible to sort of 'wedge' a mug under, but that is something that could have very easily been avoided with the slightest bit of 'field testing'. Like many single-serve makers, there are removable platforms on each side for minimizing pour distance. The one on the k-cup side does double-duty and also houses the ground coffee container pod. Thumbs up for keeping my kitchen cabinet clutter to a minimum! Unfortunately, this is also a place for another demerit as the thin aluminum drip grates on top of the platforms rattle incessantly while the unit is brewing. Easy enough to address with some tape, but requiring out-of-the-box 'fixes' isn't great. One of impressive things about the unit is that it houses a 19-bar pump for the Nespresso pods. If you've ever owned a compatible brewer, you know that the high pressure pumps are pretty loud. This is no different, obviously. But the Flexbrew uses the same noisy pump for regular k-cup (or ground) brews as well. So if you're the first one up in your home be aware that your morning java is going to be loud no matter what option you choose. The pump is also what contributes to the rattling platform grates. The unnecessarily short coffee platform is a definite drawback for me but overall, I like the Flexbrew Trio because it does what virtually no other unit does, and it does it pretty well.
