GET THIS! Get this NOW !!! I too, as many reviewers have said, didn’t think I “needed“ a rice cooker! OH! I WAS SO VERY VERY WRONG!!!! YES!! You NEED a rice cooker! No more scorched starchy water cooked onto the stove glass-top! But even more important- DANG GREAT RIce!!!! After last gummy sticky rice with spillover I had enough!! I read and this brand has been picked as top rice cooker for 10 years!!! I ordered and got last night. This morning I made rice! And yes, I thought there’s no way this will be enough for 2 people with any left overs! ( hold that thought…) I read, watched the videos I could find. Cleaned the cooker, rinsed my basmati rice ( personal favorite) and put in cooker bowl. Add salt and water to measurement line. My cooker is “6 cups” maker. Remember— Japanese measures, not US. Closed the lid and pushed the RICE button! Magic started right then! In less than 42 minutes perfect, and I mean PERFECT RICE! Grains that were fully cooked, tender, separate but snuggled next to each other! A few at the bottom were a bit over cooked, but compared to the gummy mess I had last time.. who cares!!??!! Bobby Flay makes crispy rice his secret .. you can too!! And how much rice did it make?? That bowl was full to the brim!!! More than 2 servings.. easily 4 depending on the meal! See pic with rice in 2qt bowl!! Could NOT have been EASIER!!! Clean-up- a breeze!!! Stores easily in a large pot in my pot drawer! Near flawless product! And a USA Company!!

Awesome rice cooker. It looks stylish, clean and goes well with my other kitchen gadgets. The size is just right and it does not take much of the counter space. My kids can use it on their own as it is very simple to use, and you really cannot go wrong with it. I only use it for rice but am very happy i purchased this cooker, no more watching rice cook and making sure it does not burn. The "keep warm" function is extremely useful and cleaning the cooker is a breeze.

Great little multifunction rice cooker

We bought this rice cooker because it had a function to cook hot cereal. My husband makes steel cut oats in it every night to have for breakfast in the morning. I ordered a new one for him for Christmas so we could put one in our new RV. The product arrived in the original package with some slight damage to the package. Because it was a gift I did not open it up I just wrapped it up for Christmas. We didn't need the rice cooker right away so we put it aside till we did. It is the middle of April and my husband is just now opening up the rice cooker to use it. When he opened the box he discovered that the outside it dented pretty good. It still functions but just doesn't look as nice as the others we have previously owned. That is why I gave it 4 stars. Functionality: this is a great product. We have purchased three in the last couple of years. We originally bought this rice cooker to replace a small round crockpot that the ceramic crock had broken. This product works well. My husband loves that he can set up his cereal before he goes to bed and it's ready in the morning. It has a delay timer hat will start the cooking and then when it's done it keeps the cereal warm and till ges ready to eat it. I have also made rice in it. I love that I can set up the rice to cook and then not have to worry about it while it's cooking. The rice comes out perfectly cooked and fluffy. It is not sticky. The rice cooker has an insert for steaming a small amount of vegetables or you can hard boil five eggs. I have not done either of those functions cause I have other ways to cook those items. Overall we love this product and highly recommend it. I would definitely buy it again.

Reliable versable cooker for one to two people

I have used Hamilton Beach products for years. Reliability for a decent price. I have a 20 cup and 30 cup Hamilton rice cookers I use for a ministry to feed homeless people. The 20 cup I bought use , works perfectly and has long been out of production. I needed a small rice cooker for just myself and wife. This replaced the small one I had that had broke the lid latch. Using the rice setting, I cooked brown rice in it first . Perfectly done. then steel cut oats. Perfectly done. Some foam because I put in a whole cup of oats. No spill over but I had to rinse out the lid. Next time just one rice cup. Then cooked white rice which turned out perfectly. If you need a small rice cooker, this one I highly recommend.

We love this thing. Perfect sushi quality rice in 45 mins. Beeps when it’s done and automatically moves over to keep warm setting. Rice spoon it comes with is a little flimsy.

Mouse poop, Cheap Make, Faulty Design

Really disgusted with the state this product arrived in. When I took it apart for initial cleaning, there were mouse droppings on the underside of the metal plate that seals the rice into the device. I gave the whole product a thorough deep-cleaning with soapy water and peroxide and decided to give it at least one try to see how well it cooked the rice. I followed the instructions to the tee twice. The rice somehow came out overcooked the first time, and undercooked the second time, even though the parameters were the same both times. The hinge of the device feels cheaply made as if it will eventually come loose and fall apart. The steam catching compartment has no catch when you slot it into its section and falls off by itself. I'm incredibly disgusted by the state it arrived in, and disappointed by the performance of the machine. I will be making a return and avoiding this brand from now on.
