  • Great Quality!! Hot Coffee!!
Color: Black, Fast Brewing, Removable Reservoir
Love it! Hottest cup of coffee! Large than average water reservoir on single serve side! Sleek design! Brews quickly 90 sec. Love that can brew carafe or single with my own coffee. No need to waste as it takes reusable pods! Definitely worth every penny!

  • UPDATED REVIEW
Color: Black, Fast Brewing, Removable Reservoir
"Didn't you just get that two months ago?!" That's what my son just said to me after I spent the better part of two days... TWO DAYS ... attempting to resolve the dreaded "nEEDLE" error on the single serve side. Of course, the return window closed a couple weeks ago. Of course. It's not that the needles needed replacing or that they were clogged. I cleaned both - top and bottom needles - thoroughly. They are piercing just fine. And it's not the brand of cups being used. We have a variety of brands from a variety of sources. It's the machine. See video. It brews about an ounce or two then suddenly starts hissing and puffing out steam from all openings, ending with an impressive blow-out of steam and loud hissing, accompanied by a burst of ground-filled water. It's about half an ounce but it contains enough grounds to cover the bottom of the coffee cup. And then there is a blinking blue light on the "brew/power" button. My son reminded me that our previous machines went out in a similarly hiss/steam blaze of glory. I guess because they lasted a few years, I didn't pay attention to how they ended up giving up the ghost. I just attributed it to them being a few years old and replaced them. This is a few MONTHS old. Bought at the end of April 2025. And it's now the end of June 2025. As much as I have felt loyalty to this machine for more than a decade ... I agree with my son: it's possible it's just not made as good as the previous versions were. PREVIOUS REVIEW: This is such a great system. I am honestly a fan of the dual brew going back years to when it was first released. I bought her (what, 10 years ago?) and it lasted until a few months ago, when she started refusing to acknowledge we had cleaned it whenever we tried to use the single-serve side. She was done. Period. She still brews carafes just fine, so she went to my husband's work site because no one brews single-serve coffee there. I made the mistake of trying a few other systems because some of my family wanted something that makes cold coffee, but after a few months of packing up and returning them all, one by one, I just bought this and told the family to take whatever coffee is left over in the carafe at the end of the day and pour it into a jar and put in the fridge. Voila, cold coffee... OG style. I mean, as a former newspaper editor, I was drinking cold coffee before it was a thing. Pour a cup of coffee, sit down to your desk and then the phone rings and someone knocks on the door... And four hours later, you sit back down and you have cold coffee. IT'S NOT THAT HARD and does not require an expensive machine to get done. Geesh. Anyway... This is a great system, as I knew it would be. I do like the larger reservoir for the single serve side - it lets me get a few decent size mugs from it. It brews a nice hot mug of coffee. I am able to put an average travel mug under the single serve dispenser but you do have to remove the mug pedestal to do that. I don't use the pedestal because we have tall mugs and the coffee doesn't splatter out while brewing like it does in shorter mugs. I like the addition of the brew strength choice - regular or bold. The bold makes it just right for a coffee. That option is there for both carafe and single serve use. You also get to choose the size of the mug on the single serve - going up to 14 ounce. That's that we use for our Contigo travel mugs. It gets the coffee hot and brews pretty quickly, which is good in mornings. Now, for context - this is sitting next to a $1000 fully-automated espresso machine that we use for fussy drinks. So, the fact we would spend that kind of money for an espresso machine should show you that we are buying for results - not cost savings. And the Hamilton Beach Dual Brew is our choice for quality results. The fact it's affordable is a bonus. ... show more

  • I love it!
Color: Black, Fast Brewing, Removable Reservoir
I love this double coffee maker! I just found out how to keep watch on the top needle or else it gets clogged up and won’t work on the single side. After listening at that loud noise it would make, I finally saw what the reading was saying. It was letting me know that the top needle was clogged up. I cleaned it out and now it works perfectly. ... show more

  • Hamilton Beach makes a better Keurig than Keurig
Color: Black, Fast Brewing, Removable Reservoir
My wife and I are generally single cup people. We don't drink enough coffee at home to leave a pot of coffee sitting on a burner during the day. So we simply brew a cup when we want to. And by using the numerous Keurig filter inserts available, we can use Keurig makers to make single cups out of our desired (and much cheaper) ground coffee. It costs less and is better for the environment. Periodically, however, we have the need to brew a whole pot of coffee. Such as when my wife wants to make iced coffee and we put it in the fridge, or when we go on a road trip and wish to fill a carafe. Hence a two in one coffee maker is very convenient. When they work. The two Keurigs we had failed in less than a year each. Not a good indication of their current quality control. So we switched to this one that we found for a very low "used" price on Amazon, and so far it has been brilliant. (Let's hope it lasts more than a year). But there are several things that set this one apart from the Keurig branded ones. 1. This one has two separate water reservoirs, one for the carafe and one for the single cup side. I really like this because this means the drip maker for the carafe doesn't have to rely on a separate pump to operate, Also, brewing a pot of coffee doesn't require you to fill the single cup side. It simply operates as a simple drip maker, using convection to move the water from the reservoir into the drip basket. 2. With the easily removable adapters, you can brew 12oz and 14oz cups without the watered down taste that usually occurs when brewing anything larger than 10oz from a K-Cup, or K-Cup filter. 3. The price of this unit is less than equivalent Keurig makers. 4. The baskets and inserts are easy to remove and clean. 5. The 56oz reservoir for the Single cup maker is great in that I don't have to fill up the single serve side each time I want a cup and brewing a pot does not pull water from the single cup side. 6. This one contains a timer and a clock which my other two Duo's did not. Some Duo's do, but they are even more expensive. So far I have zero complaints on this device. It fits well on the counter, the brew tastes great, the temperature is good, and the brew time is fast (90 sec) on the single cup side, and on the carafe side, it is a typical drip time depending on the size of the carafe. NOTE: Hamilton Beach has updated this pot to a newer version which discards the 56oz single cup reservoir in favor of a non removable "single cup" reservoir which must be filled each time you want a cup. I don't know why they did this, and I recommend purchasing this "older" version if don't want to fill up the single cup side during each brew cycle. The value proposition for this compared to Keurig branded pots is off the charts. ... show more

  • UPDATED REVIEW 4/3/26......
Color: Black, Fast Brewing, Removable Reservoir
**UPDATED REVIEW 4/2/26** I WAS ABLE TO FIX THE HOLDER IN THE TOP LID OF THE K-CUP HOLDER. Apparently, it can sometimes come loose and just needs to be re-tightened. The K-cup is now working properly. So the only issue I have with this combo machine is no external window showing how much water is being placed in the machine, you must use the craft or a measuring cup.*** Purchased this model 7 months ago and the k-cup brew stopped working. The lid to the k-cup side, doesn't seem to want to line up anymore and will not brew. Tried to readjust the holder and brewing attachment that sits on the top of the lid. measuring for the coffee pot brew side. Also there is no external window showing how much water you are placing in the machine when making a pot of coffee. You have to fill the craft to know how much water you are adding to make a pot of coffee. ... show more

  • 3 in one machine. Carafe, cups or single brew coffee. 3 in one machine. Carafe, cups or single brew coffee.
Color: Black, Fast Brewing, Removable Reservoir
Hubby wanted a new coffee machine. Nothing wrong with the Ninja we had but I looked to see what was out there. The criteria was a dual machine for carafe & k-cups. I landed on this one. Very nervous with some of the reviews about exploding cups/clogged needles. Plus this was wider than our existing Ninja for counter top space. After measuring we decided to try it. This brews the k-cups much quicker than the Ninja. Barely any wait until your cup is ready. Less than 2 minutes. A+++ There is an upper needle in the k-cup hatch door and an attachment pod holder piece with a lower needle to pierce k-cups. This also came with a reusable single serve brew basket attachment to use your own coffee. You can specify how many ounces to brew up to 14 oz for the cup/single brew side. Works great with Hubby’s tall Contigo work cups. With our old machine he would run 2 times to get his cup full. Now he only uses it once. There is a platform if you are brewing a smaller cup so the coffee doesn’t splash out which doubles as storage for the single brew basket.. Separate reservoirs for water and you can choose regular or bold strength. Carafe is about the same brew time as our old machine. This has tier notches in the water reservoir to indicate water levels. If you add more or less water above the lip this will brew as much coffee as the water you add. There doesn’t seem to be a set coffee level so beware. The amount of water you add is what you will get. This doesn’t come with a carafe brew basket so I bought one instead of buying paper filters. Look on here for 8-12 Cup Reusable Filter Basket With Closed Bottom, round version. The only thing I don’t like (and the Ninja didn’t do) is when you open the top hatch on the carafe side, when the brew is done but still active, the condensation water on the hatch drips into the machine and triggers the dreaded ‘brew’ gurgling sound. You can avoid this by waiting to open it to clean the brew basket/throw out the grinds. I just like to clean the basket right away. The controls/buttons are intuitive. I referenced the manual once and didn’t need it after that. The biggest learning curve is remembering to change the method of use you want, carafe or cups. The easy to read screen clearly shows which mode it is in. Fingers & toes crossed that this lasts for the long haul, unlike some reviews I read. If it doesn’t, I will be back to update. I hate to say that I did keep the Ninja just in case. But I have high hopes! ... show more

  • 2 broken in one year.
Color: Black, Fast Brewing, Removable Reservoir
9/2024. Well the second one broke exactly like the first. It would seem the k-cup side has an issue with intake of water. Both started to make loud noises before the first one started dumping water out the back and stinking of burnt plastic. The second wouldn't even dump water but lasted 8 months longer. Avoid Original reviw: Originally we bought the metal carafe but the keurig side broke and started pooling water under the machine and out the cord port. This is really the same machine. Below is my review for the other machine. All in all its the same except for the glass carafe and the heating element. I am enjoying those two things more. I like the glass carafe because it doesn't pour coffee all over the counter like the metal one does. I didn't want the heating element in the first place but I do like having the same hot coffee an hour later and it does turn itself off after I think 2 hours, I have not timed it. Otherwise the same gripes I have with the other one still stand and are below. I bought this because our costco keurig special finally died. I wanted a pot of coffee option and the keurig option and this does it. The best thing about this is the option to fill the included reusable keurig pod and the k-cup adapter. The k-cup adapter also holds a reusable k-cup which we find easier to use cause we have filters for it. The problem I have found with the included reusable keurig filter is that it overloads too easy and scrolls a large message across the screen, which is ridiculous it could be easier to read. The coffee pot and keurig side work great otherwise. The only other problem we have had is the clock and brew timer are ridiculously unlike any other clock and time you have ever set. It's not intuitive. It is also ridiculous that you can't program the keurig side to auto brew, should be exactly the same as the pot side. This should be an easy thing for the money spent on this. And remember if you do set auto brew for the pot side and then later go and change it to the keurig side then you need to make sure to take the step to restart the auto brew and flip it back to the pot side, not a big deal but still stupid. If both sides were programmable one at a time then sure I get why I would have to make sure to switch it back, it should reset itself if it was already on. Why not one reservoir and choose how much coffee the pot makes? The reservoir for the keurig is easy to fill but the lid falls off easy. The coffee pot side reservoir is hard to fill like every other coffee maker in existence and the water levels are impossible to see without good light and being able to see over the top of the coffee maker. I'm six foot and still cant quit make out all the steps. We have the metal coffee pot, its nice, it does hold the heat, I don't have to worry about a pot of coffee sitting on a hot plate. The coffee pot is a pain to pour the last bits out of. There should not be a lip where there is a lip the design could be better. The coffee pot side holds the steam in pretty good but the keurig side is a steam engine. We just put out the whole thing from under the cabinets regardless, no one needs mold. Overall its a good machine so far and it better last 10 years. Buy a used/refurbished if you can save some money unless you want the extended warranty that was not offered when we tried to purchase the used one. This is why we went with the new one, otherwise I would not have minded a returned item in good condition. ... show more

  • Best of both worlds
Color: Black, Fast Brewing, Removable Reservoir
We love this coffee maker! Our K-brand (you know the one) single cup maker was annoying and finally gave up on us. We still wanted the option for single serve, but also the carafe because my husband and I drink a large amount of coffee during the work week. The delay brew setting is wonderful, coffee is ready before we even step foot into the kitchen in the morning. The K cup holder is great, the whole housing comes out, so you don't even need to grab the little pod, you can just dump it right out of the housing. And the option to brew single serve fresh ground coffee? Amazing. The K-brand pods to use your own coffee are a nightmare, but the Hamilton Beach single serve grounds basket is easy and LARGE. The coffee tastes so much better and so far, it's been easy to clean, but I haven't had it long enough to descale it yet. Takes up just a little more room than our old one, but it's shaped better so it fits on our counter more easily. ... show more
