  • Coffee maker.

I have been using this brand for years. It is a great coffee maker.

If I could give negative stars I would. We have gotten this coffee maker several times, even though after about a year it leaks terribly, but I'm handicapped and I'm able to get my own coffee but this one turns off half way thru brewing so we have to turn it off then back on so it can finish, I have contacted customer service at Hamilton Beach but no one has contacted me back, so we have to get a regular coffee maker with a pot so other household members can enjoy coffee but now my independence is taken away. Very Disappointing. ***UPDATE*** Hamilton Beach has contacted me and the issue is being taken care of. Very Pleased! ... show more

  • Looking to replace that old BrewStation that you loved so much? KEEP LOOKING...!!
Color: Black
I know what you're thinking… You really loved the convenience of your old BrewStation, but after years of making your morning coffee, your trusty, old machine has finally brewed its last cup. You want to buy another one just like it. And the thing was so reliable, why would you even consider buying a different brand? You've seen the negative reviews here and reports about leaking, but those were just the unlucky few or people who are never satisfied—that won't happen to you. At least that's what I thought. And I can tell you, after 8 months and two defective products with the exact same leaking issue, I was dead wrong. To Hamilton Beach's credit, following the first failure (after only 5 months of light use), they immediately sent a replacement and covered the shipping cost. And I think that this was a very satisfactory response! Unfortunately, after only another 2 months, the replacement unit they sent started leaking in the exact same manner. This time, their proposed solution was terrible. Here's the email thread with customer service to give you an idea of what you might expect if you take a chance on this awful product: ________________________________________ Me: Hello, the coffee maker that I purchased in January 2022 started leaking and I would like a replacement or refund. After filling the reservoir to the 10-cup mark the night before, I found a large puddle of water underneath the machine the next morning (before starting the brewing process). That night, I filled the reservoir and left it in the sink. The next morning I found that the water level had not changed, so it appears that the leak is coming from somewhere in the machine and not from the reservoir itself. I was very happy with my previous BrewStation (that lasted for years) but am disappointed to encounter this issue so early in this product's life. Please let me know what my warranty coverage options are. Thank you! ________________________________________ Customer Service Representative: Thank you for contacting us. We are pleased to tell you that your product is still covered under the limited warranty and your replacement unit (model 47900) has been ordered for you. Instead of returning the full product, please unplug the appliance and disable the appliance by cutting off the power cord. Once the appliance has been disabled, please discard both the appliance and cord once the replacement item has been received. Typically, shipping and handling is not covered under the limited warranty; however, Hamilton Beach will pay the cost of shipping in this instance. Processing time can take 72 business hours. Afterwards, your new appliance should arrive within 14 business days, at the address provided. Thank you for contacting Hamilton Beach Brands. Please let us know if there is anything else we can do to assist you. ________________________________________ Me: (Two months later) I am extremely disappointed to report that the replacement unit you sent has started leaking in the same exact way as the original unit after only two months of use. And just a note about the usage—most days I make 4 cups once a day and occasionally I might make 10 cups if I have a guest. With such light usage, these failures are even more surprising to me. Since this is the second unit that has failed in exactly the same way, it appears likely that there is either a manufacturing or design flaw in this model. Can you please offer me a different model or a full refund? I’m sure you can understand that this is becoming a significant hassle—making morning coffee should be easy, right? I need a reliable machine, and it appears that this model is anything but. ________________________________________ Customer Service Representative: Thank you for your email. We apologize for any inconvenience and concern this may have caused. We share your concern and want to obtain your appliance for a quality evaluation. We also want to replace it with a new appliance. You will receive a prepaid UPS label and instructions via email to return your appliance for a quality evaluation. Please print the label, adhere it to the box, and drop the box off at your local UPS store. Once we receive your current appliance, we will ship you a new one. Your new appliance will arrive within 10-15 business days after we receive your current appliance. Thank you for contacting Hamilton Beach Brands, Inc. Please let us know if we can assist you. ________________________________________ Me: Thanks for your reply and proposed solution; however, if you would like my review to go in your favor, this is not an acceptable solution for me. By sending my new appliance 10-15 business days after you receive my defective return, it could be 3-4 weeks before I receive my new appliance. How can I make coffee during this time? After all of the trouble that I have experienced with this product, my expectation of the best customer service response would be to expedite me a new appliance (of a different model) so I don’t have to buy my coffee from a shop during the period you have proposed (which would likely cost more than purchasing a new machine from one of your competitors). If you are concerned about my not returning the defective machine, I would be happy to provide my credit card number for you to keep on file until you receive the return. If you do not agree with my proposal, the only other solution that I would find acceptable is a full refund of the purchase price so I can purchase a different machine immediately. ________________________________________ Customer Service Representative: Thank you for your email We are unable to issue a refund on any products not purchased directly through us with in the last 60 days.  If you would like a refund, you will have to follow the refund policy of the retailer you purchased your unit from.  The occurrence you have described with the appliance has prompted a return for evaluation. A replacement appliance may not be released until the return is in transit to Hamilton Beach. At this time, we have noted your file with your displeasure regarding the policy. If you decide to return the appliance for a replacement, the UPS label sent will remain valid for 30 days. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. Thank you for contacting Hamilton Beach Brands, Inc. and please let us know if we can further assist you. ________________________________________ During the week or so of this last email exchange, the leak became so bad that even with filling the reservoir just before hitting the brew button (i.e. not letting it sit overnight), I couldn't even brew 4 cups without getting a puddle of water on the counter. Thinking that I had no other recourse other than to post a poor product review, I messaged Amazon customer service just to let them know that I was extremely dissatisfied with the product and response from one of their sellers. I was pleasantly surprised that Amazon offered me a full refund on the product without having to send it back even though it wasn't an Amazon issue! Thanks Amazon! Suffice it to say that I will certainly think twice before buying any Hamilton Beach product in the future. ... show more

  • I am so glad i found this product on Amazon!
Color: Black and Silver
When we moved into our new home, our coffee maker didn’t make it. I quickly realized how hard it is to find a carafe-free coffee maker, so I grabbed a standard (brand name) coffee maker off the shelf at Costco. Big mistake. I quickly realized I really don’t like having a carafe, and on top of that, the machine was awkward and frustrating to use. Within days, I was determined to return it. I went on Amazon and, after some searching, I luckily found the exact carafe-free coffee maker I had purchased back in 2022—the one that broke during the move. I ordered it immediately and couldn’t wait for it to arrive. As soon as it was delivered, I set it up in my new coffee bar and instantly smiled. It fit perfectly, looked so much better, and felt right. One feature I especially love is the removable water reservoir—I don’t have to lug water across the kitchen to the coffee bar or drag the entire coffee maker to the sink just to fill it. Setup was refreshingly easy. Setting the time, brew schedule, and preferences was so intuitive that I didn’t need the manual—or a PhD—to figure it out. The very next morning, the coffee brewed right on time, and both my husband and I commented that it even tasted better than the coffee from the machine now sitting on the counter waiting to be returned. I honestly couldn’t be happier with this purchase. If you’re on the fence about buying a carafe-free coffee maker, take the leap—you won’t regret it. Quick highlights: --Carafe-free (no messy pouring or cleanup) --Removable water reservoir (no lifting or hauling) --Extremely easy setup and programming --Great-looking and compact on the counter --Consistently great-tasting coffee ... show more

  • Loaded With Black Plastic, but works well…
Color: Black and Silver
I’ve got nothing bad to say about this thing. It is however, loaded with black plastic, including the hot reservoir that holds the coffee. It is nice not having to deal with a glass carafe, though we do have three of them from previous models. It kind of bothers me, all of he black plastic, though it doesn’t affect the taste. I just know what has been said about it and we got rid of all of our utensils because of that. We cleaned it out with vinegar, water, rinsed a couple of times before using it is all. You would think they’d use stainless or thermal glass or something other than plastic, but it would make this model a lot more expensive and thing is, I’d probably pay it. I love the controls; they went back to the old way on this model, which is simple like a clock radio. The display is big and bright blue like I wrote them 10 years ago to make happen because their display clock kept going out. I’d like that you can see the water level and the coffee level without having to turn the stupid thing around, as was the case on our previous model. The hot plate controls go up to four hours, and there’s no temperature setting on it, though it keeps the coffee at a nice temperature without being scalding hot. • Surprising... & I'm pleased to elaborate on that!
Color: Black and Silver
Overall, my first impression of the Hamilton Beach Brew Station didn't send me over the moon. The heating element got a charred spot during the very first use - like in a restaurant, when an *almost* empty coffee pot sits on the warmer plate until the remaining liquid keeps cooking down until it becomes a solid layer of something resembling creosote baked onto the bottom. In my photo, it doesn't look as dark - thanks to the flash 🤦🏼♀️ The coffee this machine makes is quite good, but water always remains on top of the grounds in the filter basket - even HOURS after you brewed it. That means you must place something underneath when you take it to the sink to let it finish draining, or to the garbage can to dump it out - otherwise, you'll leave a trail of coffee. If you have a tendency to get lost in your kitchen easily, I suppose this *could* come in handy... I don't know. But THEN there's the Iced Coffee feature. It's worth the entire cost of the machine, in my honest opinion! You can put a tray of ice (+/-, depending on the size of the cubes, size of the tray, etc) directly into the holding tank, which means the water gets pumped from the reservoir, through the coffee in the filter basket, and right onto ICE! No need for adding a ton of ice to your HOT coffee once it's been brewed, or guessing how much sugar/sweetener, creamer, & whatever else you prefer in your Joe... only to find that you've gotten it so watered down, or too sweet, or white as a sheet, & it doesn't even look OR taste like java anymore! You DO have brewing options, which is nice: brewing just 1-4 cups, brewing regular strength coffee or BOLD coffee, and lastly, the aforementioned (FABULOUS!) Iced Coffee feature. It does allow you to dispense your coffee a cup at a time - but it's not a freshly-brewed cup, as one might be led to believe by the description. It's still sitting there being heated until it shuts off (automatically or manually). You can set the warmer for zero hours, or to power down after 2 hours, 3 hours, or 4 hours. All in all, it's definitely not causing me to experience buyer's remorse or anything. I wouldn't have it anymore if that were the case. I bought a (separate) single cup Brewer within a couple days of this purchase, and it's no longer here. It smelled AND tasted like freshly brewed plastic, even though I ran plain water through it the first time... & it was no better on the sixth cup. 🤢 In case someone is going to look at my first & last statements to decide for or against this item, I will say that it makes me quite happy. I hope that you find what makes YOU happy! ... show more

  • Good coffee, mess to clean up
Color: Black and Silver
I bought this brewer to replace a similar Hamilton Beach dispensing brewer that I had had for 5 or 6 years - the carafe on it was leaking and they didn't sell replacement carafes for that model any more. I've used this 47950 brewer several times a week for about a month now. This brewer makes coffee very well, and quickly. My old one did not have a separate water reservoir, the water got put right into the brewer. This has a separate water tank, which is convenient, but makes the brewer take up a few inches more counter space. Not a problem if you have a lot of counters, but those extra few inches may be a problem if this is the brewer you leave out all the time for every day use. The dispenser button is a little hard to press in, I'd be afraid to use delicate coffee cups with it, but I have no problem using sturdy mugs. I've used both 2 and 3 hour 'keep warm' settings - it keeps the coffee very hot - to the point of almost boiling. I've not had a problem with burnt taste or scorching, but I could see that happening if it's left on long with only a cupful left in it warming. My biggest problem with this brewer is the clean-up. I have yet to find a convenient way way to clean out the grounds without making a mess. The coffee is kept so hot (nice) that there is a lot of steam produced that keeps the used grounds very wet and drippy (not so nice). And when you lift the lid to get to the grounds all the steam that has condensed on it runs both into the back of the coffee tank and onto the grounds, making the grounds even wetter. even wetter. When you lift out the basket to dump the grounds it drips across the counter, kitchen floor, trash bin, wherever you have to go to dump your grounds. There are multiple holes in the grounds holder base, so you can't even just hold a finger over a hole like on other brewers I've had. Sure, to avoid the drippy mess you can hold a cloth or paper towel under it, but that's a waste, and also not convenient, but probably the best solution- unless the grounds are hot. I've also tried lifting the whole coffee tank/grounds basket unit off the base (when the coffee is gone!) to carry the grounds holder to be dumped, but that's not real easy either, especially if the unit is hot - I've had to do this when needing to make more coffee right away. Overall, I'd be hesitant to recommend this, but wouldn't know what to get instead, it seems every machine/brand has its quirks, problems or ridiculous high prices, so I'll stick with this until it leaks or breaks. ... show more

  • Well Thought-out Coffeemaker
Color: Black and Silver
We've had this coffee pot several months and I love love love it! I seldom write reviews, but I don't want others to be put off by the fact that this pot is a little unusual in the way it "pours". It turns out it is very handy - no carafe involved. And the designs of the pieces are so sensible! There are little grab places in all the right spots. The inner coffee container is easy to deal with. If there is one negative I could say about it it is very minor. The basket that holds the filter paper and grounds has quite a bit of condensation on it when I emove it to rinse it out, so there are some drips. Just tapping it on the pot before removing it takes care of it. I just read the one star reviews this pot has received. It ours lasts a few years, we'll be very happy. How can anyone expect a product used daily to last 6+ years!? ... show more
