So- I just got this but as soon as I opened the package I was in love. There are 3 good PCs of wood. You can stack them or they can be molded together. They are like a Puzzle.... the PCs were selected well. I boiled them for 1 hr — changing the waters halfway. Then I emptied the water and let them sit overnight in the pot (with fresh tap water cold). In the morning it was not as dark like tea! But slightly tinted yet. I boiled the wood a second time and repeated! Again the water at first when you boil it? It’s dark like tea..... but I do think the 2nd boil is needed to release more tannins. And to avoid your aquarium being tinted. So I’ll let them cool now and throw them into aquarium once I glue some plants to them. Totally worth the $16. You get some good sized PCs. The longest is maybe 7-8”. Not bad at all!!! I’d buy again for sure!!!! Ty for the vendor to ship it fast also. You done well!! Btw the wood wasn’t sinking in my aquarium right away (after all the boiling etc). But I think a day or two and it’ll settle down. ... show more

    • Looks awesome, will STAIN aquarium water
Looks great, perfect sized for my aquarium. The only problem is it stained the water a lot. I left the wood in an aquarium overnight with a piece of slate over it to waterlog the pieces (they will float at first). The next morning, it looked like strong coffee. I tried boiling the pieces, soaked them in a bucket for 2 weeks... still releasing large amounts of tannins in water. At least I have cool looking decor on my shelves around the fish room now. Not a total loss, but not what I need for a fresh water aquarium. ... show more

The three pieces I got were awesome! Size was perfect and so was the shape of them! Basically got a “smaller” (not actually that small, just the smallest) really unique piece, a medium long piece, and a bigger/thicker center piece. I was pleasantly surprised! Highly recommend!! Can’t even explain how much I truly enjoy them. Awesome for a fish tank. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. Based off of other reviews, I decided to boil my wood before placing it in my ten gallon tank. I boiled it twice and the video shows the water from the second boil. In total, I boiled the wood around 4 hours. The water wasn’t as bad for me as other people experienced. I had some trouble positioning the pieces of driftwood because they were slightly buoyant due to being so lightweight. I’m sure this problem will go away overtime as the wood absorbs more water. I do wish the pieces were a bit bigger. Shortly after placing the wood pieces in my tank, I started noticing black beard algae (BBA) on the wood. I tried to treat the black beard algae with peroxide, boiling the wood again for several hours, etc. No matter what I tried, I couldn't kill it. I finally bought two Siamese Algae Eaters which ate all the black beard algae. I kept the two fish for several weeks after I no longer could see any BBA. After I rehomed them, I noticed the BBA came back. I decided, as much as I liked the wood in my tank, to throw the pieces away. I didn't want to risk another black beard algae bloom. After I removed the wood pieces and one more tank cleaning session, the black beard algae disappeared. ... show more

The 3 peices I received had such character. Each had their own design and auticincy. I didn't have to soak them for too long to get them to sink maybe 2 weeks or so. Not much tanning release either. They look like perfect little trees. Will buy again.

The pieces arrived in decent enough condition, but they were pathetically small and not very interesting or aesthetically pleasing to look at. I was hoping for moderately sized pieces that would really bring my tank to life, but they're smaller than expected and don't live up to my expectations. You'd think a purveyor of driftwood would know to only sell pieces that are interesting and enjoyable, and not the scraps that belong in the firepit. I'm really disappointed in what I got and would NOT recommend buying from them. ... show more

the wood pieces are all interesting, 2 out of 3 sank without help, which was more than I expected! For the price, it's a great option for driftwood.
