  • BEST LIGHTS! BEST LIGHTS!
Edit: in the photos the front driver & passenger areas look a bit washed out cuz of the OEM lights (white color) that turn on/off when the doors open/close. They turn off within a few seconds but took these photos shortly after opening the doors. These Govee strips are always on, while driving, but if I wanted them off, its simple as pushing the off button on the included remote. These are freakin bright! Have Govee lights around my TV at home so I know they make good light, I surely wasn't wrong! The remote that these come with is pretty cool. Other lights remotes are a cheesy credit card sized with lame buttons, that you eventually lose somehow. The remote to these Govees is like an alarm fob for your Keychain, you'll likely always have with you. Its small enough where you dont really notice it in your pockets. The thing is, its small but has some heft to it, the buttons are nice n clicky, theres a light on it letting you.know you pushed a button, this thing is high quality, I'd feel guilty losing it. The lights have a bunch of features, which are selectable from the remote. You can have the lights hit with the beat, theres a rainbow or colors to use, and brightness scale, dim to freaking bright. The photos show it on the brightest setting. I tend to just leave it on red, no fancy flashing for me, unless the kids request it. It even has this setting where you can have half the strip be one color and the other half another color, i think thats pretty cool.. Have had these for nearly 6 months now and zero issues. I have it plugged into a cigarette port in the middle console. Whenever I turn on the car, lights turn on too, regardless being daylight or night. The lights around my TV have been going strong for 3 years now I think, so hopefully these will last as long as them. If they do blow out, I'd likely buy this again. But would scour other ones seeing if there's any new features that the latest models are rockin. ... show more

  • Great product!
I bought these after a car group I’m in suggested them. My previous car had integrated ambient lighting and I really missed it when I moved into my new car. So did my kids! So I ordered these, expecting them to be great based on reviews, but also expecting to have to use alternative methods to attach them since other reviews say the included sticky strips aren’t great. I’ll add that I knew going into this I would not be using the provided screws and screwing them into my brand new car. Shipping was quick. Installation was easy. I was able to hide all the wires underneath the trim within my car and you can only see the smallest part of wire where it leaves the cigarette lighter and goes around to the side of the center column. The wires were plenty long for my small suv (RAV4) and I plenty left over for larger SUVs. I stuck the two front lights on with the included adhesive and I didn’t even secure the backseat lights. They fit perfectly on the floor just behind the lip of my all weather mats. They sit out of the way and stay in place, which is great as the bottom of my front seats are fabric and I wasn’t sure how I was going to go about attaching the lights there. I’m also thrilled to say that so far, about a week, the included adhesive holding the front lights has worked great. Nothing has fallen, not the lights or the attached remote. It’s also extremely cold where I live, so I figured they’d fall fairly quickly, happy they haven’t! The lights are bright, the brightest option is too bright in my opinion while driving at night so I turn it down. The app is functional, maybe a bit clunky when trying to have different colors on the segments, but overall I like it. I see others say that it always resets to music mode or random colors when you start the car, for me it’s only done that once, every other time it stays on what I had it on when I turned the car off. These lights are great value for the money and I have no regrets about purchasing them. They are fun and add a little something to your car and night time driving. Kids love it too. ... show more

  • Deserves 5 stars from me Deserves 5 stars from me
So overall I think these are really good interior lights if you want that kind of look in your car, and would definitely recommend these to someone looking for some. Heres my experience with them so far. When it comes to installing them they are fairly easy to install, the hardest part of putting them up (for me) was finding a spot for them under my dash and seats, since in my truck, the only flat semi-hidden spot was on my front passenger side. As well as finding a way to route the wires to keep them hidden. Otherwise if you know good spots to put the light bars and know how to run the wires so they aren’t in the way, its a simple install that might only take an hour or so (maybe even less) depending on your vehicle. However, the next day after initially putting them up, I ended up hardwiring them into my ignition power and ran a custom switch to the dash so I can just easily turn them on and off with the truck accessory or when its running. Obviously this voids the warranty so I shouldn’t say it’s recommended to hardwire them unless you know how to work with the wiring and know that if they break you most likely wont get a new set without having to buy them again. This being said, they still work great even after the hardwiring and I haven’t ran into any issues. They seem pretty solid however it seems if too much force is put on the wires by accident they may try to pull out of the light bars slightly (one of mine sorta did this, but not enough to cause any issues) They also come with pretty much everything you should need to mount them up, this includes screws and zip ties. For me the adhesive worked great for everything but my front driver side, but quickly screwing the bar up did the trick. This most likely will depend on your vehicle and the materials used in them. In terms of brightness, my photos were taken during the daylight and depending on the color/s you use they seem to be pretty bright even when its light outside, and at night they show up even better, as you would assume they would. I would say my only issue I could see with these is that it seems they are made to go into a vehicle that has a center console with a cigarette lighter inside of it or near it to easily plug in and hide your wires away. My truck however does not have this, so my initial install had to have the wires running under my middle seat and then up into my lower cigarette lighter. Not a big deal if you don't mind it, but I wasn’t a huge fan of it myself. So far these definitely deserve 5 stars from me, they have many more pros than cons (and I wouldn’t say they have really any cons). If you’re looking for good interior lights that have addressable abilities, I would recommend giving these a try. ... show more

  • Great when it works, but Mode bounces around randomly from solid to strobing to 10% brightness, etc Great when it works, but Mode bounces around randomly from solid to strobing to 10% brightness, etc
I love these when they work. But I find the "strobe" or flashing/beat driven modes too distracting for safe driving. The "rotating" color and solid color modes are fine. I almost always just want solid color lights and Iusually choose from 3 or 4 colors depending on time of day, how I feel, and where I am going. Problem is, every hour or two while I am driving, the lights randomly dim, change to strobing, or just turn off completely on their own - so very annoying. Then I have to pull over to fix them or try to do that while I drive, which is unsafe. I am not an EE but it seems like the circuit/shielding, or whatever prevents adjacent electrical impulses of other vehicle systems from interfering with the operation of this light system, is ineffective. I don't know why they have the blinking lights. It's gimmicky and annoying and unsafe. I wish I could go into the app and delete those modes that I will not use. Then maybe more often they would stay the way I set them. I like the app and that I can save my favorite colors all in one place in my phone, for use on any of my Govee lights - I have them on the back of my TV, and under my kitchen cabinets to light the counter, and in the car. I wish I could delete some choices on the app, to make it cleaner and simpler. I found installation not too difficult. I laid out the four light bars outside in the same way they would be installed, identified which was supposed to go where, started from the last one (right rear), then hiding the wiring from the passenger side to the driver side rear, then doing that light, and then again hiding the wiring under the console to the front, and then do the passenger side, and finally driver side. I had to get creative in attaching the front ones because putting them too high under the console caused the light to only reach the front of the floor. I used some plastic shipping wrap to "hang" the light bar low enough to not see the bar but the light could cover the whole front floor. This meant I needed 2-sided tape there, and I also found the sticky tape on the light bars not quite good enough anyway, so I used some heavy duty Scotch-Mount Double Sided Mounting Tape which has kept them up. (Make sure you clean and dry the surfaces well.) I also used the rubber loops on the ends of the light bars, and the included zip ties, to fasten them snugly above the rear seat floor, under the seats, since there was nothing I could stick the light bars to. The wiring from the lights to the manual switch came up about a foot short in my Hyundai EV. Darn. But it looks great. I just wish it consistently worked properly, not changing the display mode randomly. ... show more

  • Awesome Car Upgrade – Fun, Easy to Use, and Seriously Impressive Awesome Car Upgrade – Fun, Easy to Use, and Seriously Impressive
I installed the Govee Interior RGBIC Car Lights in my car several months ago, and they’ve easily become one of my favorite little upgrades. These lights do way more than I expected—they’re bright, colorful, responsive to music, and surprisingly customizable. If you’re even mildly into car lighting or just want to add some personality to your vehicle, I highly recommend these. Installation was straightforward. The strips are flexible, the adhesive is strong, and the cords are long enough to tuck and hide without any hassle. I ran the wires under the seats and around the trim, and everything stayed put without needing any extra tools or tape. Took maybe 20 minutes start to finish, and I was up and running. The lights themselves are impressive. The RGBIC technology lets them show multiple colors at once, and the transitions between colors are super smooth. It doesn’t just flash random lights—it actually creates a coordinated ambient effect that makes the whole interior feel more premium and fun. Whether I’m driving at night or just hanging out waiting on someone, they add a cool vibe without being distracting. The app control is where these lights really shine. The Govee app gives you access to a ton of features—different scenes, color palettes, brightness levels, and even DIY modes where you can make your own animations or effects. The Music Sync mode is especially fun. It listens to the music and makes the lights pulse and shift along with the beat. It’s surprisingly responsive and makes even a regular drive feel like a party. I’ve also been impressed with how reliable they are. The lights connect to the app every time without fail, they remember my last setting even after I turn off the car, and I haven’t noticed any flickering or dimming at all. They’re solidly built, and I don’t worry about them peeling off or shorting out anytime soon. Whether I’m driving solo or giving someone a ride, these lights always get compliments. They’re fun without being over-the-top, and the level of control you get through the app makes it easy to switch between low-key ambient lighting and full-blown color shows depending on your mood. For the price, you get a lot—bright, customizable lighting with smart features that actually work. It feels like a premium product without the premium price tag. If you’re thinking about adding some flair to your car interior, this is a great place to start. ... show more

  • Does not remember options
The product is high quality but every time I start my car it goes into cycling thru every color. It does not remember the color I set them at. This is annoying. Every time I start my car I have to set the lights. For the price I expected better. Cheaper lights don't have this problem.

  • A swing and a miss...maybe not. A swing and a miss...maybe not.
I am a Govee fanboy. I love all my Govee products. I have a TV backlight, a COB strip, a Table Lamp, an aurora projector, an air purified and a fan. I love them all and use them everyday. But admittedly, this was a long shot and ultimately a strikeout. First thing was how to install them. There's really not much under the dash of my Santa Fe to stick them to. But I managed to get them all set up. At first they were really cool. I drive for Uber so I wanted something for that "club" look. My riders loved them, thought it really created vibe. But today, I noticed a few things: 1) I thought it would default to what I ran last, but it selected some other scene on it's own. 2) Then it turned it off mid trip and I had to use the app to turn them back on. 3) They fell down. Somehow the 3M tape on the back separated from the light strip housing and therefore, there was no placing them back up. In frustration I took them out and now I'm going to return them. What a waste. Also I noticed when using music mode, the brightness kept dropping. These lights cost more than my TV backlight and they do a fraction of what the backlight can do. UPDATE: I drive for uber and Lyft and I really want to crest the vibe, keep the party going all the way home. So I bought a $12 Govee strip and put it up on my headliner. Riders love it. So I thought I’d give the car lights another try. Again, there’s nothing under my dash to connect to that will last. The 3M tape doesn’t really like the plastic sheathing on the lights and will easily come off. Zip tie?…to what? Well I think I’ve got it figured out. I attached them to the lever under the seat you use to push the seat back, with zip ties. Under the front seats, on the back, there are two elastic straps, so I just fit them in there and hid the wires. The riders love it. I’m happy. And in the front, you get way more color than under the dash. First pic is under the back of the seat. Second pic is under the front of the seat, the lever to move the seat. They move, but I never move my seat so their orientation is permanent. And I hardly ever get a request to move the passenger seat. ... show more

  • Easy light-show in your car!
Was looking for interior led strip lights for my 2016 Cruze for awhile and decided on these for price and features. Govee seems like a reputable brand and you can tell they care about quality because the overall build of the led strips, controller, remote, and the cigarette lighter plug are very well made. I did however ended up hardwiring them into my Cruze and overall took me about an hour or so due to wire management and running them around the inside. The kit does include screws and zipties for a more secure hold wherever you decide to mount them as well as 3M automotive adhesive tape already applied on the back of each strip (I recommend before you peel the backing off the tape and mount them to take some time and wipe down your desired location with some alcohol/wipes to give the adhesive a better hold). I ended up removing the adhesive tape and using my own that gives a better hold on rough roads than Govee’s. They say you can’t hardwire them, but if you snip the wire you’ll be able to see positive and negative wires encased in the main black line, if you’ve done your own work with head units or speakers this shouldn’t be too hard, I personally went this route to keep a cleaner look and still have access to my port for my charger/lighter. All you need is a tap-a-fuse and maybe some extra wire for the ground if there is no spot near fuse box. As to which fuse you can tap into will depend on you and your car, on my Cruze I tapped into my PRNDL illumination fuse so lights turn on when key is turned and off when removed. I do suggest you look under your dash mainly at where your pedals are to make sure any loose wire won’t get pinched or caught during driving, and make use of those zip ties too! Once installed, I noticed that these strips are EXTREMELY BRIGHT, I do have a black interior so I would assume they’ll be bright in grey/tan interiors. MAKE SURE YOU READ THE MANUAL so you know which buttons on the included remote do what, I had to search online after i tossed the instructions out but figured it out eventually. If you have a great sound system in the car, then the sound reactive feature will be great show for you, in my car it’s kind of a hit & miss, it does react to my voice and music if it’s loud enough, but I can say that mic on the controller itself is very sensitive and will pickup all sounds easily, however I’m not a fan of the sound/music reaction so I downloaded the Govee app and was surprised with how well it’s designed and found it easier to control the lights from my phone then using the included remote, even has different “scenes” or effects the lights will go through, and you even have the ability to create your own light show. I left mine on rainbow because it looks pretty cool cycling through all colors at night. Don’t worry, those with sensitive eyes you can tone the the brightness up or all the way down in app or with the remote/controller. Overall they are very great looking lights and a solid build. Install was fairly easy and probably easier for someone else who will probably use the cigarette lighter plug instead, and the light shows in my car are pretty awesome. I suggest you take your time, lay everything out to make sure enough wire is able to reach your desired locations and if you decide to hard wire then watch a few videos on how to if you’re not familiar and of course make sure to GROUND. Also test a bit of the adhesive to see if it will stick to your interior as different cars plastics are terrible at getting anything to stick to the surface, best to make use of the included zipties and mounting screws. ... show more
