My kids and their friends have enjoyed this teeter totter for many years. I took away one star though for the seats. After the first year they really starting wearing down. As you can see from the pictures, there is no cushion left, so no one will get on anymore because it’s so uncomfortable. I only wish this company would offer replacement seats. ... show more

I bought this for my 4 yr old and 7 yr old grandkids. They are having so much fun on it. When my 7 yr old would spin it, because she weighs more then her brother, she would lower her seat to the ground and let the wheel under the seat spin them. I would recommend this item.

I’m not sure how many stars to give this teeter totter…5 stars for being made of heavy duty metal, it is substantial and won’t tip over. It easily holds 2 adults. It goes up and down and spins smoothly. 5 stars for arriving well packaged and being fairly easy to put together. The paint is bright and shiny. But then there’s the seats. 5 stars for large seats, a good handle and a backrest. 1 star for the quality of material of the seats. It’s awful. They are not metal, wood or plastic seats, but made of something that feels just like styrofoam. The metal bar from the teeter totter runs underneath the seat, with the styrofoam seat on top. The styrofoam has a cheap, very thin fabric that is stapled over it. One season of summer sun will destroy the fabric and one rainy season will rot or mildew the styrofoam. The seats will be junk. I guess i will try to reupholster them when that happens. Otherwise, a very study piece of equipment my kids really like. Hmmm…3 stars? ... show more

    • Such a fun toy!
We purchased this for our kids two Christmases ago and it is still holding up beautifully. They were 6 and 3 at time of purchase. Now at 8 and 5 they still love it, their friends love it, and to be honest, my husband and I have hopped on it here and there, and we love it too! We tried our best to keep it from rain exposure, but eventually it had to weather some storms when we forgot or got lazy, but we've not dealt with any rust or any of the seat rotting that was mentioned in some reviews. The only "damage" we've seen occurred early on-they pin to lock it in place hangs by a wirey-type cord and the cord broke almost immediately and we lost track of the pin. No biggie though, it's not vital to us to have it locked in place. This thing has been a hit for us and has proven to be very, very well made. Definitely recommend! ... show more

Not much of a good seesaw the children do more spinning in circles then going up and down it doesn't lift them high enough for them to enjoy the up and down aspect of it but 360 circles it's good for that they enjoy that so I give it a three-star.

    • Amazing fun, well made
I posted a review for another Gym Dandy item (the pendulum style teeter totter) because my son absolutely loved it and it was very well made for the price (I also posted some tips on performance mods). After much consideration I broke down and purchased this one too and I'm glad I did. This thing is crazy fun and regardless of its rating it is probably much stronger than stated in the specifications. That said, this product should provide years of use since kids can use it until they get tired of using it. I'm pretty sure they will outgrow it mentally before physically unless of course they never grow up like myself. A few thoughts. I saw one bad review saying it is dangerous. Indeed this is not for infants or small toddlers. This is a toy for active children who can use some common sense. Adult supervision until they use sound judgment wouldn't hurt either. You may get a scraped knee or a few bumps from this but that doesn't justify a bad review. You wouldn't send a 2-3 year old down a double black diamond on skis either but that doesn't mean you give a pair of skis a bad review. This is a great product and will get kids out of the house having fun. Now for some tips. I'm 200 pounds and my wife is 130 pounds and she gets on one side with my 35 pound son and it takes us all no problem. Your results may vary and use judgment but I'm just saying that to demonstrate its strength. If you want you can tie a bag of sand or weight on one side and spin a child on one side to dampen the teeter totter action. You can also insert something to stop the teeter totter action and just get merry go round action. If you have a strong stomach you can get this thing spinning so quickly you will feel queasy. This has been a great purchase! We set it up inside while we have snow outside. Easy to put together, much more sturdy than the 300# weight limit. When we take it outside this spring, we’ll make some seat covers to protect the fabric as per other reviews. We have already had friends ask for the link to buy their own! It’s fun!! ... show more

We came across this item incidentally while researching ideas & options for our kids' big "Santa" present this past Christmas. This is such a sturdy and durable item that does withstand weathering seasons and lumps & bumps from being moved from one yard of our home to another. I have not found anything else priced just under 150 dollars that 2 kids, (ages 7 & 11),could both simultaneously enjoy together. The steel frame is stout enough for two grown adults to ride it just as the kiddos do but it is still light enough in overall assembled weight to pick up and move whenever needed. My only hesitation is allowing younger riders to use it. While this is infact one of the most fun outdoor playthings we've ever seen, this item could no doubt injure people if misused. The 360 degree spinning function of the main seesaw apparatus spins simultaneously while also allowing riders to perform the up and down motion of an ordinary seesaw. The speed at which this spins when in use is controlled bthe riders Thank God our kids are mature enough to understand the "why's" or "reasons" of the safety rules that we set before them. ... show more
