    • Great Compact Tripod With Excellent Ball Head
For the price, the GWNNSH Tripod is a great lightweight Tripod. It was much smaller and lighter than I was expecting, but it is definitely worth it. There are some things that I particularly like about this Tripod. GOOD Size/Weight This Tripod is a nice small compact lightweight size. I wanted a Tripod that I could take with me when I do short photo walks. I was tired of carrying around my big heavy tripod and I needed one when I would leave it at home. This Tripod is small and light and I can bring it with me everywhere. I usually carry a Camera Messenger Bag and I am able to put the Tripod bag around the Messenger Bag so I can carry both together. It fits perfect and does not add too much weight. Ball Head The Ball Head I particularly like the most. It has smooth Panoramic functions, tension controls, compact size, and Arca Swiss Plate. When I do not feel like carrying the Tripod around. I will put the Ball Head onto my small Octopus Tripod. It fits nicely on there. The handle used for Panoramic movements can be unscrewed. This makes it even more compact when using it with my Octopod. Also, the Ball Head on my more expensive heavy tripod, is not even this good. Telephoto Lens/Macro Slider I honestly was weary about putting my Vivitar 650-1300mm Lens on here, but this Tripod does hold it. It is definitely a little wobbly when it is fully extended. But it does hold it. I also, put my 4-Way Macro Slider on here and it held it nicely and I am able to get some nice shots with it. Adjustments This Tripod has quite a few different heights, angles, and configurations. I mostly use this tripod in the standard position and sometimes with the legs in the spread out position. I do not usually turn the middle portion upside down, but it is nice to have that option. GRIPES So far, there is nothing Bad about this Tripod. However, there are a couple of Gripes I do have about it. Middle Nob The Nob used to higher and lower the Middle portion of the Tripod is a bit cheap. Everytime I tighten the Nob it makes a bit of noise and feels like it is going to break. So far it hasn’t broken, but it is the only part of Tripod that I have to be gentle with. All the other Nobs and Screws on the Tripod are much better and I have had no problems with them. Grease The Angle Adjustment Nobs do have some grease in them and sometimes it gets on your fingers when you adjust them. Hopefully, with many adjustments, the grease will go away. Bag The Bag is not terrible, but it is not great either. It works, but I do wish it was better. The thickness and quality is fine. I just do not like the straps. It is a shoelace type of strap that cannot be adjusted. So it is very hard to carry around. For me, it can barely fit over my shoulder and when you carry it by hand, the straps is a little too long, so it just hangs. All in all, this is a great Tripod for the price. I would definitely recommend this Tripod. I did purchase it around $20. This was the same price I purchased an Amazon Basics 50 Inch Tripod for. In comparison, the GWNNSH Tripod is far superior to most Tripods in the same price range. You get a lot for your money. ... show more

I picked up one of these tripods a few weeks ago. After the first use, the ball head did have issues holding the weight of my camera rig firmly for video, (Nikon D7200 with a Nikon 200-500 5.6 lens). This has got to be the best tripod I have ever used! Understand though, I haven't used very many tripods in the past. I am familiar with the Amazon Basics "50-inch Lightweight tripod with bag" and the Amazon Basics "60-inch Lightweight tripod with bag" and both of these tripods are fine. The 50-inch ABT is a great little tripod for a stationary GoPro or similarly small camera/camcorder. The 60-inch ABT can easily handle a much larger camera/camcorder but the removable 1/4" threaded quick-release plate is about the same for both and is marginal at best and catastrophic at worst. The 66" DSLR Camera Tripod sold by JoyEveryDay has a quick plate the is sturdy, full metal, and locks into place with utter confidence. I have mounted my Nikon Coolpix P900, a 2 lbs super zoom, with confidence on this tripod at very precarious angles and not worried about it falling. The clamps for the leg extensions and tight but not overly so. One of the legs unscrews to become a mono-pod and is prefect for tight quarters, actions sports, or where a more lightweight stabilization is necessary. This tripod, where not as light as the Amazon Basic alternatives, is not heavy. It is easily carried for long distance and deployed easily. The head on this unit is FANTASTIC and is probably the most important feature this tripod comes with. The movement is smooth as butter and locks into place with a twist of the knob. The legs fold back on themselves to make this tripod super portable for its size and are capable of being released at multiple different angles allowing this tripod to go on uneven terrain where other tripods would suffer. I would greatly recommend this tripod to anyone getting into professional photography or cinema! ... show more

I honestly don't understand why some of the other aluminum tripod listings are well above the $100 range. This tripod has everything they offer and then some. In comparison to ones with similar features: this one weighs less than average (2.99lbs vs 4lbs), also has all-metal construction, smooth operation on all moving parts and knobs, multiple bubble levels, and looks pretty damn nice. Not to mention it has a 66" max height. Great for group shots and also comes with a decent carrying case. The only non-issue I have with this is that it's put together quite tightly. Until I sprayed a bit of silicon to smooth out the joints, it was kind of a pain to get the tripod set up. Otherwise this is honestly one of my best purchases to date. *UPDATE 10.2021: Still going strong. I've put it through rain, mud, desert heat and it still functions like new. The only thing that has failed are the rubber feet since the glue that holds them on aren't designed to bond between rubber and aluminum. 2 of them fell off but I was able to get them back on with some zip ties. *UPDATE: So, the advertised net weight of 2.99 is actually a bit misleading. The tripod itself weighs 2.4lbs and the ball head mount is a solid pound on its own. This comes out to a 3.4lbs tripod when all is said and done (on my cheap-o bathroom scale). Was it still worth the $40 I initially paid? Yea. It's still holding up beautifully. Unless you're backpacking on foot across a continent where every ounce counts, this is plenty light for the rest of us who can't afford to drop everything and explore the world. ... show more
