This works but the problem I was having with it. Is that every time it was going to go shut off it kept going on and off and then the same thing when it was ready to turn back on. Also, it only works on a 5000 BTU AC because I tried it on my 8000 and it did not work. I do not recommend this product for anybody unless you do not mind the AC going on and off constantly when it's ready to turn back on or off. I do not use this anymore. I have since ordered a new one with better temperature sensing and range.

Product listing says this thermostat is ETL listed. Nothing on the product itself says that. The relay that switches power on and off is rated at 8 amps. This is NOT sufficient for 1500W at 125 Volts. The relay will likely have a short life. Will it get all melty from handling too much power? I don't know, but I have decided to not find out. I also experienced the jittery on/off cycling mentioned by others.

Update 2.10.24. I dropped by the RV a few weeks ago and to my horror/surprise found one of the units turned on even though it was set to come on at 42 degrees (lowest setting) even though the RV internal temp was about 60 (sunny). I'm scared to open my electric bill this month. The other unit was set to 42 and it was off. These could be 100x better if the three prong plug swiveled 90 or 180 degrees. I've set these (2) up in my RV to keep the temp above freezing when I'm away. I could not put one where I wanted it because the counter was in the way of the outlet. If the outlet on the plug swivelled, then it would have worked. I had to plug another into the bathroom outlet upside down due to the orientation of the outlet (no time/desire to change it). I've got them set down near 42/43 degrees. The thermostat tested out fine when I had them set to come on at 65 before I left.

I got 2 and they do as supposed to. The only thing I don't like is when the temperature is close to turning on, for cooling, it will switch on and off a few times before it stays on. Otherwise I like how it works. Think if I buy another it will be digital to hopefully avoid the start stop when at temp
