TL;DR: Affordable. Perfect size. Durable. Great for note taking. Not great for bullet journaling (because soft cover and ghosting). I am a life-long learner. I'm forever taking online courses, reading, brainstorming, or studying scripture. I love the black covers because it's just a classic look, but I also love the kraft paper covers for doodling on. It takes me back to middle school when I covered my text books with brown paper grocery bags. :) Bonus points for writers: You know those notebooks that are incredibe? I'm talking leather bound, hand-sewn notebooks with pulpy thick paper that makes you sweat with anxiety at every simpering, idiotic thought you might dare to write in it? This is not that. This is a notebook you can live in, where your thoughts can breathe and truly grow. They're nice enough that you can save them on a shelf for later reference, but not nice enough where you'd feel guilty tossing it out later. If you have someone, or yourself, who is a student, a writer, a life long learner, or a combination of the three this is a great purchase/ gift. If you are looking for a notebook for bullet journaling or for using more than just your standard pen, however, I'd suggest getting a notebook with a higher GSM on the paper quality. ... show more

I was very surprised at the quality of the book. I have read bad reviews about the paper. I did not find this to be the case, yes some ghosting, but no worse than Leuchtturm 1917. It is smooth paper and maybe coated. I use my Kaweco fountain pen with medium nib, no bleed. I have used countless journals during the recent bullet journal craze and this one is one of the best for the money. Highly recommend the Cahier. ... show more

Is this the greatest notebook ever ... NO ... but it is excellent for a very low price. It is exactly as described and pictured in the description and I am very pleased. Not soft hard plastic-really disappointed but I love the size. I was trying to find something close to a moleskin journal that I had purchased from Amazon before in the same size and this is not even close it’s cheap hard plastic.

I have been using Cahier lined notebooks for Bullet Journaling for the past several months and thought I'd switch to dot grid to make my page setups easier. The pages in my current notebook are a little thin and show too much of the felt-tip ink from the other side of the page. But I was willing to live with that since the notebooks met my needs in most other ways. I'm really disappointed with this purchase. There are not margins at the top or bottom of the page, which makes it look a bit messy, the pages are even thinner than the lined Cahiers, and the pages are discolored, as you can see in the photos. This bleached-out effect goes for several pages in the front and the back of the notebook. I am returning and moving on from Moleskine Cahier. ... show more

Ugh. I was so excited for these. I planned to use the trio as my 2020 bujo planner. Great price for 3 good sized notebooks and page count. They seem very nice when they arrive. The paper cover does ding up a bit but could be decorated so that's fine. I was on board until I actually started working in it. Unfortunately I sketched out a number of pages in pencil before doing any ink work. And that's where things crumbled. This is one of the worst notebooks for ghosting. A simple ballpoint pen not even pressed hard ghosted terrible. Forget about using any coloring or non ballpoint pens. These wound up being absolutely worthless for me. If you want clean pages where you can't see the previous page's design clear as day avoid these! ... show more

    • Great Notebook - Was missing perforation in half of the book
I ordered a 2nd set of these notebooks because I fully utilized the first set. I ordered the exact same set but found that the paper seems much thinner. There are impressions from my writing that carry over to 3-4 additional pages. I wish that the quality could be consistent.
