As another reviewer pointed out, the stove came with a slight bend in the case, right out of the box. This isn't too surprising, as it's made of light, thin metal. But the fact is that it also doesn't hurt anything, and I was able to bend it back to the desired shape with my fingers. At first, I was afraid that the propane hose might have been omitted, as some other reviewers have found, but I looked closer and there's a sheet of paper describing the location of the hose: it's in the burner compartment that you might otherwise never open, and which you actually MUST remove it before you light the stove, or you might melt it. So then I fired it up with a can of propane I had on hand. It sealed up and operated and lit on the first click, just as I'd expect. Spark is strong. The most important thing in any campstove for me is the ability to control the heat; not just to turn it up to max for boiling water, but also to turn it down low to control the heat when simmering or sauteing. I no longer tolerate "bad camp food" while camping. So I was pleased to find the knob on this stove gave a nice linear control, and closes the burner down to a nice very minimal simmer. So, for the price, I find this to be a highly functional bargain. Yes, it could be constructed more sturdily, but then it would weigh more, and part of the attraction is the light weight -- you'll be travelling or camping with it after all.

I was watching a YouTube Chinese food cooking lession. The lady had bought a butane hob in an Asian store for a fraction of what I paid for mine. I wanted one with a case and good flame control so I bought this. There are lots of less expensive ones around. I struggled at first trying to figure out how to insert the fuel canister. The lever in front must be up, then flip the lever down to lock it into place. I see complaints about these dual fuel hobs not being hot enough on propane. That is the fuel, not a design issue with the stove. I see complaints of the the metal things that the pot rests on actually melting because of the high heat. That is an issue with the operator, not the stove. Butane is hot. Don't leave it on full blast A regular home stove just doesn't get hot enough for a proper stir fry. Chinese restaurants use commercial stoves that get much hotter. I use a big skillet and a wok. There is no room left on my regular 30 inch stove for another pan. Of course all of these are rated for use outside because they don't have proper ventilation. It comes with a hose and regulator for propane. These little butane canisters are a bit expensive. If I go camping where I'm cooking on the stove for a week, I would want to use propane. For one or two meals I don't have to carry heavier propane bottles. I was expecting the case to be made out of flimsy chinesium. It is. I don't expect it to last one camping trip. I'm happy after cooking one dish. It heats really fast, and the flame adjustment is satisfactory.

I bought this so I could get a good sear quickly on a steak in my kitchen. It works great with my cast iron pan. Just crack the sliding glass door a bit to vent the smoke.

I purchased the stove for emergency use. With a propane tank it hooked up easily, started right up, and produced a nice hot flame. None of my local stores carried the butane cans with the notched ring on the top, so I had to order some online which took three weeks to arrive. I haven't tried the butane fuel yet. The rear of the fuel compartment cover was misaligned a little which I realigned - no big problem.

I was hesitating if to buy it initially, and fortunately, I decided to give it a try. It is a real GEM. First of all, it comes in its own plastic case so it is very easy to transport, and I always keep it in my car, just in case! When we go to outdoors, we often buy a big sandwich from Subway. But by the time of the lunch it becomes sad and cold. So I take my stove and GRILL the sandwiches on it. It is a 5 minutes thing, easy peasy, but the lunch is delicious and hot. I bought an additional plate to use with the stove. I believe it is Korean, and you can cook veggies or grill sandwiches on it. See it in one of my reviews. Very useful, easy to clean, big enough for 2 people.,. and more than that - it FITS perfectly on this very stove. So buy them together. Enjoy your outdoors!!!
