- DISCLAIMER - I’ll state up front that even though I receive free products to review through the Vine Voices program, the reviews are mine. They are unbiased and not influenced in any way except by my own observations and experience with the item. If I can’t “tell it like I see it”, I won’t review it! I do reviews two ways for the sake of different people and their level of review tolerance… • For those that just want the basic, “get to the point” info – stick to the SUMMARY section before proceeding to the WRAP-UP and RECOMMENDATION. • If you are one that likes the “whole enchilada - tell me everything you know about this item” kind of review - then read everything. The added DETAILS section (if there is content) contains a little (or a lot) of extra information that might be helpful. I try hard to put together a quality review – sometimes with a lot of details, depending on the product. When it makes sense, I nearly always try to add pictures and/or video(s) to help amplify and better explain the product so one might be more equipped to make a purchase decision. Lastly, regarding videos, you will often find them sped up a little to decrease the time it takes to watch them when they are longer than I wish they were. So, if you notice anything odd about the voice or see things moving faster than they would naturally, you’ll know why. NOTE: If you are curious, extra info concerning the “**” tagged points (if there are any) in the following SUMMARY section is expanded upon in the DETAILS section. If there is no content in the DETAILS section in this review, then check the WRAP-UP section. So, with all that out of the way… - SUMMARY - What I like: • The magnetic utensil holder is a big plus! • The ability to place the caddy in multiple locations depending on your cooker’s design. ** • Moveable hooks that can be placed in the most convenient location for YOUR setup. • The paper towel holder is a nice addition. • No drilling or complicated installation. What I dislike: • I wish the width of the caddy was wide enough so it would hold at least 2 rows of common cooking necessities (spices, bottles, etc.). It will do that for small spice bottles and a few other items. But unfortunately, it is not wide enough to accommodate two-deep larger items in their original containers like oil, some sauces, and common squeeze bottles. Noteworthy (just an FYI): • While the hooks are easily moveable, they are also a little too loose and sometimes fall off when removing items from them or brushing up against them while moving around. It helps to squeeze the ‘attaching end hook’ so it is a tighter fit on the caddy. • If using the caddy on a Blackstone 36” old-style griddle like mine with the grease catcher on the front right rather than the newer design where it is in the center rear, your position choices are fewer than they are on some other models and styles. (see DETAILS for more info) ** - End of Summary - Skip to the WRAP UP and RECOMMENDATION sections if you don't want any DETAILS. - DETAILS - The listing accurately describes this item, so it can be relied upon for the info it provides. Regarding the possible positions for the caddy… Depending on the grill/griddle you have, it could be attached to the left or right shelf in the front of cooker or on the outside ends of either. For my Blackstone 36” griddle I am limited to either the left outside shelf or the right outside. The problem I run into for the left front is that the caddy obstructs the propane tank a little. I suppose it could work, but I may have to remove the caddy when needing to change out the tank. Not a big deal, but I choose to just put it on the right outside end. On the right front position the grease catcher protrudes enough so it is in the way. The shelf is sturdy enough and easily removable with the screw clamps, although as stated earlier I personally wish it was a little bigger to be able to hold more stuff. If for some reason, as attached to your cooker, the caddy is not sturdy enough or sags even though the clamps are as tight as they can be, you might be able to firm it all up with a properly sized board or 2x4 placed underneath between the shelf and the clamps for added support. I did not have to do that, but the shelf metal is so thin on mine and the way the clamps are designed they are just maxed out as far as their ability to screw down but do work. - WRAP-UP - All-in all, I really like this caddy and it has helped a great deal with organization and working space around the griddle. I do wish it was wider so it could hold at least 2 rows of common cooking spices and bottles, but none-the-less it is way better than I had. I especially appreciate the magnetic utensil holder, as it was always a challenge deciding where to where to put the spatulas and other tools in between using them and not. The hooks provided are very handy for hot gloves and any plastic utensils that have a hole or loop so they can be hung. They definitely add extra utility value to the caddy – as does the paper towel holder. - RECOMMENDATION – As far as I am concerned, this is $30 well spent, considering the benefits it has brought to my outside cooking experience, so I can absolutely recommend it. I hope the info here has been informative and has helped someone to make a good purchasing decision.
