I've gone through four chainsaws this year and this one out does them all! The other three chainsaws didn't meet my specifications. Either the battery didn't last long enough or some other feature was lacking. But this baby has it all! The battery lasts a very long time compared to other brands. So far I have gotten worn out before the battery died on this thing. The battery indicator on the chainsaw I received shows the first 2/3 of the battery being depleted very quickly, however that last one third seems to take forever to drain. So all in all the battery does last a very long time. Chain Slippage Tip: Many have complained about the chain constantly coming loose on this saw. I experienced this as well until I noticed a little quirk. The bar tensioner doesn't always go in the slot where it should and you can still close the chain/gear cover even if it's not in the right place. On my other chainsaws this is not possible so you would always know if it was in the slot or not. So, the fix is then to just double-check that the tensioner bar is in the slot on the chain bar and you're good to go! Once I started double-checking that I've had no issues with the chain slipping or getting loose quickly. ... show more

I purchased the same Greenworks saw about 8 years ago and used it hard. If Greenworks would not have stopped making the sprocket for the chain (which wears out with heavy use) I would still be using it. I love these battery chainsaws as I hate working on small engines. This new 16-inch saw seems more heavy duty and comes with a larger and more powerful battery. With my older saw, I would work until the battery died. With this 80 amp battery it’s my back that gives out before the battery. A minor complaint: the old saw had a screw knob to remove the cover to the chain when that area needs cleaning or when the chain comes off the bar. The new saw has 2 bolts that needs to be removed with a wrench … a wench supplied but likely to be lost when working in the woods. But overall, this is a great, hardworking saw that I hope lasts as long as the previous Greenworks saw. ... show more

Super fast and the battery lasts a long time between charging. The unit I received isn't feeding the bar and chain enough and I'm going to look at it. Hopefully it's an easy fix, if not, I'm sure they will take it back and replace it. I recommend this saw but just make sure the chain is getting plenty of oil or you will be buying and sharpening chains before you cut up your first tree! ... show more

Had to be talked into buying a battery chain saw and now can't believe I waited so long to do so. Don't need to use one daily but have a large property and use one at least once a month. I was surprised at how well this thing works. Used it to take down a handful of scotch pines, as well as limb & buck them out. Not huge trees, probably 15-20' and maybe 8-10" at the base. When I just have some small jobs and don't want to deal with my gassers, I'll go to this every time. I bought another unit (leaf blower) with a pack, so now I have 2 battery packs to keep on hand and swap between whichever tool I'm running. Battery stops repeatedly, charger flashes red, constant have to pull the battery and reseat it just to get it to run a few minutes or to get it to charge. Never used such a frustrating tool, not recommended. Didn’t need it until the hurricane hit, or I would have returned it!
