  • It Worked Well When it Worked
Size: (500 CFM) Blower, 2.0Ah
After just three uses, the unit failed. Unfortunately, I waited two months to open the box and test it. I keep asking myself, why did I wait so long? At first, it worked wonderfully, and even better than I had expected. It fit my needs perfectly. Thereafter, the unit simply died. Since the 30 days to return the item had elapsed, my only recourse was to explore the warranty. I called GreenWorks and spoke with a very helpful representative in Customer Care. I explained the problem in detail and was told that the basic unit -- not the battery or charger -- had likely malfunctioned. It appears that I'll be taking it to a licensed repair facility -- about 35 miles from my home -- where it will be declared dead on arrival and replaced at some point under the warranty. Not particularly convenient, as the leaves and acorns become knee-deep in my driveway. I'm giving the item two stars -- one for the three remarkable experiences and another star for GreenWorks Customer Care. They tried to be helpful. We'll see how it goes from here. UPDATE: I raised my rating from two stars to four. I took my unit to the licensed repair facility, where it was fixed. As noted above, not very convenient, but the people in the repair shop were immensely helpful, courteous, and efficient. They returned the unit to GreenWorks and obtained a replacement, all under warranty and without any charge to me. The entire process took a few weeks. As it turns out, a switching device in the main unit was not operating properly -- and the charger may have also had a problem, so it was replaced. Since then, I'm back to loving this cordless leaf blower. It's relatively quiet, clean (no exhaust), and more than powerful enough for my yard and large driveway. The fully-charged battery lasts longer than I had expected, given my experience with other cordless yard devices. I'd give it the full five stars if the original hadn't been defective. So, here's the deal: if you get a good one on your first try, congratulations, you've got a very nice cordless leaf blower; if the one you receive is defective, plan on investing some time and effort in replacing it -- although, in the end, you'll also have a very nice cordless leaf blower. Good luck. UPDATE: I raised my rating again from four stars to five. My Greenworks leaf blower has worked flawlessly for over **five** years since it was repaired. I consider this purchase one of the best I've ever made on Amazon. It's in my Amazon Hall of Fame! Quiet and clean. Efficient and reliable. Who could ask for more? ... show more

  • I'm Loving Greenworks Yard Tools
Size: (580 CFM) Blower, 2.5Ah
I recently purchased the Greenworks 80v Chainsaw after reading so many good reviews from professionals, and was shocked to have it perform better than my gas 42cc chainsaw. I cut quite a bit of fresh hardwood and it cut through it like butter. It also never ran out of battery power and quickly recharged. Lots of power and well made. So I decided that battery powered yard tools with enough power have finally arrived, and I purchased this Greenworks 80v Leaf Blower, and it just confirmed that these tools clearly do have the power and battery life to allow me to get rid of my gas powered yard tools. This leaf blower is more than powerful enough for my needs. I put it to work on my 250' stone driveway that is covered by trees, and it was great even with multiple layers of leaves. If they last as long as most have claimed, I'll never buy a gas powered yard tool again. So much easier. ... show more

  • More power!!!
Size: (580 CFM) Blower, 2.5Ah
This is a powerful leaf blower. I love that you can control the power at the trigger. A friend had one...I used it once to clean off his driveway when he was out of town,,,WOW...I ordered this when I returned home. I was truly impressed by the performance of this blower.

  • Time to cut the cord
Size: (500 CFM) Blower, 2.0Ah
This blower definitely packs the power you need to get the job done. If you are in doubt about that, don't be. The ONLY major caveat is the run time of the battery. The blower only runs about 15 minutes at full speed, then it requires a recharge. The battery requires about 15 minutes in the fridge to cool down after use before you can charge it, and then takes just about exactly 30 minutes to fully charge. So, if you are using this around the house it is pretty ideal for the task. But if you want to use it for a living, the charging time is going to be a deal breaker. You can't just buy extra batteries either because the battery alone costs as much as the entire tool with charger - go figure. I own a half acre property with all desert rock landscaping and a ton of oleanders which drop a lot of leaves every 5 years or so. It took me about 6 charge cycles to finish my yard with this blower, about 90 minutes total run time or 15 minutes on each charge. Mind you I only do this ONCE every 5 years so if I did it more often I could probably do the whole yard on one or 2 charges. PROS AND CONS: PROS: 1: far more pleasant to use than an electric blower with cord - towing the cord is a major hassle. 2: WAY quieter than those annoying contraptions the pro landscapers use. 3: reasonably lightweight and easy to handle CONS: 1: only 15 minutes of run time at full strength per charge 2: the battery requires about 15 minutes to cool down before you can recharge it after use, and the charging takes 30 minutes. 3: the charger itself makes a lot of noise, like a loud fan. Not sure why - seems crazy to me:). WHAT I'D LIKE TO SEE IN THE NEW IMPROVED MODEL: 1) MAKE IT PINK instead of green. yeah i know it isn't called PINKworks, but it should be:). 2) The battery should have a run time of 60 minutes at full speed. 3) The charger should be QUIET. 4) It would be nice if there were a shorter nozzle attachment or perhaps a flexible hose like a vacuum to make it easier to get into tight spaces adjacent to walls. 5) There should be a trigger hold switch to keep the blower running without having to keep your finger on the trrigger. All in all I am happy so far - if it lasts for at least 5 years I will consider it a winner - time will tell:). ... show more
