  • Long last battery, Heavy
Size: 12" 2.0Ah
This is a powerful snow shovel. The battery is huge and charges within 60 minutes. It is heavy- 20lbs. It is to heavy for my arthritic hands, but it works great for my husband. We have an 8 car drive and the battery lasts through multiple shoveling. I wish it had a directional vane on it. The noise level is very quiet. It does not work well if you have lots of leaves under your snow. It can get clogged, but it very easy to clear the clog. Overall it has been a great investment for us. I also love that I can charge my battery when we know snow is coming and it is ready to use. Plus we don’t have to worry about maintenance on the machine to store in the off season. ... show more

  • A back saver.
Size: 12" 2.0Ah
I love this thing! I was very hesitant purchasing it, but as usual, did a lot of research on battery operated snow shovels. It was a Black Friday deal so the price was right. It was the easiest thing I ever had to put together. I live on Lake Erie so we get hit with a lot of snow. The Greenworks shovel slid through a snowy, slushy mess like butter! I thought for sure that it would bog down because of the heaviness of the ice and snow, but it kept on going! It seems pretty durable. I had my driveway and sidewalk cleared in a fraction of the usual time it takes to hand shove and my back feels so much better for it. The shovel threw the snow pretty far. The only thing I don't care for is that it is heavy and that you can't control where the snow is directed. But, on the other hand, the heaviness of it digs into the snow and leaves a clean sweep. Unfortunately, the snow gets shot straight out the front of the shovel without being able to direct it. I live in an older neighborhood so the houses are fairly close together. I had to plan ahead so the snow wouldn't hit my neighbors houses. I wasn't able to use this as a shovel. It is too heavy, but I drug it back and forth which worked out ok. My driveway is a longer driveway because of a detached garage but this little shovel's battery never pooped out. I still had power to go after I got done. I used a regular shovel for my stairs because of the Greenworks heaviness and because of the way my stairs are positioned. I suppose being a 68 year old woman might have something to do with my lake of strength (heavy sigh). All in all, I'm pretty happy with the Greenworks 80V Snow Shovel. ... show more

  • Works great for my purpose
Size: 12" 2.0Ah+LED
Dec 2025 I live in Minnesota, we get snow. I purchased this snow shovel because I'm in my mid 70's and shoveling my two 8 x 16 decks by hand is getting harder for me. I've had high expectations for this snow shovel as it was rated as the #1 pick on Consumer reports. I'm not disappointed. Today we are expecting up to 15" of heavy wet snow. I went out with the snow shovel for the first time today and did both of my decks. We've gotten about 4 inches so far. It really did a nice job of getting right down to the deck boards and clearing the snow. I am so impressed as this was really heavy wet snow. I am surprised at so many of the poor reviews BUT I can understand why. This snow shovel doesn't have the ability to direct the snow. It's straight forward period. If I were doing a big driveway I don't think I'd be very impressed since it is lacking the ability of directing the snow left or right. For my purpose of blowing off my decks I didn't need this feature. This snow shovel is it is a bit heavy. I can handle heavy so this isn't an issue for me. Some people may have an issue with lifting or pushing the 17-20 pounds that it weighs. Overall, this is absolutely perfect for me. ... show more

  • Heavy to use.
Size: 12" 2.0Ah
I encountered my first snowfall today with my Greenworks 80 v power snow shovel. The snow was wet , heavy and about 5 - 6 in. deep. The shovel was able to pick up and throw the snow without a problem. However, I found the device very heavy to use. I adjust the handgrip on the shaft and that helped some. Keeping the shovel somewhat level and holding it low to the ground also helped. The shovel is powerful but very heavy to use. Unless you are young and quite strong, I’d look for a lighter model. I will however continue to use the shovel on lighter and less deep snow. ... show more

  • Don't buy this product
Size: 12" 2.0Ah
This item is heavy to use and does not work on anything but the smoothest of surfaces. Even then I have to bend excessively at the waist. I do not recommend this product and wish I could return it. I bought it in anticipation of winter and now that winter is here and I can use it, I find it is useless. ... show more

  • Works great - but a little heavier than I expected- see review
Size: 12" 2.0Ah
I have had a snowjoe electric shovel for years and it is really lightweight- however it did not throw the snow as far as the Greenworks one - I did give it a 5 as it’s works great - only had it for one season so far - and it did not disappoint me. So Here was the real test- just added this to the review. ——————- I am adding to this review on Dec 15 ‘25 - We had 7” on snow Dec 14 - My Driveway is 250’ long and very wide in front of our carport - Well guess what did the whole thing with this electric shovel- I took some short breaks - and did tight areas and steps with a hand shovel- took about 4 hours - but mission accomplished- Also - I went through 4 2.5 batteries in total - good news is I have many batteries so this did not slow me down- Another point I would like to make a comment about any electric shovel with batteries- The run time is reduced due to low temperature- In my case 28 degrees f- batteries do not like the cold - So if you live in an area that is really cold cold - a battery operated shovel from any manufacturer will have a short battery capacity, run time. ————————— So as mentioned it works great - but it is a bit on the heavy side - So just be aware- The showjoe one I mentioned is half the weight but only throws half as much snow - hope this helps. ... show more
