While the performance of this blower, in terms of wind speed and volume, is not nearly as good as my 80v Greenworks blower, it does a fine job at clearing leaves. The lower speed/volume is more than offset by the lower weight -- this is a breeze to use (no pun intended) for long stretches compared with the 80v blower. This is my go-to for clearing leaves off of hard surfaces, and for clearing leaves off of mulched planting beds since it is far less likely to move the mulch than my 80v. Once all the leaves are out of the planting beds and off the patio & driveway, I use the 80v blower to move the piles to the curb. This 40v one could also do that, but the 80v is better suited to moving large piles quickly. It uses the same 40v Greenworks as all the other tools in the 40v collection. I find it works fine (in terms of usable run time) with the 2.5Ah battery, but larger capacity 40v ones can also be used. The controls are simple, and I like that it uses a dial rather than a trigger. For me, it makes it easier to use with my arthritis. Not the most powerful one out there, but it holds its own while keeping the weight and arm/hand fatigue to a minimum. Five stars. ... show more

Light weight ,battery powered blower mostly suitable for hard surfaces. Battery life (as usual)is less than expected. Two problems surfaced during use .First,the on/off switch is too small and recessed so it not usable with gloves and is not easily usable even without gloves . Second,the batteries are very difficult to get in the blower and charger and are just about impossible to remove from the blower or charger . ... show more

    • Great lightweight blower that works well on lightweight jobs

Plug-in power is exchanged for battery convenience, and I love the convenience, but I have two issues. First is that it doesn't blow very hard. Loose stuff blows easily, but if it's stuck to the ground with water, the blower just doesn't have the oomph to move it along. Second, the battery doesn't last very long. I was using the 2Ah and it went out in a little over 12 minutes. I have a 4Ah but I hesitate to add the extra weight. Fortunately most of her jobs only require 10-12 minutes. Light weight is one of the greatest attributes of this blower. It's so light it's easy to control, even with arthritis. My wife is the one who asked for this and since it uses the same batteries that I use on the chain saws it was a good option. We are very happy with it and just deal with the limitations. So if it has two issues, why do I still love it? Because all battery powered blowers have this limitation. Plus, since I have other greenworks battery powered tools I can share batteries and chargers and save money. If you don't mind the lower power of batter, then I highly recommend it. ... show more

This is not the best blower, but it does ok for small leaf projects like your driveway or walkway. I have been on a "GreenWorks purchasing spree this year starting with the GreenWorks MO40L2512 G-MAX 40V 21'' Brushless Dual PH Mower with Two 2.5AH" then the "GreenWorks 22332 G-MAX 40V 24-Inch Cordless Hedge Trimmer with Rotating Handle, Battery and Charger Not Included" and then this "GreenWorks 24282 G-MAX 40V 150 MPH Variable Speed Cordless Blower, Battery and Charger Not Included". Overall I've been fairly pleased with Greenworks products. The Lawn Mower is fantastic.I absolutely love it. I've been using the 40V 2.5 AH batteries between the mower, Hedge Trimmer and Blower which is nice but it's probably worth it to spend some more $$ and upgrade the battery to the 5.0 AH. The Blower is fine for smaller leaf drops like common trees. The problem is that I have a huge (2nd largest in town) walnut tree that drops a lon of large leaves all over the property so 150 mph doesn't quite do the job. I also have a "Toro 51621 UltraPlus Leaf Blower Vacuum, Variable-Speed (up to 250 mph) with Metal Impeller, 12 amp" but so far no company produces a wireless non-gas battery operated blower in this price range capable of producing up to 250 mph that I have found. Every product I have purchased from Greenworks so far this year has been great. This blower I am keeping because like I said it does great in the driveway and walkway but for my needs I really need some powerful wind to blow large leaves.in heavily covered areas. This isn't the blower for that kind of setting. ... show more
