  • Easy to use and cuts well
Size: 12" (2.0Ah) Gen 1 Pattern Name: Chainsaw
I've been needing a chainsaw for 10 years but was always too intimidated by them - handling, mixing gas, starting, blade - too much! Then I got this one - I like the electric aspect, and this one is not too large and heavy, but still big enough to cut through windfall downed trees. I've been impressed with how easy it is to handle, and the battery lasts plenty long enough for my jobs. It was easy to put together, the hand grip is comfortable, and cut quality is great. The oil reservoir makes keeping it well oiled simple and fool proof for this non-mechanical person. A great tool that's been easy to use without being intimidating/scary. ... show more

  • Always check the oil level and try to keep up with the chain sharpening the tips
Size: 12" (2.0Ah) Gen 1 Pattern Name: Chainsaw
I just am in love with it. Great and works perfectly and good for hard work around chopping and cutting log wood, branches and few bunch and more😉 really useful little tool.

  • Good saw for its size
Size: 12" (2.0Ah) Gen 1 Pattern Name: Chainsaw
I like the light weight and the easy set up of this saw. This is my first battery saw so I have nothing to compare it to since I have only used gas saws before. It’s certainly easier and quicker, quieter than my gas saws. The saw worked just fine on the first few test cuts I made and the battery was still fully charged after I made those cuts. Because it is so light it bounces a bit during cutting so you have to hold it firmly. The real test will come when I take it camping. The only thing that could be better is that unit would have more aggressive teeth or even steel teeth on the front of the case to help the saw bite into the log you are cutting. I would give it 5 stars if that improvement were added. ... show more

  • Nice saw
Size: 12" (2.0Ah) Gen 2 Pattern Name: Chainsaw
Great little saw for cutting limbs and small trees. Pretty light weight and not as noisy as a gas saw. So far it has started every time. The battery charges quickly and lasts about as long as I do. I am very pleased with it.

  • Beginner Friendly!
58 year old female, first time chain saw user here. I have two acres, fenced, with trees surrounding it. After a storm, it’s inevitable that branches or a limb are going to end up on the fence, or in the yard. The snow/ice storm we had in early December, dropped a tree limb on one of the fence sections. I can’t afford to hire someone every time this happens, so I bought this little saw. It’s completely assembled, and very easy to use. I bought the battery separately, and then had to buy the charger separately too, which I didn’t realize. So keep that in mind. The battery was fully charged in about two hours. Locks into place easily. Filled it with oil, easily too. My one issue is that the oil level “window” is white, rather than clear, which makes it difficult to see the oil level. The saw starts and operates by pressing and holding a lever back with your index finger, while pressing down with your thumb on a safety button on top. I really like this feature. It stops immediately if your thumb comes off the safety button! The saw is light weight, and the blade length is perfect. Not unwieldy at all. It cut through the fallen tree limbs quite easily. I wouldn’t try to cut down a whole tree with it, but for your average fallen branches, limbs, and brush, it’s perfect! Since the battery operates different yard tools also, I plan to buy a hedge trimmer and maybe a weed whacker this spring. To be honest, I was very nervous about using a chainsaw, but this little machine helped me get over my fears. Although I am still VERY careful when dealing with it! ... show more

  • A great little chainsaw for what it is.
I bought this little chainsaw because I already had other tools in the system, and thought I would take a chance with it - I figured it would help with pruning at the least. Previously I had used a corded chainsaw, so I thought that not having to drag that behind the unit would be a real benefit, and it is. I had a chance to use it a lot for the past 3 days, as we had the most snow I've seen in 18 years at my home in the foothills of the Sierra, which did a lot of damage to my Evergreens. It ran like a trooper, cutting smoothly and with enough power to cut 6" branches with ease. I generated about 20 cubic yards of waste (did I mention these were big ones!) and it handled this resinous wood with easy; I did give it a thorough cleaning at the end of each day, to remove the buildup of chips and resin. The saw does have a lot of internal nooks and crannies to catch all that, so an acid brush and a pick helped with that. Battery life was great - the first day, I used about 25%, the second 50% and the third 25%, and this with a four year old 4.0 Ah battery. You do need to be diligent about keep the oil filled, as it seems to use a bit more than my corded one - this may be because the reservoir is smaller. If you buy this saw, you will need a 5/32" chainsaw file to keep it sharp, along with a flat file. This is a small chainsaw, so you are not going to be starting a logging business with it. But for small jobs around the property, or to throw in your jeep, it might just do the trick, especially if you already have an investment in the Greenworks system, which is a pretty good one. ... show more
