Finally! The Answer! I moved my old (but beloved) very heavy Tempurpedic mattress to my downstairs bedroom. I kept its foundation. upstairs for the newer bed in a box I purchased. Upstairs was just fine, but the bedframe downstairs just could not adequately support that super heavy mattress. The mattress would sink in between the slats. I tried 2 other options and those didn't work any better. My third try is this box spring that just arrived. Honestly, it is PERFECT! Nothing to put together, no slats to wrestle with, etc. Put one half on the frame....slide it over and put the other half on the frame.....flop that super heavy mattress down on top of those.....get on the bed to see if it would work.....and YES! This feels as sturdy as my upstairs setup with the "regulation" Tempurpedic base underneath the Tempurpedic mattress. So glad I bought this....worth every penny! ... show more

These are nice and sturdy, appears well made. But, these are in no way "Box Springs". There is absolutely now springs or springy devices in these "boxes". They are rigid. Two main points. Actually three points. First, the quality is fantastic. Very well made and materials used are top notch. Second, this is perfect for anyone who has a steep staircase with low ceilings. I moved and my queen sized box spring would not fit up the stairs and I was gutted. Third, it's not too heavy and can be lifted by one person. How convenient is that? I swear they need to do away with one piece box springs altogether as these are the way to go.
