I bought these for a Queen sized bed that I bought from a certain Scandinavian furniture store. I bought the bed years ago and put it in storage (my garage) when I sized up to a King for the era where I had my little kids in bed with us. In the meantime, the wooden slats disappeared from the garage. I looked to replace the slats from the original store but they have changed their style and I wanted the original kind. These slats are slightly less wide than the original ones but they are also closer together. They fit correctly and I didn’t have to shave the ends off although they were a teensy bit tighter of a fit which is actually not a problem. I’ve got my heavy mattress on them and none have broken. So much better than a box spring! We replaced our mattress and our new one was much thicker so we had to replace our box spring with slats. This gave our mattress the firmness we desired. Photo of the product on the cream colored bed isû not the product you will be getting, big suprise right! Description of the product states the slats are spaced a few inches apart. To me "A few" means 3 inches. I received the sturdier heavy duty slats today and as I am putting them on my bed I notice they are spaced more than a few inches apart. Measured the space in between as 5 and 5/8 inches apart. That is almost 6 inches of space not supporting my mattress. I should have known with the price being significantly cheaper than other products Amazon sells. I already have metal slats on my bed with that much distance between. Heavy duty slats nearly 6 inches apart from one another. Thats hardly heavy duty. I have definately learned that you never get a good deal on anything. You get what you pay for. These are going back because I'm not paying $70 or even $5 to get the same support for my mattress that I already have. If you weigh less than 100 pounds these heavy duty slats should work for you.
