  • The upgraded features are worth the extra few bucks!!
We originally had the 35 XT SnugRide car seat in color Emory but were in an car accident and our insurance strongly suggested we get a new car seat. It wasn’t a major accident but the 35 XT kept our son safe! When replacing the seat, our original was out of stock so I upgraded to the Platinum. This car seat is so worth the extra $40! The padded head rest cradles infants head and the height of this head rest can easily be adjusted with one hand on the back of the car seat. The seat pad is much more cushioned and harness adjuster is a simple exposed button that you press to loosen the harness. The handle is adjusted with one button in the middle. This alone is worth the extra money for me! So many times I’ve had baby in my arms and need the handle pushed back to set baby in seat but you need two hands to move the handle. Now I can hold sleeping baby and adjust handle without waking him. The sun shade is a quiet breathable material that covers baby more than the 35 XT. The base of this car seat is the upgraded, more expensive one that tightens the belt without trying to hand tighten it yourself. Our local fire department told us to use the seat belt instead of LATCH system because base sits flat and tight against seat and doesn’t lift up during accident. My husband drives a Ram and his middle chest belt doesn’t tighten and when you think it does, it doesn’t STAY tight. This base fixes that issue. I’m not a huge fan of the color combo, a little muted and gray for me but I do like the heather brown/gray color of the seat and head cushions. Overall, I’d. It this car seat over the 35 XT. So many upgraded features that are worth the extra money, especially when you considered baby will be in this seat for at least the first year. ... show more

  • All the right features
I havent used this car seat yet so will update accordingly at a later date. However, out of the box, I'm thoroughly impressed. Purchased for my 6th baby. So I'm no stranger to carseats and features. This one had every feature important to me. The fabric is great. T shirt type material, soft. Lots of padding. Which was important to me as we are very rural and baby needs to be in the seat for extended periods of time. I had issues in the past with my babies fussing in other seats because they were hard and uncomfortable. So I appreciate the extra comfort. With that, I anticipate this seat to hold heat tho. One handed handle operation. This is a great feature. All too many times, mamas are holding a sleeping baby and trying to transfer to a car seat, only to find the handle forward as we juggle holding baby and trying to get a handle back with 2 hands. The one handed operation is a timesaver. I've played with it enough that I dont foresee a problem accidently moving the handle. Adjustable crotch snap. This feature is wonderful for a growing baby. Too many carseats have the buckle set in one place and lil babies are slouching and bigger babies are pinched. So to be able to move closer/further away with growth is a great security and comfort factor. No puzzle lock. OMG...who's idea was that anyway? I detest puzzle locks. This one buckles in, straight, from each side without having to twist and turn the 2 buckles together before inserting into the latch. The headrest and buckles seem to be easy to move. Just a button to press and pull to adjust. I've had too many carseats that straps had to literally be removed and rethreaded. It's a pain. I already appreciate the ease of adjustments with this one. Same with the harness. A button to press to loosen and tighten when putting baby in and removing. The boot. I live in cold weather. The boot is a great extra feature. My complaint on this one...it doesnt securely attach. Merely clips on. I can already forsee it sliding. So we will see. I may make some amendments to it to attach it more securely. The canopy is the best. You can literally pull it down completely to the boot. No more sunshine beaming in babys face. There is a mesh window towars the back for airflow and to let you peek in. The base seems simple and solid to install. It also includes a feature to lock a seatbelt into place that would otherwise slide, requiring an additional metal lock, in the past, to be placed on seatbelts to circumvent. Yes, latch is included as well. ... show more

  • Great Car Seat
This is a great car seat. The material is soft. I love how easy it is to adjust the shoulder straps. I love the clock connect base. It’s easy to install in the car (I used the hooks on the car seat rather than the seatbelt method, but either way works great.) the level on the base is a big plus to know if the car seat is installed correctly. Only things I wish were different: 1. The canopy gets stuck on the carrier handle. It will go through and come down. You just have to do a little wiggling on it. It seems as though the canopy is too wide to fit through the handle with ease. But I love how far down I can pull the canopy to cover baby when taking outside! It goes down much rather than the average canopy. 2. The material isn’t very breathable. My baby gets hot very easily, and he definitely overheats in this car seat. To fix the problem, I just bought a small battery powered fan that clips to his car seat and stroller. ... show more

  • Reliable, safe, but a little heavy...
If you are looking for a safe infant car seat this is the one for you. It is one of the best of the best on the market right now. The nurses at the hospital were so impressed with the padding that comes with this thing. Note: you should NEVER add any accessories to your car seat that didn’t come with it or haven’t been crash tested with it. My baby left the hospital at a little over six lbs., and he was snug as a bug. I love the Click Connect features as it makes transferring him from the car to the house or the stroller a breeze. The one handed adjustable handle is incredibly convenient, as I don’t have to fiddle around with it and reach over my little guy. I shopped for hours trying to find the perfect product for my little man, and I’m happy to report that this one is it. Forewarning however, this product is not the lightest thing. I’d rather my baby have the extra safety features than compromise them for a lighter model. I hope this was helpful! ... show more

  • Great car seat
Love this car seat! So easy to use. The only thing that I was bummed to find out was, the bottom part that appears to be a cover for the feet to stay warm doesn’t attach too well. Kind of awkwardly slips on. I ended up purchasing a product to zip all the way around anyways. I would definitely buy this again. ... show more
