  • Best. Baby Purchase. EVER!
Color: Boone Gray Style: OG DualRide
This is hands down, the best baby purchase I’ve ever made. The infant seat we used with our first two children expired and I went back and forth on this because of the price tag and the fact that this would be our last baby. I ultimately decided it would be worth it and chose this over the Doona because I liked the fact that the wheels could come off if needed. I’m so glad we chose this seat! It made life with two other children in car seats much more convenient with the quick in and out. I loved being able to have the wheels come off for when we took her into the house and if the seat needed to fit in the big basket of a shopping cart. I felt as though there was a little learning curve with folding the wheels, but learned quickly! It was just somewhat intimidating with a tiny baby in there, so I’d recommend practicing first! The stroller handle extends high enough for my husband and I to push comfortably (5’8” and 5’11”) and when the handle is all the way down, my kids loved to be able to push too! Installation with the base is super easy, but the European belt path option made it simple to install in a car without a base using only the seatbelt. I also LOVED how long she was able to stay in the seat. The baby can be 35 pounds and 32 inches and the headrest is adjustable so no retreading straps. Our little one was able to stay in the seat until past one year (she could have stayed in for a little longer, but we passed the seat to a friend having a baby.) The included photo shows our baby’s first trip and last in the seat! You won’t regret this purchase! ... show more

  • Very thankful from a toddler mom, comparison with a Doona
Color: Boone Gray Style: OG DualRide
I looked into upgrading my car seat when baby #2 was on the way which led to many hours comparing the two main options (Doona = D, and this shyft dual Ride= SDR to not make this review an entire book). I am writing this review in hopes to summarize my experiences with both and so you can have all the info in one place. I bought the SDR with my own money and borrowed a D from a friend to compare the two, so there is no outside influence in my review! My situation: at the time baby #2 arrived, my toddler was very busy, mobile and almost 2. I previously used a Graco infant carrier for #1. We have multiple cars in the family but only drive one when we have both children (can be a deciding factor if you have to install car seat itself without a pre installed base). I am not a car seat tech or in the trade by any means. Pros - The big pro for me is that the wheels and seat detach from each other (ONLY WHEN IN THE BASE IN THE CAR- this in itself if a con). In other words, you can leave the wheel part in the car seat base and carry in only an infant carrier. This is a major plus when grocery shopping, there are many carts (Target most definitely) that the whole folded up seat+wheels either don't fit or take up the entire cart. So if I need a cart when shopping, I detach the seat and leave the wheels in the car seat base. It is NOT easy to push a cart and the car seat when in stroller mode at the same time so this was a make or break decision for me! (The D wheels do NOT detach) - when searching for information comparing the two main options (D vs SDR) one thing I saw a lot was that the people fumbled a lot when trying to convert from the wheels out to wheels in. After using the SDR for months, I do not find it awkward. The movements and which botton you press become muscle memory and I genuinely don't have to think about what to do. - no rethread harness- something I did not know I needed. This means that to move where the shoulder straps are, you do NOT have to *flip it over, unhook the straps, move the straps, reposition, reattach*. It is like most convertible car seats where there is a handle you pull up/push down. I feel like I am better at moving the straps when needed (straps are at or just below shoulder level per instruction manual) to keep baby as safe as possible. The baby can be in the seat and I can one handed adjust the straps- A+ for this feature. (D has the more difficult rethread harness- system, this is not a deal breaker to me as I was accustomed to it with my Graco) - Manual is offered as a pdf online (as are most other brands), just a good to know fact. I keep my manual in the door of the car but the online pdf is useful when you want to reference on the go. - the umbrella is really big, bigger than most infant seats (much bigger compared to D) - I can't get over how functional the stroller feature is, especially with a toddler running around too. It is a feature I can't imagine living without now. - Car seat handle can be in any locked position when in the car so you don't have to adjust the handle when getting in/out of the car. (Per instruction manual) - wheel locks are easy to use, just step on one side or both. - I anticipate I will use this infant carrier longer than I used to Graco solely because I don't have to physically carry the child+carrier. Once my #1 reached ~12-15lbs, carrying the infant carrier got to be a big task so I switched to using the rear facing convertible car seat before maxing out the height or weight on the Graco. Since I don't carry this one much, I foresee us using it much longer. - ***comes with the car seat base*** The fact that this came with the car seat base was a huge plus financially. The car seat base stays installed in the car so when loading baby up, all you have to do is lift the baby unit (seat+wheels as one unit) into the base until it clicks. When I was shopping most sets of the D did not offer this and it was an additional lump sum to get the base. - the car seat base is A+ also with the easier install lever you push down on and a rebound bar which deserves it's own write up ----> - the rebound bar (plastic part of the car seat base that covers the back of the vehicle seat) is an additional safety feature AND keeps the back of you actual vehicle seat a lot cleaner/scuff free. - this came with an optional attachable bag and cup holder which seems like nice features but as a slightly unorganized and overly busy mom, I've never used either. Great ideas though - TRAVEL. A car seat stroller combo like this is GREAT FOR TRAVEL. We used the car seat for baby on the drive to the airport, pushed baby in the stroller through the airport+security, gate checked in a car seat travel bag at the airport, and installed in the rental car. Con - Weight. This thing is a hog at 19.7lbs when the wheels and infant carrier are together. I would recommend thinking about how much you may need to carry the entire set up. I have to lift it in and out of the car and up our three stairs, but can do so without a problem. The rest of the time I either push it in stroller mode or detach just the infant car seat which is lighter by itself. - the biggest con for me is that you can only detach the wheels when it is in the car seat base. So you cannot leave your wheels in your house; they alone will not detach by themselves, only in the base. This probably is not a big deal to most- it's only an issue to me bc of my toddler's rotating car seat being installed right next to the SDR base, so when the wheels are left in the car (which only happens on grocery store visits), my toddler's car seat is blocked from being able to turn. Again, probably not an issue to 98% of the targeted audience. - the umbrella does not fully shut when the shoulder straps have been adjusted higher - additional car seat bases are not available (at this time of posting). Instructions for installing the seat into the car without use of the base are on the side of the car seat and simple to follow, it took me less than 5 minutes to figure out this install method the first time. **EDITED TO ADD: EVENFLO JUST RELEASED ADDITIONAL BASES. I DO NOT OWN ONE SO I DONT HAVE A REVIEW FOR IT, BUT THEY ARE AVAILABLE. The bases are different than the original one with additional features. THIS IS NO LONGER A CON** Evenflo produces very short YouTube videos (3-5 minutes I believe) that demonstrate the different functions and how to shift between settings. Watching these helped me visualize the seat before actually ordering. Highly recommend taking a few minutes to watch. Overall I am VERY HAPPY with this purchase. I bought it on a prime day sale so it was less than $300. This is a great solution if you have multiple kids to keep track of or if you travel. For my family, this option was the best pick. READ ME ***EDITED AGAIN TO ADD: don't be silly like me. This comes with the infant insert pre installed. This is basically extra cushioning that a long the sides of the legs that provides more support for infants and attached by slipping on/off over the crotch buckle. Definitely read the manual when to remove it. My baby was looking really bunched up in the legs area and she was well beyond the time that I should have removed it. See last picture- I am pointing at the removed infant insert** ... show more

  • Perfect car seat
Color: Boone Gray Style: OG DualRide
I had bought this for my first baby and now I’m about to get another for my second since I sold the first one. It’s easy and safe. I read through the 1 star reviews and can say either the person isn’t using it right or things are just not handled correctly. I reeeeaaaallly loved this stroller car seat with my first and it’s convenient if you don’t have much trunk space. It’s very stable, compact, it moves so smoothly, and I love the gray color. My first was the size of a premi and it was a perfect fit since the hospital wouldn’t allow us to take her unless she was securely in the seat. I love how you can take off the wheel part if you just want to carry the car seat. I’m very excited to reorder for my second. ... show more

  • Such a game changer, totally worth it
Color: Boone Gray Style: OG DualRide
This was quite literally the best purchase I made after having a newborn. Everyone loved this! (My husband even said the purchase was worth it.) The stroller ride was smooth, turned so easily, and was light enough our older kiddo could push it around without a problem. It was easy to maneuver from stroller to car seat after you learned how. And wasn’t too heavy when you were carrying it into the house. The canopy reached far enough to protect baby from the brightness. Baby always looked well protected in there and comfortable. It fit nicely in the car, although it was slightly wider than our Graco infant carrier. Color is fine, we aren’t super picky about that. And the material was soft and smooth. We would highly recommend this to anyone thinking about it. ... show more

  • BUY THIS OVER THE DOONA
Color: Boone Gray Style: OG DualRide
I CANNOT PUT INTO WORDS HOW MUCH I LOVE THIS CAR SEAT!! i bought this just a few weeks before our daughter was born (february 2025) as it went on super sale for like $220. buying this seat is one of the best decisions i’ve made. i did extensive research comparing the evenflo shyft and the doona and by far the evenflo is better. this seat/carrier is super duper convenient. our daughter is 9 months and we’re finally transitioning to a standard infant car seat (and i’m very sad about it). the only reason we’re switching is because we moved to an upstairs apartment and i have too many back issues to carry her and the seat up the stairs 😅. it takes time to get used to the way it functions, but after a bit it’s a breeze. my only downside about it is because it’s an all in one, it is bigger than a normal carrier so if you have a four door sedan, it may be a little tight. ... show more

  • Strangled my baby! Sucks to fold up. Skip it!
Color: Boone Gray Style: OG DualRide
SKIP IT! I REALLY wanted to love this car seat, but after it just strangled my infant I’m completely done with it! I was so excited to use it, but it’s been nothing but a huge headache and I’m returning it. It constantly gets stuck when you try to fold it down from the stroller to the point I had to have my husband drive all the way out to me to get it to fold down to put my baby in the car. The wheels NEVER fold on the first try and you have to lean it so far forward to get them to fold. When you finally get it to fold it’s not smooth and you wind up jerking your poor child all around. The point of it strangling my infant is shown in my video. The strap to tighten the shoulder straps got caught in the mechanism to lock the wheels in the base. It has a band to roll up the excess strap into, but it never stays rolled and unless you want to sit and roll it up every single time you use the car seat it’s worthless. I didn’t realize it was stuck (the strap is ridiculously long-this should never be able to happen) and went to pull just the car seat out of the car at night. When I did so, the strap was pulled and tightened as far as it could go to my infant’s neck and he SCREAMED like I’ve never heard him before. There’s no way to get it out unless you put it back in the base and wrestle the whole stroller part out. Seeing as my baby was actively being strangled, I didn’t have time for all that so I had to just lean the car seat in the car far enough to take him out of the whole car seat in the freezing cold and run him in the house. It was so tight on him I could barely get my fingers under the shoulder straps to get him out. I’m LIVID. This was the last straw- it’s not worth it! ... show more

  • Affordable stroller
Color: Boone Gray Style: OG DualRide
Great dupe for the Doona stroller. I like that the car seat detaches from the base which I heard the doona can’t do that. I will say it is a bit bulky and heavy for a PP mom to remove from the car or pickup. But I love how convenient it is for doctors appointments, quick grocery stops!! My son weighs 7lbs and I feel like his fit isn’t the best he’s little neck bends a bit and I don’t like that so I watch him careful. The value for money is great I purchased this during a sale! I can’t think of paying $600 for the doona as we already had the Uppa baby stroller. I do like how the clip has a safety feature where you connect to Bluetooth on your phone if comes undone. Functionality is 3/5 in my opinion my husband struggles sometimes to change its position and it’s not so easy to manipulate at times. We do like the height of the handle bar my husband is 5”11 and he is easily able to push the stroller without issues . Overall I would say it’s definitely a good purchase and value for money, but if you are wanting the doona and have the means to buy it I would just because of ease of use. ... show more

  • Love! Love! Love!
Color: Boone Gray Style: OG DualRide
Let me see by saying this is an expensive purchase this type of car seat only last for one year, if that, for most people. That being said, we love this! I’ve noticed a lot of people talking about how great this is for little tiny babies but we have the opposite. We grow really large babies so much so that my back hurts. Our two month old daughter is already 17 pounds and in nine month clothing. This makes getting in and out of the car extremely hard when I’m trying to grab a stroller from the trunk and put her infant car seat on it to go anywhere. This stroller car seat condo makes it so much easier to get in and out of the car. We also own a stroller wagon, so the detachable stroller base is a must for us. We have a universal infant car seat adapter for a stroller wagon, which only works if we have an infant car seat. We’re able to detach the stroller wheels from this car seat and pop her right onto the stroller wagon and then go for a nice walk with our three-year-old and infant. I have two complaints one is that they don’t sell extra bases. We have multiple cars and we would love to be able to just have two bases so we can pop in between both cars although you can track this into a car and many different methods. The base is super easy. My husband actually loves all of the Evenflo products now because of the base. The other can I have for this is that the stroller wheels are not super durable. We do have a gravel driveway that we have to carry her across to get into the car but majority of the time when we’re going to grocery store or running errands it’s not really a problem. Would highly recommend this stroller, car seat combo to anybody who has back problems or just needs extra hands, like if you have multiple children at once. I’ve even been able to easily do the school drop off for my three-year-old where we have to get out of the car and walk him into class with her. It’s so easy, I can just unbuckle him, leave him in the car, go around the car to take her out and he hops out on her side so there’s no worry that he’s running in the street while I’m still trying to get her heavy infant car seat out and then have to hold his hand through a parking lot while struggling to carry her across the parking lot. This makes life so much easier. Added bonus are three year-old also loves to push her in her stroller! ... show more
