This was my son’s first summer camp. It was also the first time he had been away from home for several days. The camp counselors stayed with the kids throughout the trip, but I still found myself checking in from time to time. I attached this tracker to his backpack before he left. It stayed out of sight without bothering him or getting in the way. Each night I opened the Apple Find My app to check his location. Seeing it right around the camp helped me relax while he was busy making new friends and trying new activities. There was no SIM card to activate. There was no monthly subscription to manage either. Pairing it with my iPhone took only a few minutes. The tracker is light enough that it did not add extra weight to his backpack. It’s easy to connect to find my but I wouldn’t say that it provides accurate real time positioning. The refresh rate varies with the longest refresh rate I’ve seen so far being 20 minutes. I purchased this for my child and his commute to school so having something with more frequent updates is very important to me and this doesn’t quite meet the standard in terms of that.
