I do not normally write a review, but after calling Amazon about the problem I was told others were having the same problem, that is "not able to insert the house number into the address." Why did I need the NAVRUF? I Drive a 2016 Corvette Stingray, and it already has On Star installed (at a fee $30/month). I would not want to be without it. I purchased the Corvette New, with the On Star installed. However, recently I try to start the car, and it would not start. I contacted On Star, and within minutes a technician was there to help. He believed the car needed a new battery. He installed a new battery. The car still would not start. So I had to have the car towed to the dealer. All of the above was covered financially by On Star. It was a Friday so the dealer was not able to work on the car until Monday. But, I needed a car. So I rented one. It did not have a GPS system, so I tried using internet Maps. I got lost. It was then that I realized I needed a portable GPS. I selected the NAVRUF primarily because of the 9 inch screen. At First I purchased the Chinese version. That was like someone else indicated, “JUNK”. Then I noticed there was an American Version so I purchased that one, again because of the 9 inch screen. Then I ran into the Problem. "The new NAVRUF would not let me insert the house number for my destination." I fooled around for hours trying to install another map into the GPS, and could not. I was ready to send this one back to Amazon. Then I decided to try one more time to install the house number. I went to the website (it was a CVS), and typed in for the street NAME, exactly the way the STREET NAME appears on the Website. In this case it read "E Flamingo Rd" after doing that I was able to install the house number. Now I am living Happily ever After!

Wanted a larger screen (getting old), and found this one. The 9" screen is large enough to view easily, but setting destination was horrible it had me going out of my way on every destination I choose; it did not inform you of a change in direction, when to change roads, and only gave you the exit number in a half mile distance. The back lighting is the worst, you can not see the screen due to it being close to black, so hard to see anything on the 9" screen. Would HIGHLY advise people to purchase one of the 5"-6" screens and from a known maker. Was nice to have distance to stop, your speed on the road, notices at 2 mile distances, and far better lighting.

With the Real-Time & Live Traffic updates available through Google,Waze, etc. this product is obsolete. Everytime there was a posted Minimum Speed this product would set it as the speed limit then continue to tell you that your over the speed limit even though you weren't. I don't know how many times it had the 70mph road as a 40mph. Nothing about road construction or speed traps. Used it side by side with Google on my trip and it is just a waste of money for something that you can get for free. Don't be a Sucker use your money for something else.

It was accurate. I had to get used to this compared to my Tom-Tom. I am disappointed that I have such little control over the voice choices!! I wear hearing aids. Almost always I can hear male voices well. Not with this! So I am forever looking at things that I shouldn't have to look at while I am driving.

This is a decent basic automotive GPS device. But the instruction book with it's chinglish instructions is pretty much useless. Fortunately, the basic functions are fairly easy to use if you are familiar with GPS devices. And don't look to their dated web page for any help - it's full of broken links and errors. You can't even download the "free maps" - trying to download one results in a "source file could not be read" error. Not that it matters anyway; the map downloads you can't download are in ZIP format with no instructions on how to install it to the device. (Safety advice: always always be wary about downloading and running ZIP files from unfamiliar sources on your computer) And their generic Outlook.com email address does not inspire a lot of confidence as to how responsive this no name manufacturer will be. So, about the only positive thing I can say about this device is "it seems to work". Otherwise, you're on your own baby! The mounting bracket is tricky to install - again, don't look to the instruction book for help. Just examine the bracket to find the locking tabs; locking the bracket to the display requires a bit more force than I felt comfortable using on the display but use some force and maneuver it a bit and it will snap into place. The first time I turned in on, it took a bit over 10 minutes to acquire a satellite. At about the 10 minute point, I was ready to pack it up and return it. But it did finally acquire the satellite and on subsequent uses it does acquire the satellite quickly - 15 seconds or less. And since you can't download map updates from their web site, it's a good thing that the installed map seems fairly accurate - although I haven't used it out of town yet. Since I was unable to ascertain the date of the installed map, and because you can't download updates, I am leery of how accurate the map is. And I'm still trying to figure out what the small weird unmarked hole on the side marked "256mb" is for. And an unmarked slot that looks like it's for a memory card - but, again, nothing in the instructions about what it's for or how to use it. My advice: bypass this one (even though it's cheap) and look for a decent name brand device with an established company that keeps their web pages up to date. I definitely would not trust this to guide me through an unfamiliar area.
