I was looking for a gps as a backup in case my cell phones runs out of battery or loses signal and was doing related research for awhile. So it turned out there are two types of GPS devices currently available on market, with very large price difference. The ones with carplay functionality, which usually costs more than $150, and the ones without carplay that stays within $100. Since I am looking for a backup for my car, I am certainly going for the pure GPS without carplay so that I don't have to pay for the functions that I would never uses. And in this category, the super giant is certainly the garmin products. But the garmin devices somehow was way too pricey. Their non-carplayed devices have prices even higher than the other brands that do have carplay. And this is how I landed on this product. Overall I am satisfied with the device. It has a bright display, so that I have no problem seeing everything clearly even at direct sunlight. The sound volume is large enough that I don't have to hook it to my onboard loud speakers when using it. This is very important as I can still play songs stored in my car whlie using the navigation. But this device does come with the fm sender that can play the sound though your radio system. I guess the only complain I had about the device is that the navigation software is a system that I have never used before, so it's less intuitive for me, since I am just so used to google maps. But my friend mentioned to me that the usage of the software is very much similar to the embedded navigation system on his car. So I guess if you have some experience using the onboard navigation system provided by some manufactures, you should be fine using it. For me, I just need to get more familiar with it. ... show more

I like it. Still testing different settings, but overall, it's set up like my old one. Which means I don't need to learn a new format, YEAH!

    • You cannot get map updates.
First thing I did was try to get updated maps. The instructions say to go to a website (in China) and click "Downloads". There is no "Downloads" button. I tried to create a user ID, but it would not accept a US phone number.
