Absolutely insane that Ive gone so long without one of these. An absolutly awesome piece of equipment, does absolutely everything you can think of and more. Monitors and tells me my sleep, tracks my runs, tells me how to recover, strength training, and if you want this model can store ballistic profiles and DOPE. My DOPE was good for the match I just went to, recommend the Range Card setting, easy to cycle through for different ranges rather than the first screen you can use. Compared to my Kestrel/verified DOPE it was only off 0.1mils at 800+ yards. Again. This thing is amazing, worth every penny, battery life is also wild. The picture is me tracking and essentially looking at how my heart rate was doing during the stage at the shooting match. Device allows me to see when I need to lower my heartrate, focus on breathing, while also checking my dope. ... show more

The best watch I have ever had. Worth every penny and more. Why did I hesitate so much? If you are a sailor or a pilot, this watch is invaluable. It has the tide tables, that saved me several time. It gives you Metar, and TAF before you fly. It does everything and more. It has a very useful flash light, which came in so handy on several occasions. I have not used the ballistic feature. The watch is very rugged. I think the face is scratch proof. With my use it looks new after six month. It charges with solar, although not sure if it makes any difference to battery life. I charge it once a week. You can read the watch in bright sunlight and at night it has a light. It has so many features and customization that I have not been able to use them. The watch figures out if you have walked and tells you how long. You do need garmin connect on the phone to use all the features. The learning curve is steep, but really worth it. Thank you Garmin! I forgot, it also measure your blood oxygen. At 12000 ft altitude mine went down to 86%. Time to descend. ... show more

PROS: Wait for the 20% off sales! I've had this for around a month maybe a bit longer. It's been awesome. It's been a trooper through my workouts, hiking, etc. The rubber strap it comes with is oddly comfortable. The ballistic calculator with the app has been dead on. All of the features have been outstanding. Make sure you take the time to learn how to use them all, I'm definitely no expert with most features, but it's pretty intuitive. COMS:The accuracy of the REM cycles was shown to be a little off, but it is within a decent percentile of acceptable imo. The texting, phone calls, etc are better on the apple watch, but I didn't buy it to use as a phone alternate. Summary: Enjoy it! If you are into actually being out hiking, running, shooting, and getting away from always being available, this is perfect and a great piece of equipment. I don’t normally take the time to write reviews. I do read everyone else’s. I suspect I’m not alone. This watch impressed me enough to cause me to write a review. First, to all of the review writers whom say it is too dim to read. BOLOGNA. Yeah, out of the box it definitely is, for sure. I’m old (let’s go with 60ish) and my eyes suck (thanks Mom and Dad). Out of the box I was worried. Okay, I was very worried. It was dim and tiny font. Even with my 3.75 readers, I needed a magnifier and a flashlight. I fumbled my way though the buttons and menus (I don’t read manuals, I’m a guy). Yeah, as expected (Only men will relate) I made things worse, I accidently put it into night mode and disabled the touch screen (Quit laughing). So, you gotta visualize this old fella, with magnifier, flashlight try’n to hold a watch and manipulating buttons at the same time. Eventually, I got my inadvertent tweaks reversed over what felt like a frustrating hour (actually only 5 mins, we’re talking guy time here). I found the font option first and max’d that baby out. Then, I found the backlight option and maxed that baby out. I tossed the magnifier and flashlight aside (we don’t actually put things away). It took me about 30mins in real time (7hours guy time) to get the watch custom tweaked, connected to my Samsung S22, and connected the house WiFi. Then while playing with the Garmin App on my phone, I found where you can change the watch face! You can download different face configurations or create your own. How fricken cool is that! I’m far to lazy to create my own (I mean lack that level of creativity). However, there is one downloadable face called, “Simply Large”. Yep, tapped that. Now everything is bright, and readable. Okay, features; wow way too many to detail. I’m not sure what this watch doesn’t do. But main reason for buying the Pro Ballistics is for the applied ballistics embedded app. I haven’t been to the range with this watch and there will need to setup and configuration. But if you are shooter then all of screens make sense. At an out of the box glance, I think the custom range cards will be so cool. You load your personal DOPE cards for each weapon… and then they are on your wrist! I’m not dumping my DOPE journal, just in case. You know how personal those journals are. I recommend this watch for any shooter. Update: Have used it for several months now. The Range cards are awesome. Unexpectedly, I love the flashlight. The Nav and GPS are great! The Saphire glass is invaluable, does not scratch. No need for a screen protector. The solar helps extend time between charging. It has all of this health nonsense I find in the way though. GOAL 3200 you reached 3200 steps! Who Cares. ... show more

This is the best watch I have ever owned. Battery lasts weeks and is readily viewable. The Garmin watch face selection is a bit clunky but should not factor in to buying this or not. It's a large watch, if that's your thing there is not a better smart watch.

It's definitely a tactical watch. Looks great and has a lot of features. One thing is if you wear it on your dominant hand, it records movement as steps. This happened when I was hand-grinding coffee beans. I know I didn't walk over 2000 steps in my room where I was all day. The backlight can be adjusted and there is a night vision mode, BUT this would work best with night vision goggles and most people don't have those, so for normal use it's too dim. The T7 AMOLED version couldn't be sent to my location and that DOES have red and green nighttime vision you can see with your eyes. Kind of a drawback. The T7 Pro Ballistic model has the software already installed, so, if you order the cheaper one because you have no need for this because you don't do any long range shooting, you'll save money. Overall it's a nice watch. Update: I find now after wearing the watch for a while, sometimes it fails to record sleep record. This is frustrating. I dropped the overall rating to 3 stars because of the unreliability. 2nd update 01NOV2024 - Having big issues with the rubber watchband. I clean it daily and I get a bad red rash despite this. I have a CASIO Mud Runner watch with a rubber watchband and I have absolutely no rash issues. The nylon web watchband it comes with I don't use because from prior experience you have to wash it frequently in hot climates or it will start to smell from sweat. So I was looking for a metal band. GARMIN charges $297.00 for their titanium one. That's way too expensive just for a watchband. Seriously. Going to have to look for another brand that will fit. ... show more
