    • Fun and functional light with a speaker.
I'm giving this lamp 5 stars, but I have to point out some things that I think could have been made better. First of all, I'm already a big fan of JBL speakers, and I own several. So I was happy to see that Govee partnered with them to create this beautiful lamp. This is my first Govee product, and it gets 5 stars from me for it's size, and brilliant 360 degree all around screen. It's size is not too big and not too small for portability. I just grabbed a backpack to carry this in and did ok with that. I would like to see a case made for this to protect it while running around with it since it doesn't have anything built into it to grab and carry. With the way it's made however, it wouldn't make any sense to put a handle on it. One more thing about the size, I would love to see one of these made in the same circumference, but taller for stay at home use. If this was made at twice the height, that would be amazing, but I won't count on it. I know it would cost twice as much, but I would buy it. This lamp is not waterproof at all. Do not get it around water. That means you can use it outside, but keep it away from your pool, and out of the bathroom. Make sure you read the guide that comes with it for other tips... such as you need to hold the power button down for 3 seconds the first time you turn it on. This speaker has decent sound, but as it only has a 10W speaker, is not extremely powerful and doesn't throw a lot of bass. With that said, I would love to see this made with two speakers and the radiators. One big speaker on top, and one in the bottom. This could really help boost it's sound. With all of that said, the trade-off on the sound comes with the beautiful screen it has that puts out dozens of beautiful light shows while you're listening to music. I love that the lamp has a top light and a bottom light and that both of them can be turned off, or just one at a time can be turned off. This is great for when you're sitting in a dark room working at your laptop and may not want all the bright light from the big screen. The brightness of both lights can be adjusted, and this lamp gets bright. In the dark, even with the light turned down to 5%, it's still a little bright. I don't think anyone will ever have any issues getting good lighting with this lamp. Just be aware it's not made to replace sunlight. It is more of a mood lamp than anything. If you are considering this lamp, GET IT! You won't regret it. Just know that the sound it puts out is about the quality of most small bluetooth speakers you can buy these days, but you will love the light shows. If you ever owned one of those cd radios with 2 small speakers in them, it sounds comparable to those. It's really great for watching videos and listening to podcasts. Listening to music may make you drag out another speaker and just play light shows on this depending on how into your music you are, but I'm satisfied enough with how it sounds to not complain too much. I highly recommend this product. I know I will be using it a lot for streaming video and listening to music. I own several more powerful bluetooth speakers, but this one is my new favorite one. It's my new friend. ... show more

    • Fun lamp, ok sound.
Love this lamp. It's very cool and modern looking. The app has tons of different built in animation designs for every mood and occasion. I was a bit disappointed in the sound quality from the speaker, but I don't really use it for sound, just mostly lighting. It's also a bit pricey, but if you manage to find it on sale during Prime Days or Black Friday, go ahead and get it. ... show more

    • 0/10 lamp 10/10 torture device
This is the single most infuriating smart device I have ever used. It turns on randomly at ALL HOURS OF THE DAY AND NIGHT, changes to random settings/colors out of nowhere, and plays white noise without any prompt or permission. I have woken up from a dead sleep to a bright white light and soft calming music and I thought my time on Earth had come to an end. I have removed my headphones to hear loud bubbling in the distance and thought the toilet was flooding the bathroom. I have updaded software on a clear night and the sound of thunderstorms filled me with a sudden and powerful dread. I have scoured the horribly designed app multiple times, shut off absolutely every setting until it was basically just a normal lamp, and yet the device continues to hallucinate and turn on random settings. I also noticed that bluetooth just turns itself back on constantly without my permission. The saving grace is that this $150 paperweight will be reunited with its family this coming trash day. ... show more

    • Awesome Light, Good Speaker
Bought this for my man cave and used it for a TV speaker. It works well but now I brought it to work to set a more relaxing mood in my office. I really love Govee products and have quite a few of their lights for TV’s and strip lights which are programmable The speaker sounds pretty good and if you want stereo you could get two of them. For my needs, that really isn’t necessary. Right now I have it set to mimic a goldfish bowl and it’s awesome. ... show more

    • Good and bad
Was great, i got two for better sound quality and it sounds great with two but it’s a pain to setup each time. 1 sounds good by itself but not what I wanted. Left one unplugged and now it won’t charge or even turn on

    • This is a nice light will so many features you can choose
It's too expensive (even on sale). Now that's out of the way. This is a nice light will so many features you can choose from especially if you have the app (you need the app). You can use it to do a light show with music and connect it to other Govee smart light bulbs or lights you might have that's really cool. You can use it as an alarm clock and set other schedules to make it do what you want when you want it. I have it on my bedside table and on full brightness it lights up the whole room so it gets very bright on normal light settings. The Bluetooth speaker sounds pretty good I actually think it gets too loud I have to put it on the lowest setting 1% if I want the music on for sleeping otherwise it's to loud. It really looks sleek and modern in the room. I've had two problems so far but fixed them both pretty quickly. The first was I couldn't turn it on when I first took it out of the box and plugged it in ( I thought I got a dud) because the power button is an actual button that pushes down and the rest of the buttons are capacitive touch buttons so I thought I was pushing the power button not realizing I actually had to push it in. It took about 20 minutes and I pushed it hard enough that it actually clicked down and I realized it was an actual button and not just a touch button. The second problem I had is the lights on the touch buttons wouldn't fade out after a few seconds like they had been doing even when the lamp was off they would still stay on and at night they are kind of bright. I had to push the power button and the - button and that wouldn't reset the device so I just held down the power button while pushing - button and a couple other buttons and it finally reset and the light when out and now fade out after a few seconds. ... show more

    • Functionality Issues
I really like the appearance of this lamp but it has some major functionality issues. Random setting changes, light dimming down to 1% mid-use, plays background sounds unprompted, cannot hold a charge, and drops bluetooth connectivity multiple times per use. I would consider myself “tech savvy” and have had a really tough time with the settings. Reached out to customer support and they suggested to press the reset button which does work for about a day but then you have to do it basically every use. I’m not interested in a speaker I have to fight with daily. 2 stars because it is a pretty lamp when it works and the speaker quality is decent but I would suggest saving your money and buying a better speaker / light combo. ... show more
