I have enjoyed the Govee Outdoor String Lights so far. They are bright, colorful, and easy to control with the app. They add a festive touch to my patio and make it more inviting. The app has many features and options to customize the lights, such as changing the color, brightness, mode, and timer. I can also sync the lights with music or create my own scenes. The only downside is that they were a little tricky to connect to the app at first. I had to follow the instructions carefully and make sure the Bluetooth was on and close to the lights. It took me a few tries to get it right, but once I did, it worked smoothly. I would suggest improving the connection process to make it more user-friendly. Overall, I am very happy with these lights and I would purchase them again. They are well-made, durable, and fun to use. They are perfect for outdoor parties, gatherings, or just relaxing at night. These lights are pretty awesome. I'm becoming a pretty big Govee junkie. I have four strings of these, a string of the ground lights, the TV backlights, and a vehicle set. The app is great, never had any connectivity issues, fully compatible with Alexa and they are bright af. Fully customizable, tons of presets and if you get them on sale or with a decent coupon the value is even greater for the money. You can string 2 of the 48ft strings together and the app will recognize it as one string so great versatility. Haven't had them for a full AZ summer yet so we'll see how they hold up but so far rain has not affected them at all. I love that the bulbs are plastic and virtually shatterproof (again, we'll see what a hot, dry summer does to them) instead of glass. I've had a lot of glass bulbs shatter just looking at them wrong. Get 'em. You'll like 'em. ***slight revision: the string lights are NOT Alexa-compatible. I forgot I had them plugged in to a smart plug. They can only be controlled via the app. You can turn them on and off via a smart plug but all settings are controlled via the app, as others have said. My bad! ... show more

Review update: I want to give Govee a big shout out. After posting this review customer service reached out to me and issued a full refund. It’s refreshing to have a company stand behind their product. Because of this I’m going to try some of the other Govee products. I purchased two strings of these light in September 2023. I’d give them 5 stars. Paired easily with the app. Easy to control the colors. Let’s move ahead to July 2024. These light are different. The first set I purchased had an on/off button on the cord. You could actually turn them on manually. This latest version has no on/off capability except through the app. Here’s where it went south. They will not pair with the app. Needless to say it’s very frustrating knowing how well the other two strings work. I was able to get them on using the power supply off of the first sets I had. Still would not pair. Useless junk one week past the return window. I’m questioning wether to try another version or just move on from the Govee brand. ... show more

This was my second time purchasing these lights. Great colors and options. The app isn’t terribly difficult to use and can be quite fun to play around with the endless options. I’d still like to see a bit more ingenuity in the app and have better integration when hooking two strands together so if they are doing a running color-change pattern it would be seamless between both strands and work as one. Otherwise, these are great and have been holding up over the years. Granted, I have only used them as holiday lights, but they have endured being put up and taken down numerous times. (They are cafe lights so they are spaced further apart than holiday lights. I got creative with zip ties to get the lights closer together. I suppose it would be great if the company could develop an option of these that had lights closer together to accomplish this.) I use a smart plug with them and can just have Alexa turn them on and off while they “remember” the chosen pattern and I don’t have to access the app each time. Good value. Well made.
