I’ve purchased multiple versions of the Govee Neon Rope Light 2 over the past year, and I can honestly say they’re some of the best smart lights I’ve ever used. Every time I install a new one, I’m reminded why I keep coming back to this product: it’s bright, beautifully diffused, easy to control, and just plain fun. The design of the Neon Rope Light 2 is a step above traditional LED strips. The flexible silicone diffuser creates a clean, solid line of color that looks more like actual neon than any other light I’ve tried. It doesn’t have that dotted “pixel” look you get with regular strips—just a smooth, continuous glow that looks great both on and off. Whether it’s wrapped around furniture, lined along the ceiling, or shaped into designs on the wall, the light always looks polished and intentional. One of the biggest reasons I’ve bought multiple is how adaptable they are. I’ve used them to add accent lighting in my living room, behind my TV, around my desk, and even as ambient lighting in my bedroom. No matter the setup, they elevate the space. These lights are perfect if you’re not a “big light” person. We have ours set on a schedule: on in the morning and off when we leave, and it works flawlessly. The adhesive and screws provided make it easy to attach and angle the rope exactly how you want. The lights can do so many colors, brightness levels, and themes. You can control them with the Govee app, or through Apple HomeKit since it works as a Matter accessory. Super versatile and fun!

Govee products are undefeated and have ruined other brands for me. Happily. I waited a while to write my review for this product, I had seen a few of their products have reviews about people complaining about them getting very very hot or even some of the melting or catching on fire. So I wanted to make sure I'd use these products long enough to make a valid review. I want to start by saying I've had these products now for over a month and I've used them for hours at a time I not only have the strip lights, I also have the neon rope, and the floor lamp. I've used them over and over again while also being mindful and I have not had a single issue. The app they have is phenomenal, it's super seamless and even connects to my Google so I can use Google to turn these lights on or off. Since I've purchased my first item with this company I have bought three other items. And I'm having a hard time not spending more money on more of their items. The adjustability, the versatility, and the appearance of all of these lights and everything that this company offers is 10 out of 10. I'm actually very happy but also upset that they ruined every other brand for me because I can't justify anything else. Thank you Govee for an amazing product worth spending my money on.

The Govee RGBIC Neon Lights are really solid if you want something that looks good and is easy to control. What I like most is the functionality and ease of use. They are simple to set up, work well with the Govee app, and connecting them with Alexa makes it even more convenient to adjust settings without having to mess with them manually. The lighting effects are nice, and the customization options make them great for adding a cool look to a space. My main downside is that they can get a little hot at times, which is not ideal for where I have them installed in my closet. It is not enough to make them unusable, but it is definitely something to keep in mind depending on where you plan to place them. Overall, I think they are a great smart lighting option if you want good app control, Alexa compatibility, and a lot of lighting functionality. They are easy to use and look great, but I would just be mindful about placement if heat could be an issue.

About as good as you can get. Installation: ton of sticky/screw down slotted rails. If you're like me and want to freehand your design (don't), you'll want a roll of 3M VHB tape for enivitiable re-work. Brightness/color: excellent. The ARGBs are extremely fast and responsive. Colors are great, and the defusor is very good, so you don't see each individual led. They blend together very nicely. Build quality: exceptional. Very well protected from damage, and you can make some very sharp turns, given the diameter of the rope. Control: they have a tool that, uses your phone camera to map however you shape the lights. It takes 2-3 attempts, but it *nailed* mine perfectly on the third attempt. And this shape is kinda tricky, with sections of rope touching at few different points. Very impressive. Length: sketch your design on the wall first. No - stop. I know you're an engineer, and can totally free hand a circle with inscribed triangle and it'll magically measure exactly 32 ft 👀. I'm sure we won't have to do this three times. Totally 👍🙃

I ordered the 9.8 foot section of the Govee rope light as a tester. Now I want more. I have a long hallway that needed some extra light and I set up a simple wavy design. All of the materials that came in the box are high quality attesting to you get what you pay for. The rope light was very easy to shape and looks great. The colors are rich and there are many different themes and colors to choose from using the app. No remote control other than your phone or tablet. Will purchase more in the future.

After opening the box it can be a bit overwhelming, there’s a lot of small pieces and I got a bit overwhelmed — but, if you go on YouTube and search “Govee neon lights” there’s a 30 second video that really simplified the process for me! I am autistic and struggle with written instructions, so it was a great visual. I got the largest size and it wraps around my desk perfectly. These lights are incredibly bright and have tons of different color combinations / themes. You can also customize them individually and pick the colors you’d like to see. My favorite feature is definitely the music sync, it can seem a little too sensitive at first but there is a sound sensitivity slider in the app! I have the music box right behind my Echo, and it responds well. For the entire part of squiggles I didn’t use any of the bending connectors. I used the shortest ones and just made sure to have them shaped in a way where curving would be natural for them. I didn’t have a shape planned and just went for it. The heart bit at the end was a bit more complicated but I ended up using the straight clips for that part as well. Also, the screws would likely come in handy but I am in an apartment! The curved ones just kept falling off the wall and I believe it was because of the tension. These lights are definitely something you’ll have to play with for a bit to get them exactly how you want them, but it is 100% worth it! They’re very durable and insanely nice in terms of quality. The best LED’s you could find IMO (in my opinion). They connect to the Govee Home app as well as my Echo Show. 100% would recommend, just have some patience and trust the process! These are super bright, so I’d recommend blackout curtains in front of your window to avoid giving everyone outside a light show as well, haha. Amazing lights!
