  • Awesome cruiser seating position!
Color: Blue
We have 4 different brands of electric bikes and honestly this is my favorite one to ride. Build quality seems to be good. The only real adjustment I needed to do was align the front brake caliper, which isn't a surprise because the front wheel doesn't come mounted on the bike. Other than that, my only complains are that it's a hard tail, meaning no rear suspension. Also it would have been nice to have blinkers from the factory or a horn. But this one is so enjoyable to ride that I pick it over our faster bikes and the ones with a rear suspension and blinkers/horn. The lack of a horn was easily solved with a rechargable bike horn bought on here, blinkers aren't an easy fix. The reason I love riding it so much is that it has a Cruiser riding position. So if you've ever ridden on a motorcycle cruiser you have your feet slightly out in front of you instead of under you. It's a very comfy ride. The bonus of having the storage space below is also awesome, plus with the included bag/cup holder I'm able to leave a small repair kit in the "tank bag" and have the lower storage totally clear for anything I need to bring home. I love riding it, I've only put about 50 miles on it in the last few weeks because the weather is rainy, but I love riding it so much I even want to ride it in the rain. If you're looking around online this model is very similar to the GoTrax Ranger except for this model the R7 has a 750 watt motor versus the Rangers 500 w motor, and the R7 has mechanical brakes instead of hydraulic brakes like the Ranger. So there's a little give and take but I prefer the faster acceleration versus the better stopping. But other than that they're the exact same chassis. Our experience with this bike has been excellent. ... show more

  • Feels Stable and Easy to Ride Around Town
Color: Blue
The first thing I noticed after riding this bike a few times is how stable it feels. Those wider tires really do make a difference, especially when I’m going over uneven pavement or cutting through dirt paths. I’m not doing anything crazy with it, just regular riding, but it definitely feels more secure compared to the thinner tire bikes I’ve had before. It didn’t take long to get used to either, everything is pretty straightforward and easy to handle. The motor assist comes in pretty smoothly, which I like. It’s not that sudden push that throws you off, it just kind of helps you along naturally. Most of the time I keep it on a lower setting and only turn it up when I hit a hill or start getting tired. It’s also fairly quiet, which is nice when riding around my neighborhood. The frame feels solid overall, not flimsy or cheap. It is a bit on the heavier side, but that’s kind of expected with an e bike. For what I use it for, it’s been a reliable and enjoyable ride so far. ... show more

  • Not perfect but I love it. Not perfect but I love it.
Color: Black
I love this bike! I was worried whether it would be able to handle the hills in my community. I think there's a couple of hills that are 40 to 45° and this bike is able to make them with effort! I have currently put a 110 mi on the bike. I'm using it as a daily driver to go a short distance. I'm also taking it out on my lunch breaks and at one point I made a mad dash across my community to unlock a gate for someone for emergency purposes. I made it there before the maintenance guys! And then the maintenance guys were super envious because they all had to walk a quarter mile back to the company trucks. Whereas I was able to just head back to the community center. I love the styling on this bike. However. It's. Heavy. But I'm willing to accept that. The only thing about this bike that is driving me nuts is that apparently I'm going to need to have someone custom fabricate a rack for rear cargo. I think I might be able to buy something to fit on the front. But the rear. No way. Also, I'm extremely disappointed on the cheapness of the tires. The first tire went flat within 10 minutes. However, I will admit it was my fault but I was stunned by how not sturdy it was. I was able to get myself home by wrapping the inner tube with duct tape and a borrowed portable air compressor. I promptly bought tire patches. Oh my God, if you buy this thing get an air compressor when you buy the bike! And patches! This bike should ship with patches!! Who also one other thing worth mentioning when you go to take the tires off to patch them. Remember to grab some dish soap. It's very easy to get the tires off if you soak them up first. Trying to do it without soap and you will absolutely destroy everything. Today I just put my second patch on the back tire. Goat heads pop these tires. It's ridiculous! I'm also working on installing the tire liners so that they don't pop is easily. If I had to do it again I would probably still buy this bike but I got to admit the R8 is very tempting because it has real bike styling that would allow me to put a rack on it. But I still love the moto frame so there you go. Oh also 2 days ago I hit a bad spot in the road and the cap popped off of the speed shifter. I wasn't able to recover it. However, I found that an identical one can be purchased on Amazon for around $20. I'm going to be getting one just for the cap and it's probably not a bad idea to have the rest of it. Also the battery, just like everyone else has said there's no way in heck you're getting 50 MI on a charge. I have probably charged my battery 10 times and like I said I've done 110 MI on it so far. I pretty much charge it every night. I pretty much need to charge it after every 12 mi. But if I don't charge it every other day, I do wind up with a dead battery. One day in particular when it went low way too fast I ended up pedaling it home. I was surprised how easy it was to do cause I'm not in great shape And I live out in the country on dirt roads and I have some very vicious hills here. But yeah after that I've made sure to keep the charging cord with me all the time. After a year I may consider buying a second battery. I just don't want to get one right now since they'll both be the same age. Edit: I'm at 177 miles and have had two to flats. (I live in a very remote area with dirt roads, flats happen! I have stocked more tools and patches on my bike.) I just wanted to come back and say how much I love this bike. It's a joy to ride. Also it looks a bit nutty with the newly installed rack, but I've made sure it's locked in and I'll only haul light weight stuff like coats. I came to find out a moto frame is nearly impossible to install a rear rack UNLESS you do some permanent modifications or figure out the perfect clamp. Which is what I did. I found a clamp made to hold up a light bar on a dune buggy, and mounted that on the bar under the seat. That allowed me to lock in the main clamp that normally is mounted to the seat on a traditional bike. I've had tons of compliments on the bike. People in my are keep calling it a motorcycle. ... show more

  • Powerful, Comfortable, and Excellent All-Around Electric Bike Powerful, Comfortable, and Excellent All-Around Electric Bike
Color: Black
The Gotrax R7 electric bike has been an incredible daily ride and a lot of fun to use in both city streets and tougher terrain. Right from the first ride I could feel the power of the 750W motor. It accelerates smoothly and confidently, and reaching the top speed of 25 mph feels effortless even on small hills. The 20 inch fat tires provide great stability and traction whether I’m on pavement, gravel paths, or grassy trails, and they absorb bumps better than standard tires. One of my favorite features is the removable 48 V battery. It charges quickly and gives me up to about 45 miles on a single charge, which easily covers my commute and errands with room to spare. The oversized padded seat makes long rides much more comfortable, and the ergonomic design means I rarely feel sore after extended use. I also like that it arrives with a handy basket and frame bag, which are great for groceries, backpacks, or small items when out and about. Assembly was straightforward and didn’t take long, and everything feels well built and solid once put together. The UL certification gives extra peace of mind for safety and reliability, and the bike performs consistently every ride without glitches. The combination of power, comfort, range, and utility makes this a highly versatile e-bike. ... show more

  • Hard to repair
Color: Black
Flat tire on the rear, can't find a way to remove the wheel anywhere on the internet so I have to find a way to replace the inner tube while it's still mostly connected.

  • Great upgrade from an electric scooter Great upgrade from an electric scooter
Color: Black
I’ve ridden this e-bike to work four times now, and my husband even takes it out late at night just to ride around the neighborhood for fun. As someone who previously only owned an electric scooter, this has been a huge upgrade for me. With my old scooter, the small wheels made it easy to lose balance on bumps or rough roads. This bike feels much more stable thanks to the larger tires, and the ride is a lot smoother overall. The acceleration is responsive, and having different assist levels makes it really convenient to use in different situations. My husband usually rides on a higher assist level, while I prefer keeping it low, which works perfectly for me. Overall, I’m very happy with this purchase and have been enjoying it a lot! ... show more

  • Gotrax is your moneys worth UPDATE Gotrax is your moneys worth UPDATE
Color: Green
I live in Houston where drivers don't know what they're doing. I've used Uber and Lyft back and forth to work. I'm a Amazon worker who has to Uber/Lyft every night and day. With this I've taken the bike route to work and I'll say that this have saved me money of wasting $15 to $20 eight times a week. This bike has gotten me back and forth without any problems. I've seen a review that said it's hard to repair the rear tire, to that I will say that it's repairable but it will cost you time, money, and sweat. If you want to replace the tire or inner tube, please YouTube how to replace ebike tire, it will show you the procedure of cutting the zip ties of the bike and disconnecting the cable of the motor that is connected to the battery. Please follow every step and remember how washers were installed. And don't forget to buy yourself some zip ties because you're gonna reinstall them as well. ... show more

  • Fun to Ride and Surprisingly Powerful Fun to Ride and Surprisingly Powerful
Color: Black
I wasn’t expecting this bike to be this fun, but it really impressed me. The motor feels strong, especially when going uphill—it doesn’t struggle like I thought it might. Hitting higher speeds feels smooth and controlled, not shaky. I really like the fat tires. They make a big difference on rough roads and even light trails. The ride feels stable, and bumps aren’t as noticeable thanks to the suspension. It’s comfortable enough for longer rides too, which is a big plus. The pedal assist and gears give me good control depending on how I want to ride. Sometimes I let the motor do most of the work, and other times I use more pedaling to save battery. Speaking of that, the battery life has been pretty solid and lasts long enough for my daily rides. The seat is also more comfortable than expected, and having the basket and bag is actually super useful for carrying small stuff. Overall, I’ve been really happy with it. It’s powerful, comfortable, and just makes riding a lot more enjoyable. ... show more
