We purchased another brand for our 7 year old for Christmas. It was a hit, and its held up. Well, the neighborhood kids she plays with also loved it so she was sharing so often that she barely got ride time herself. The other brand was sold out so we ended up selecting this one. It is just as great. It's charger recently stopped working so I've been using the other charger for both(I have to order another charger). The only downside I have is that 2 really isn't enough...hahaha. With the amount of 7/8 year olds on my street, we definitely need at least 1 more! Favorite-so-far birthday gift for my 8 year old. Minimal assembly required and charges quickly. Can go uphill with no problem and it can handle various terrains (grass, pavement and mulch). My daughter already used to ride a manual scooter so she has no problem picking up the electric version. Seems very sturdy and we just need a front light when strolling around at night. Researched electric scooters for our 10-year old and kept coming back to this one. The biggest takeaways is your kid can still use it as a normal kick scooter in areas where the electric mode would be too fast or hard to navigate. Assembly took less than 15 minutes from opening the box. Having never used an electric scooter before our 10 year old was able to master it after a few hours of use. Positives: 1. Sturdy enough for kids 12 and under. 2. Footswitches to turn on the unit and then power on the motor are easy for kids to understand. 3. Charging is simple and takes about an hour for a full charge Negatives: 1. There is no hand brake (knew this when buying). The braking options are either pressing with your foot on the rear wheel cover to cause friction on the tire or to coast well in advance of where you want to stop and using your feet to catch yourself at the last moment. 2. There is no way to tell the status of the charge of the battery other than knowing that when you ride it, the scooter isn't going as fast. 3. The accelerator button is either full-on (when pressed down) or full off (when not on it). It's not variable depending on the pressure applied. I knew this when purchasing, just something to inform your kid about when they start out. ... show more

This scooter was fairly easy to put together. The speed was just right for my 6 yr old. He absolutely loves it. He does have issues sometimes with foot placement to get the scooter going but that is not a big concern. 10 months later and the scooter experienced some beeping issues while running. Had to reach out to support and Honey at Gotrax helped me solve our issue. The support was very helpful and timely. My son is now back rolling again with no beeping and he loves it. Why did you pick this product vs others?: Couldn't be more perfect. Made well and goes the perfect speed for a 4-5-6 year old. She quickly learned to control it with the break and speak on the handle bar. Dismounts when she's done and never had a spill. Cute color, nice smooth wheels for a smooth ride. Very pleased. The media could not be loaded. I have a daughter who is always bored. I bought this as a solution to keep her occupied this summer as she seems tired of her bike as well. It's the perfect size for her. She has fun for hours riding it throughout the neighborhood. There's a good few hours before another charge is required which allows for some inside time at least.     • Bad battery, buyer beware!
Buyer beware. I purchased three scooters from this seller. All the same model for my three kids, all three in the SAME month. Scooters all worked fine for a little while, kids were happy. That did not last though. One of them, the batter would not hold a charge for more than a minute. When I took it apart, I noticed the battery shipped with the scooter was manufactured 2.5 YEARS before I ordered the scooter. So, I immediately looked at the other two scooters and they both had batteries that were manufactured only a couple months before my order date. I contacted the company and explained all of this to their representative, only to be met with the message, "sorry, the warranty expired and you can purchase a new battery for $50." I followed up multiple times with the questions surrounding the manufacture date of the bad battery and their only response was, "sorry, your warranty is up. It has exceeded the warranty period and we're not going to send you a free battery." Obviously, absolutely terrible customer service and just bad business in general to not recognize and correct a clear mistake on their part. ... show more
