This scooter was fairly easy to put together. The speed was just right for my 6 yr old. He absolutely loves it. He does have issues sometimes with foot placement to get the scooter going but that is not a big concern. 10 months later and the scooter experienced some beeping issues while running. Had to reach out to support and Honey at Gotrax helped me solve our issue. The support was very helpful and timely. My son is now back rolling again with no beeping and he loves it. Thank you Honey! 5 out of 5 stars based on my son’s enjoyment but gave it 4 stars overall.

We must have gotten a bad battery in the one we ordered so we successfully returned it. Gotrax customer service reached out to me and they were very kind and helped remedy the situation. They were actually sincere in their apology for the scooter not working and they actually sent me a free toddler scooter which happens to be a really great scooter. I'd definitely try their products as their service is above and beyond.

EDIT 3/31/21: GoTrax has fixed our issue and have replaced the faulty scooter. Thank you GoTRAX for fixing my 7 year olds birthday gift! We appreciate you customer service and willingness to do the right thing! EDITED TO ADD ON 3/24: GoTrax has reached out to me with a solution. I have updated my review from 1 star to 3, and will update again once I have a working scooter. I received this on February 4th for my daughters 7th birthday, and we didn’t open it until the 7th. On the 15th, the charging port completely fell out of the scooter the first time it needed to be charged. I promptly reached out to the manufacturer instead of returning to Amazon and that is where I made my first mistake. I have over a dozen emails going back and forth with them from February 15th to today, March 19th. Their first excuse was that their shipping department lost my address and they’d get it sent out immediately. Still nothing. Pay $130+ for a scooter you want your kids to ride ONCE. I honestly don’t know how it has such great reviews… we are now out of our Amazon return window, and stuck with a hunk of useless plastic & metal and a very upset 7 year old.

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS FOR PARENTS TO GET THEIR KIDDOS. Make sure there is more smooth, not bumpy roads or side walks for them to ride on. I bought this as a gift for my 10 year old son. (Pretty much because hes bored during Covid, let's be honest...) I was reading reviews to make sure this would a good fit. This is one of the best rated scooters I could find. Found out, his two friends bought the exact ones right as soon as they seen him with one! They are all around the same age. Only reason I rated for four stars for sturdiness is because I notice sometimes after he is riding it, I check the handle of the scooter and its wobbly and I need to tighten it. simple fix. We've had it for maybe two weeks. I even tried it out, I'm 5'2 and 170 lbs, and it was fun. Very interesting how you use it, there are two buttons where they have their feet, and the break is essentially putting your foot on the back bumper over the tire. It goes a decent speed, that I am happy with. It doesnt go too fast where I am nervous for my son but fast enough that it doesnt bore him Lol Oh, it's important to have them charge over night then they have a decent time riding around. I havent timed it yet but will and will edit review when I get to it!! Enjoy!

Researched electric scooters for our 10-year old and kept coming back to this one. The biggest takeaways is your kid can still use it as a normal kick scooter in areas where the electric mode would be too fast or hard to navigate. Assembly took less than 15 minutes from opening the box. Having never used an electric scooter before our 10 year old was able to master it after a few hours of use. Positives: 1. Sturdy enough for kids 12 and under. 2. Footswitches to turn on the unit and then power on the motor are easy for kids to understand. 3. Charging is simple and takes about an hour for a full charge Negatives: 1. There is no hand brake (knew this when buying). The braking options are either pressing with your foot on the rear wheel cover to cause friction on the tire or to coast well in advance of where you want to stop and using your feet to catch yourself at the last moment. 2. There is no way to tell the status of the charge of the battery other than knowing that when you ride it, the scooter isn't going as fast. 3. The accelerator button is either full-on (when pressed down) or full off (when not on it). It's not variable depending on the pressure applied. I knew this when purchasing, just something to inform your kid about when they start out.

***UPDATE 9/13/22: Gotrax reached out directly and has since sent a replacement scooter. Updating the rating to a 4-star on my review to reflect the customer service that I received after my original review.*** DO NOT PURCHASE!!!!!!! I am so disappointed at the lifespan of this scooter. It worked great for a few months, but just stopped working/charging. I reached out to the company and they basically told me the scooter was “out of warranty “ and I would need to purchase a new $50 battery/controller from their website. This is so ridiculous! Our scooter is 7 mo old. Definitely expected it to last longer than this! I will never buy another Gotrax product. Lousy workmanship, lousy product and little to no customer service. Don’t waste your money.
