  • Gotrax made an issue right. Gotrax made an issue right.
Originally I purchased a G4, which seems like a quality scooter; however it had an issue, but Gotrax addressed the issue. I see a lot of G4 scooters around town (college town), so I probably just received a bad one. The G4 rode nicely. GoTrax upgraded me to an Eclipse model. The G4 model I originally ordered has solid wheels, which I recommend, because they are low/no maintenance. The Eclipse model has solid wheels, and is very much similar to the scooters you can rent in cities. I love the display on the Eclipse model; the dual drum brakes stop nicely, and the weight of the scooter makes it feel very planted to the ground. The G4 is nice, but I recommend spending a little extra money on the Eclipse model. If you want a scooter to ride recreationally or to the parking garage, I recommend the G4. If you want a scooter that's a daily driver, I recommend the Eclipse. I live downtown where it's easier to bike than drive, then I got tired of biking. A scooter is a great alternative to a car. My son wanted a scooter so I bought one for him, then realized I need one too. Insurance and parking would cost me over $200 per month, and that's before gas and maintenance. Scooters are a cost effective solution to a car where one isn't necessary, and with the money saved, I utilize ride share when the weather is inclement, and rent a car when I need one. The scooter will take 3 to 5 hours to charge depending on how much battery remains (it's best to run the battery down before charging it, but if it's at 1 bar and you need 2 or 3 bars, then obviously it'll need charged). The G4 has the power I would expect from a middle range scooter. The Eclipse has the power of a scooter a class above the G4. I like the weight of the G4 (about 38 pounds), whereas the Eclipse is about 45 pounds and I can feel the extra weight when I have to carry it. Both scooters feel heavy if you have to carry them far (I have to carry them up and down 3 steps every time I leave/arrive home). The scooters are a good value. I'm sort of tired of riding motorcycles, scooters are an activity my son and I can enjoy. Definitely invest in at least a helmet. Whether you ride a bike, scooter, or motorcycle, you should be wearing at least a helmet. I wiped out on a scooter recently, and a helmet probably saved my life (people get out of the shower and fall, so imagine falling at 10 miles per hour). Lots of fun, but understand cars are not expecting something to come flying off the sidewalk at 15 miles per hour, so understand how to ride responsibility. Areas heavy in pedestrian traffic require being being careful and respectful. I highly recommend GoTrax, and scooters are a cost effective solution to transportation, and better for the environment than cars. Get one and have fun, but wear at least a helmet (common sense). ... show more

  • My time with gortax scooter has been real adventure . My time with gortax scooter has been real adventure .
The scooter is alot fun its fast and does get up steep hills slow around 8 to 10 mph on hills but, I'm around 200+ so yeah . Alot depends on speed and your build . Its also a very safe easy scooter to learn. The breaks they stop almost instantly everytime . Its easy to use the scooter by switching between levels of speed on handel bars. The scooter has nice light for night time and back blicking red light for when stop. The scooter has nice auto cruse for 15.5 to 20 mph . Very helpful so dont put alot strain on throttel . My first scooter had this problem but the support team Ice Chou help me alway through my adventure of hoops I had go through with my first scooter . I did have one nasty fall do speed bump and use of cell phone to . Even tho that this scooter still got me almost 255 miles befor had a problem. In the end I'm happy customer me and gotrax made solid sale . And also the warranty with gotrax on scooter was 100%. al I needed was a label and next day I sent scooter out with free label I print off and shipping was free because they sent old scooter back in box new scooter came in . I got new replacement scooter and freebie added from gotrax on my new scooter for my time and purchase of pier fix to back wheel on first scooter and throttel needing to be replaced. In the future I'd like buy a eletric bike from gotrax. Scooters are nice but battery only good for few hours if use on fastest speed battery goes real fast with auto cruse so keep that in mind if go far try use first speed to 15.5 mph. Now last thing I love about my scooter over bike is how cool and easy is to fold up my scooter and carry it around when I need to . The two different locks one scooter make also very easy keep safe to . Thanks again gotrax look forward seeing future product :). ... show more

  • Very Fun to Ride! Very Fun to Ride!
The GoTrax G4 Scooter is an impressive and fun way to get around! Some minimal assembly is required, but only involves putting screws in the handlebar area to secure the handlebars. After that, you want to make sure it is charged by using the wall plug charging device for a few hours until it is ready, which is when the green indicator light is showing. It has excellent security features that make it impossible to ride if you don't have the correct PIN, and hard to steal with the built-in cable lock. Acceleration is fantastic, and it gets up to its top speed very quickly. The ride is very smooth, and turning is a breeze! I like the safety features it has, such as a front headlight and a red rear end braking light, which makes it safe to ride at night. The LED display shows the battery life, so you will know when it needs charging, and also shows the mileage travelled as well as how fast you are going. When not in use, the handlebars can fold and clip onto the top of the rear end of the scooter, making it easier to carry, if necessary, and easy to store. The GoTrax G4 Scooter is an excellent way to travel and is also environmentally friendly since it doesn't burn through fuel! ... show more

  • Disappointing. Problems start after warranty ends
I purchased this GoTrax scooter for my son’s birthday, and he was very excited to receive it. Unfortunately, he was too young to use it on his own at first, so the scooter spent quite a while stored in a closet. Once he was finally old enough to ride it, he had a great time with it. The scooter was fast, fun, and worked well in the beginning. However, the problems started soon after. First, the hand brake broke and had to be replaced. About two weeks later, the rear tire went flat. We replaced it, but the new tire started leaking air. We then replaced that tire as well, and it also developed issues. At this point, I’m not sure whether the problem is with the tires themselves or the scooter. The brakes no longer work very well either. After reading other reviews, I noticed that several customers have reported similar tire problems. What makes this especially frustrating is that the warranty had already expired by the time these issues appeared. If you buy this scooter before your child is ready to use it, keep in mind that the warranty period may run out before you discover any defects. Overall, I’m very disappointed with the durability and reliability of this product. I believe it should perform better and last a bit longer for the price we paid! ************ If anyone from the GoTrax team sees this review, I would greatly appreciate any assistance you can provide. Although the warranty has expired, we’ve experienced multiple issues with the scooter, including problems with the brake system and repeated tire failures. We really want to keep using the scooter, and I would be grateful if someone could reach out with any suggestions, replacement options, or possible solutions to help resolve these issues. Thank you for your time and consideration. ... show more

  • Good product, good customer service when needed.
The scooter came most assembled with a few screws to put in to attach the handlebars. It was fairly easy to figure out how to use and I like that you can set a code for use as well as it has a built in cable lock. Both are more deterrents than actually preventing the device from being stolen as the lock could be easily cut and the security code can be reset if you know which buttons to press. We did have an issue 7 months into having the scooter. A weld failed on the frame. I reached out to GoTrax support and sent in my Amazon proof of purchase. All was very easy. I had a woman Lydia who worked with me every step of the way. I had to find my own box to ship it back and thankfully I had a box at my office that worked perfectly. They paid for returned shipping. They got the item, could not fix it and sent me a brand new one. Between the time I dropped it in the mail and the time we go the new one back it was two weeks. I was happy with the communication from Lydia and happy with the response from the company. I knew they would not be able to fix the product so I just wish they would have determined that from my video and sent me a new one straight away and then I could have sent the broken one I had back in the box the new one came in. I enjoyed trying to Frankenstein a box together to send but I’m sure most people would not. Also the way the scooter broke I think was a fluke. My son is big at 5’9ā€ 175lbs but the scooter is rated for over 250lbs so I don’t think that is the issue. He was also not ramping it or anything. We will see if the new one holds up which I suspect it will. ... show more

  • Great scooter with solid performance, comfort, and quality Great scooter with solid performance, comfort, and quality
Color: Black
I’ve been using this Gotrax electric scooter for about a week now, mostly for recreational rides and a quick trip to a local store. So far, I’m really impressed. The ride quality is super smooth—the 10" solid tires handle bumps and dips really well, and the suspension gives it a solid, stable feel even over grass (my niece took it for a spin across the lawn, and it didn’t miss a beat). The build quality is excellent—you can tell it’s made to last, though it is on the heavier side, which actually adds to that feeling of durability. As for performance, it’s handled inclines with no issue and gets up to speed quickly. I’ve hit around 18 mph, and it still had more to give. I’ve gone about 14 miles so far and still had 65% battery left, which is awesome for peace of mind on longer rides. No noticeable drop in battery performance so far either. The electric lock is a nice touch for security, though unlocking it every time can be a little tedious—especially with the default code setup that requires spinning through all the digits. That said, I plan to change it to something easier for convenience. My only real wishlist item would be a mobile app—something to track mileage, battery levels, or ride history would be a great addition. But that’s definitely not a deal-breaker. All in all, this scooter has exceeded my expectations. It’s powerful, well-built, and smooth to ride. I’d absolutely recommend it to anyone looking for a reliable and fun way to get around. ... show more

  • A REALLY GOOD SCOOTER FOR OUR FAMILY - WE LEARNED ALOT AND WE LOVE IT!
Color: Black
We have learned a lot about scooters after buying the Eclipse. At first, it was frustrating because we had a rear tire issue, but we are glad to have been forced into a learning curve. The one thing that I would like to say up front is GoTrax, while not always fast, has a desire to work with and please the customer. Something rare in today’s industries. They have persistently reached out to me, even when I was busy and did not respond right away. They were determined to correct our issue. I would not hesitate to buy any of their products again. The Eclipse is up and running and we are loving it! It handles my husband’s 6’ 6ā€ -220 lb. frame very well. We rode our scooters (Eclipse and G4) in downtown D.C. and kept up with traffic at our 20-mile pace. No problems at all. The upside of the Eclipse over the G4 (we own 2) is that the handlebars are wide enough to put a cell phone holder on which is a huge help when needing to use maps to navigate new urban terrain. It also has a higher weight limit. The G4 picks up faster, but it is a lighter scooter. Both reach 20 mph. Here is what we recommend for replacing the back tire if/when needed (this will take an hour or so your first time): These inner tubes work on the 10ā€ Eclipse tires, I ordered backups: Amazon.com : RUTU 10x2.50 Inner Tubes - 10" Scooter Tube Set Compatible with Electric Scooter, Smart Self-Balance Scooters & Boards - Butyl Rubber Tubes with TR87 Bent Air Valve & 4 Dust Caps - Pack of 2 : Sports & Outdoors Tools that really helped change the inner tire tube (really are necessary so you do not puncture the inner tube putting it on: Amazon.com: 50 Strong Bike Tire Levers | Set of 4 Ultra Strong Tire Spoons | Made in USA | Easy Grip Interlocking Design | Must Have Bicycle Accessories & Bike Tools | Premium Tire Tools : Sports & Outdoors Be sure when changing out the tire that you spray the inside rim with a soapy solution. We used a mixture of liquid laundry detergent and water. We tried putting on the tire without this and punctured the inner tube. Also use this to check the inside of the tire for any imperfections that might rub on the inner tube. We went through two inner tubes figuring this out. We were thrilled when it all worked out and like I said, we learned a lot in the process. • Excellent bike for a noobie or an expert!!! Excellent bike for a noobie or an expert!!!
I have always been intrigued with Electric scooters as I have seen them all over DC, but never really rode them or even came close to one. However, things changed when one of my coworkers convinced me to get one as I live about two miles from work and was told, it could replace a car. After a lot of soul searching and reviews on YouTube and Google, I narrowed down my list to GoTrax and HelBoi. After extensive "research", I picked GoTrax. I will break up my review into the following: Assembly: I wanted something that is easy to assemble and YouTube mentioned, this was easy. The scooter came in a big box, which was surprisingly very heavy. I took it out of the packaging and all it needed was 4 screws which can be tightened with a standarad allen wrench (They did provide one). Tip: Make sure you have your kick stand on, when you assemble and it will be pretty easy. Durability: I didn't realize how sturdy this was, until I actually had my hands on this scooter. It looked tough and strong. It seemed pretty durable and can take a beating or two and move on. Charging: The instructions asked to charge for 6 hours initially. I always thought the battery was detachable and then charge it. However, you have to connect the charger (which is about the size of a laptop charger), to the bottom of the scooter and it charged pretty quickly. I have taken it to work twice and it didn't lose charge much, although it's kind of a hilly road on the way back. Riding: Granted, I had never used an electric scooter, but this was super fun to ride. It has two modes, L1 and L2. L1 goes to under 10 miles and L2 goes from 11-20 which actually feels pretty dam fast and slick. It has disc brakes on the left side of the handle. The brakes are pretty sturdy and stop perfectly when required and gives a good deal of control while riding. The riding is pretty smooth. Since the tires seem bigger, it can handle small bumps with ease. It also has a small LED screen which shows the battery status and the speed. The shocker here was, it has Cruise control. After holding the throttle for about 8-10 seconds, it gets into cruise control mode automatically. It also has a push assist mode, which I don't think I'll use, but it's good to have. There are reflectors at the back with a brakelight. There is a headlight in the front and a cute, loud enough bell (which could startle people and make them move out of the way). It also gives the total mileage driven. The foot rest is broad and can fit huge feet easily. Security: The scooter has a three digit passcode that needs to be inputted prior to using the electric feauture. At the bottom, it also has a number lock with which you can use a cable to secure it when you need to stop somewhere (gym maybe) Weight and storage: It is about 36 pounds. I thought it would be more than 36 pounds when I did carry the whole box. The scooter can be folded easily and carried home or work. If you have stairs, it could be a workout and do mind the walls. Overall, I am pleased with this product and couldn't recommend it enough. After I bought it, my brother saw how cool this is and he bought one it. For under $500, this is a good deal. Can be a good present for Christmas. ... show more
