  • A great scooter and fun to drive
I purchased the Gotrax electric scooter to help with short errands and daily commuting and it has honestly exceeded my expectations. Setup was super easy just a few screws and a plug, and it was ready to ride in minutes. It’s lightweight enough (around 30–32 lbs) to carry up stairs or stow in a car, making it very convenient for apartment living or mixed commuting. The ride quality is smoother than expected thanks to either air-filled or solid honeycomb tires, depending on the model. I’ve ridden comfortably over cracked sidewalks and mild bumps with no issues. Speeds are decent I've comfortably hit 15–18 mph on flat grounds and the cruise control feature is a nice bonus for longer stretches. Battery life holds up well for neighborhood use. I get about 8–12 miles on a charge depending on how hilly the route is. overall, this is a great scooter and very fun to drive. ... show more

  • Gotrax made an issue right.
Originally I purchased a G4, which seems like a quality scooter; however it had an issue, but Gotrax addressed the issue. I see a lot of G4 scooters around town (college town), so I probably just received a bad one. The G4 rode nicely. GoTrax upgraded me to an Eclipse model. The G4 model I originally ordered has solid wheels, which I recommend, because they are low/no maintenance. The Eclipse model has solid wheels, and is very much similar to the scooters you can rent in cities. I love the display on the Eclipse model; the dual drum brakes stop nicely, and the weight of the scooter makes it feel very planted to the ground. The G4 is nice, but I recommend spending a little extra money on the Eclipse model. If you want a scooter to ride recreationally or to the parking garage, I recommend the G4. If you want a scooter that's a daily driver, I recommend the Eclipse. I live downtown where it's easier to bike than drive, then I got tired of biking. A scooter is a great alternative to a car. My son wanted a scooter so I bought one for him, then realized I need one too. Insurance and parking would cost me over $200 per month, and that's before gas and maintenance. Scooters are a cost effective solution to a car where one isn't necessary, and with the money saved, I utilize ride share when the weather is inclement, and rent a car when I need one. The scooter will take 3 to 5 hours to charge depending on how much battery remains (it's best to run the battery down before charging it, but if it's at 1 bar and you need 2 or 3 bars, then obviously it'll need charged). The G4 has the power I would expect from a middle range scooter. The Eclipse has the power of a scooter a class above the G4. I like the weight of the G4 (about 38 pounds), whereas the Eclipse is about 45 pounds and I can feel the extra weight when I have to carry it. Both scooters feel heavy if you have to carry them far (I have to carry them up and down 3 steps every time I leave/arrive home). The scooters are a good value. I'm sort of tired of riding motorcycles, scooters are an activity my son and I can enjoy. Definitely invest in at least a helmet. Whether you ride a bike, scooter, or motorcycle, you should be wearing at least a helmet. I wiped out on a scooter recently, and a helmet probably saved my life (people get out of the shower and fall, so imagine falling at 10 miles per hour). Lots of fun, but understand cars are not expecting something to come flying off the sidewalk at 15 miles per hour, so understand how to ride responsibility. Areas heavy in pedestrian traffic require being being careful and respectful. I highly recommend GoTrax, and scooters are a cost effective solution to transportation, and better for the environment than cars. Get one and have fun, but wear at least a helmet (common sense). ... show more

  • Best electric scooter!
Style: 28mile 500w
The media could not be loaded. What else can I say about Gotrax? I originally bought this for me since it’s meant for adults but my kids are all over them. This is my 3rd one! Our rides to town as a family are great, everybody staring at us and saying how cool are our scooters. Same quality and performance as previous ones. Very easy to fold and unfold to take wherever you want. Long range, about 30-40 minutes of use. Very powerful and fast ( up to 20 mph!). Fast charging. Double brake system and dual front suspension feels like an upgrade on this model. The side lights at night are a very cool plus. Like I said before, if you want/need a scooter, GOTRAX is the way to go! ... show more

  • Good product, good customer service when needed.
The scooter came most assembled with a few screws to put in to attach the handlebars. It was fairly easy to figure out how to use and I like that you can set a code for use as well as it has a built in cable lock. Both are more deterrents than actually preventing the device from being stolen as the lock could be easily cut and the security code can be reset if you know which buttons to press. We did have an issue 7 months into having the scooter. A weld failed on the frame. I reached out to GoTrax support and sent in my Amazon proof of purchase. All was very easy. I had a woman Lydia who worked with me every step of the way. I had to find my own box to ship it back and thankfully I had a box at my office that worked perfectly. They paid for returned shipping. They got the item, could not fix it and sent me a brand new one. Between the time I dropped it in the mail and the time we go the new one back it was two weeks. I was happy with the communication from Lydia and happy with the response from the company. I knew they would not be able to fix the product so I just wish they would have determined that from my video and sent me a new one straight away and then I could have sent the broken one I had back in the box the new one came in. I enjoyed trying to Frankenstein a box together to send but I’m sure most people would not. Also the way the scooter broke I think was a fluke. My son is big at 5’9” 175lbs but the scooter is rated for over 250lbs so I don’t think that is the issue. He was also not ramping it or anything. We will see if the new one holds up which I suspect it will. ... show more
