I got this e-bike for my wife just over a year ago or 7. October 2024. Assembly was easy and bike was ready to ride in less than 30 minutes. Gears have never had to be adjusted but brake cables set in a little so after 2-3 rides I had to adjust the brakes. The weight of the bike is only about 45 pounds with the battery, so it is easy to fit on a bike rack and to hang to my wall mounts in the garage and it is easy to ride without battery power. Now after one year the battery is still like new and range is just over 30 miles running the bike at speed settings 2 or 3 (10 and 15MPH aprx). In august 2025 the bike stopped working. I contacted the Gotrax customer service and right away they sent a replacement display unit which was easy to replace. That did not fix the problem and right away and Gotrax sent a replacement controller unit and that took just over 2 weeks to arrive. Lydia at Gotrax customer service was very helpful and sent DIY videos how to replace parts. After reading few of the reviews I wanted to point out that when you buy an e-bike, or anything for that matter, from a small company you have to be self sufficient to DIY any repairs under warranty. Don’t expect a small business to have nation wide warranty repair service. I support small businesses and bike repairs are an easy DIY task especially when you have a video to follow. I do recommend this e-bike for anyone who needs a city e-bike or one to venture on the smoother bike trails. After one year of use and over 1000miles it is still running like new, battery at full capacity, tires good, gear shifting great and front suspension fork still smooth and its low weight makes it easy to handle. Do not buy if you’re traveling long distances even half of 30 miles. Doesn’t make it that far at all. 12 miles on flat land in sunny conditions and the battery was dead. Left my 17 year old daughter stranded on the country roads for hours until I could get out of work and help her. Do not buy. False advertising to say 30 miles and it goes 12!!! I don’t even write reviews unless I absolutely love something, but this was enough to HATE it so much that I’m here wasting my time. Do not buy. ... show more

This electric bike is very sturdy and feels well-built. The overall quality is great, and it rides smoothly with good power. The speed can get pretty fast, which makes it fun and convenient to use. Assembly was so easy and most of the bike was already put together when it arrived. I only needed to attach a few parts before taking it out for my firsts. The pedal-assist systejm works smoothly, and the different assist levels let me choose how much effort I want to put into the ride. For commuting around town, it provides a comfortable balance between exercise and convenience. The motor has enough power to help on small hills and longer stretches of road. I also like the front suspension, which helps absorb bumps and cracks in the pavement. The seat size is reasonably comfortable, and the riding position feels natural even on longer trips and safe too. Battery life has been good for my needs, and I haven’t had any issues completing several rides before needing to recharge, this e-bike offers solid performance, a comfortable ride. The bike is very sturdy and high quality. It comes with a set of nice shock absorbers that keep the ride feeling very comfortable. It’s a very modest size which makes it great for storage and portability. Assembly was not too difficult. I was able to assemble it in under an hour.     • Broke in less than 1 year (new battery replaced free)
UPDATE: I reached out to the email address in the manual and they requested a video. I sent it and they determined the issue is the battery and they sent a new battery. So far so good. Wifey is happy again and went on a 7 mile ride with no issues. Changing to 4 stars since company is honoring warranty. Previous: This didnt last 1 year. Console just quits after 1-2 mins of turning it on and sometimes much faster. No loose wire or anything. Gently used within the neighborhood. I will try the warranty but feel I am done with this brand. ... show more

The GoTrax Dolphin bike has been working for me as a mode of transportation to and from work for several months now. It’s very reliable, has a long battery life, good speed, and is very comfortable. Would 10/10 recommend!!!
