The install was easy of the hardware but the software did get a little tricky. Some of it was user error but once you figure out what you are doing, it's a breeze. I love that we can easily assign specific codes to each family member if we want to and we can do a guest code for a pet sitter while we are on vacation and change that code after we return. It also logs which family member/guest locked and unlocked the door so you always know who is entering the house. You can use the app to unlock or the keypad. This is totally keyless so be sure to have batteries on hand when the low battery warning comes on but if for some reason you failed on that part, you can use a 9 volt from the outside to operate it and unlock the door. It's really foolproof and you can't mess this up. Well worth every penny especially for a family on different schedules coming and going all hours of the day. ... show more

Really awesome! Works with Wi-Fi- but know that you must have another door to enter because it doesn’t come with a key. If you only have one door and this breaks- there is no way to enter in your home! We wanted to use this with our airBnB, but it only has one door.

    • Wasted a few hours of my life, don't buy this

I previously bought a Hornbill lock but after it was getting codes wrong from multiple people decided to try this lock. Absolute crap. First install took me like 1.5 hours, not because of installation but the setup with the Nest Connect. First that wouldn't connect to my wifi, tried various troubleshooting options and eventually somehow it worked. I'm very techy and if I'm having this much trouble I can only imagine others. I saw posts on Reddit and Google forums complaining about ability to connect to Nest devices and finish setup with code T0009. Lock worked for a few days, I got codes added and then it got disconnected from the Nest again, so nothing remote would work. Went through all provided troubleshooting setups, took lock apart and factory reset. I even saw people saying you needed wifi without security so I tried that as well. After an over hour I gave up. What a piece of crap, really sad coming from Google as well. Absolute waste of my time. I returned it and got a Wyze Lock Bolt for 1/4 of the price and I would highly recommend it over this lock. Do you hate digging through your purse to find your keys?
