I absolutely love my Google Nest Cam. The video quality is super clear and it’s very easy to use whether I’m checking it from my phone or through the Google Home app. Everything loads quickly and I can always see what’s going on at home no matter where I am. One of my favorite features is the two way audio. I use it all the time to talk to my pets and even check in with my fiancé when I’m away. It honestly makes me feel a lot more connected and it’s fun being able to interact in real time instead of just watching. The smart alerts are also a huge plus. I really like that it can tell the difference between people and animals so I’m not getting unnecessary notifications. It makes everything feel more accurate and helpful instead of overwhelming. We have multiple cameras set up in different areas of our home including the living room and the garage. Having one in the garage gives me extra peace of mind because I get alerts if anyone is there. It just adds another layer of security and comfort knowing we can keep an eye on everything. Overall this camera has been such a great addition to our home. It’s reliable easy to use and packed with useful features that actually make a difference in everyday life. The Nest Cam (Indoor, Wired) is a major upgrade over the previous generation! This is a top-tier indoor camera that delivers a premium experience, great functionality, flawless connectivity, and improved Night Vision! The Good: Seamless AI Integration: When paired with a Nest Aware subscription, the AI features are incredible. The summarized notifications that appear as GIFs on my phone are a game-changer for quickly checking on things without opening the full feed. Superior Quality: The image clarity is excellent, and the physical build feels even more premium than the last gen. Mounting Versatility: There are tons of interesting third-party mounting options available, making it easy to place exactly where you need it. Motion Detection: Works great, and lots of options to customize zones, and type of motion. The Not-So-Good: Subscription Dependent: The primary downside is that many of the "must-have" features—like AI summaries and 24/7 video history—are locked behind the Nest Aware subscription. Without it, the camera's utility is more limited.

What really makes this camera feel “next level” are the AI-powered features. Google’s Gemini intelligence brings more meaningful alerts — the camera can distinguish between people, animals, and vehicles, so I’m not flooded with irrelevant motion notifications. The animated previews in the app are a very clever touch, helping you quickly see what triggered an alert. Setup was a breeze. The Google Home app walked me through the whole process step by step.
