  • A must have for any collector or fan of the Prequels!
First off, I'm super glad they kept the set at minifig scale. I prefer to have my mini figs INSIDE the vehicle even if they're just on display. Plus it scales surprisingly well with the Obi Wan jedi starfighter set that's still in stock, so get one of those too while you can. The figures are hit and miss. Jango Fett looks excellent, especially with the arm prints. He has both his helmet and a hair piece for when he is piloting the vehicle. Boba on the other hand, I wish they had given him a hair piece that better matches the movie, plus some small details on his outfit. The design and build quality is excellent as is expected for a UCS set. I love how detailed the set is from both the smooth front areas to the back where they got the color of the engine exhaust perfectly. Even where greebling was requires, it looks great. The designers also really outdid themselves in perfecting that smooth oval appearance for the base. So much so that it somehow improves the Boba Fett slave 1 ucs set from years ago. You do need to be careful how you hold it when moving it around, but it's a lot more sturdy than you think. Some of the play/movable features are well thought out and designed. The most notable is the loading dock/ramp that can be lowered to allow a figure to enter into the ship. The mechanics that went into it was interesting to see as i built it. There's also the laser cannons can be positioned to aim, as well as the seismic charge in the back of the ship. Also the wings rotate depending on the orientation of the ship. The two internal features are in the cockpit. the top compartment with the pilot position can be slid out so you can place your minifigs in position easier. The back wall of the cockpit area has a secret compartment that can be used to store jango's jetpack and blasters. There's no plate to put the helmet, but I just put that in the empty third seat of the cockpit anyways to match the film. My only complaints with the set are the use of stickers instead of having printed pieces - particularly on the seismic charges and the cockpit panels, and the Boba Fett minifig. I will also say that I did end up missing a 2x6 light gray piece that went on one of the wing/flaps, but I don't hold that against the set as much I do Lego for quality assurance. Plus it's not like I don't have plenty of lego pieces to replace it. Overall, while there are a few small nitpicks with the set, like the Boba minifig and the stickers, the overall design of the set really makes this a worthwhile addition to your collection. It really looks great on display. Just be sure you set aside plenty of time to build it. While the assembly wasn't difficult, it took me about 9-11 hours to build. ... show more
