FANTASTIC! Installed 2 of these by myself with no AC experience. What I do have is tools and knowledge and Youtube. I purchased 200 worth of ac install equipment plus the wiring, conduit, line set covers, and breakers to complete the install. We haven't tested the AC yet but it heats our addition quickly, quietly, and efficiently! First couple of days it was in use, we had lows of about 20 degrees and it performed great. I would say this is moderate to slightly high skill set on the DIY scale. A friend with HVAC experience helped me and I didn't have half the tools that he used... Copper bender, cutter, wall fishing tool for the wire etc. and a vacuum to evacuate the line to ensure long-term use. I love how this heat pump produces heat at 18 Degrees. I just installed it in my 800 sf garage to apartment conversion. I had a company install it for a reasonable fee. I did the electrical. It's currently heating the space before I drywall it. I have 2 more different sizes here to install in 2 other spaces that currently have baseboard heat. I generally only use Goodman products because I have had all my jobs use goodman for the last 20 years. That includes over 200 homes. I cannot believe how quiet the unit is on the inside and outside. System works very well. I install many types of mini splits. I have worked in the hvac field for many years. I rate this mini split just as high as I would any of the higher end systems. Had it installed by an AC repairman. After about three hours it was ready to run. Both the inside and outside unit is very quiet. Cools and heats a 600 sq ft room really well. The only thing I wish it displayed was the current temperature in the room on either the remote or unit. The unit has four speeds,eco,s m f and turbo. I installed this unit per instructions , And it would not turn on. Light flashing, indicating something is wrong with it. After Spending hours just trying to find information on the proper use of the remote to diagnose the unit I’m over it . model numbers don’t get you anywhere. Can’t get to fault codes. Rechecked everything , Supposed to be fuses and the unit but after examination, I don’t want to take it apart. They talk like these units are a breeze to install, but bending copper tubing without crimping, it is not an easy task with limited space to do it. So I can’t even force start it to pump the Freon back into the condenser . This is a replacement unit for one I installed a couple of years ago that really wasn’t large enough ... show more
