  • So good!
Oh, this book could've gone so many ways. I kept waiting for the twist I thought was sure to come. And well it didn't. I'm going to blame my darker side for that. Just because I was waiting for something doesn't mean i didn't absolutely love this book because i really did. EVEN if there wasn't but a blip of Teddy. We find out just where Cree went during the bonfire. He met a girl they had a crazy night together and a year later he's not seen her. She shows up at the coffee shop looking for her tutor. And well not one to let a good thing go he tells her he's her tutor. Good thing the guy is smart. He tells her he remembers her and she's like oh that's cool all while not knowing what he's talking about. I don't blame her for it either. I would've done the same thing. Cree is such a good guy and he's really what Ophelia needs. They compliment each other so well. While things did take a twist towards the end it wasn't what I thought it would be and it didn't exactly evolve them. Obviously, it does but it doesn't. I really hope we get a book regarding that twist. Like I really need it. This series is absolutely everything and I can't recommend it enough. You don't have to read the books in order jump in wherever you want. I promise you won't be sorry. ... show more

  • beautiful story
The characters, relatable. The plot, emotional, spicy and raw. Everything about this book was just absolutely perfect. From the very first page it draws you into the lives of two complete strangers who pretend to be someone else just for a night. Ophelia is one of those characters I instantly connected with. She just wants to be independent and taken seriously. But the voices in her head keep her from making real relationships. Which I know personally is such a daunting task. Her strength and courage was such an incredible thing to read. I could not stop smiling every time I read Cree’s POV. He is just a laidback person who cares for everyone. His easygoing personality and attentiveness to Ophelia’s needs made me burst at the seams with happiness. Ophelia’s character resonated with me as I have a younger brother who happens to have autism. Growing up I would hear our parents say things like “oh, he’s autistic” to explain his behavior and that would drive me crazy. I completely understand what she was she was going through and could feel her frustration. Ophelia is depicted in such an astonishing way and I fell completely in love with both her and Cree. ... show more

  • It's Always the Quiet Ones
It's always the quiet ones hehe. Having read the previous books in The Boy series, I was always interested in Cree. He was the boy in the background and I could tell there was more to him. In Good Guys Don't Lie, it was Cree's turn to shine. I like how Cree knew what or shall I say who he wanted and that was Ophelia. Though their relationship didn't start out as it should, it was all with good intentions and seeing how it progressed from strangers to friends to more was sweet. It may seem that the popular jock and the quiet girl wouldn't get along but Cree and Ophelia fit perfectly together. I loved how they brought out the best in each other. Cree was able to be his nerdy silly self and Ophelia was able to come out of her shell. I loved their quirks and dorky sides as well as their sweet and sensual. It was great. These two were just so cute. I enjoyed reading them together. I also loved the views of friendships on both Cree's side and Ophelia's. It was good to see those bonds. The teasers that Micalea dropped between Jude and Millie-ooh I can't wait. Overall, Good Guys Don't Lie was a fantastic read with awesome characters. ... show more

  • Life, Love, and all the emotions of those struggling with their place in this world
I never connected so emotionally as I did with Ophelia. As my family has not been left untouched when it comes to autism, emotional "dysfunction", and just dancing to our own drummer. I cried tears of understanding along with Ophelia. If you have no experience with emotional health you may not get the day to day struggle. I have a new appreciation for the thoughts that must race through so many beautiful yet ignored and misunderstood minds. Ophelia has autism and feels that is the only thing that defines her. She needs help in an important college course and enlists the help of a tutor. Cree has been searching for the woman of his dreams whom he met last year and feels that he has found her when Ophelia approaches him looking for her tutor. Though based on lies, their friendship grows daily and into something so much more but when truths are revealed can their tender relationship withstand the onslaught of reality? You will laugh, You will cry and You will see a whole new side of what emotional obstacles can mean and how they make or break you. ... show more

  • Micalea Does It Again!
I don't know how but Micalea manages to make each book in this series better than the last. 5/5 spicy hockey stars! Ophelia is about to fail a class she NEEDS to pass to graduate. This leads her to Cree, our resident hockey star turned tutor. There's a case of mistaken identity when he recognizes her as the girl he's been looking for after connecting with her at a party a year ago. When she thinks he's her tutor he can't say no...although for some reason she doesn't remember him. Cree is an absolutely wonderful hero and so sweet and patient with Ophelia. As she suffers from autism, it's tough for her to pick things up quickly and be outgoing in social situations. He opens her heart right up with his adorable dimples and spiciness in the bedroom ooo la la. When I say he's a gentleman in the streets and a freak in the sheets omg. I'm also a big hockey fan so seeing the hints of it here and there were super nice. The side characters were wonderful and I loved the cameos from past characters in the series. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and CANNOT WAIT for Daire and Rosie's book as well as Jude and Millie's! ... show more
