I got this for my husband to use on the side by side to hold his iPhone. It will NOT hold it with his Otter Box case on it! We tried it without the case and it works beautifully, but the whole point of having a case is to protect the phone and it fell right off at the first tree root we hit.

I have purchased three of these magnets and this is the best. It has a rubberized mount on the side away from the phone so you don't have to worry about scratching furniture. However, the connection is very strong and will not move without significant effort. The phone side has a magnet sized with a MagSafe case. The magnet is only on the circumference of the circle and not on the interior. One of the reviewers complained that it did not work with a case. If she had a MagSafe designed case, she would fine that it works perfectly. The magnet on the phone side is also strong and there is no concern about it dropping the phone. The device is small and attractive with chrome highlights. It pivots on a ball bearing so that the direction of the phone can be adjusted. Highly recommended.
