I am not the handiest of men, so when I told my family I was going to cut the fallen trees and branches for a two-mile stretch of the Nottley River that had made several spots nearly impassable for our kayaks. Nobody believed me. How could this be done? They asked. Impossible! (for you).Too much for any one man to do. They shouted! My wife thought I’d lose a hand. But here I am typing with both hands and the river is clear. I had the perfect tool, a chainsaw I could use easily with one hand! Will it work? Will it be powerful enough? Will it be sturdy enough? It must! My reputation depends on it! Instructions and set up. I’m not the studious type either. I’m going to do a quick overview of the bold text in the phamplet and get to it. If it is not intuitive enough to set up and use. It’s not for me. I took this out of the box. Plugged in the batteries. Used the saw the next morning. Performance was really good. Went through many very large branches, some nearly twice the length of the blade. It sliced right through medium and thinner branches. Easy to use one-handed and steady myself with the other. Around the forth or fifth hour of straight use the chain began to slip off pretty frequently. Until then it did not slip at all. Absolutely could have been a user error. As I said, I didn’t read the instructions. But it became a pain. I’m impressed with the quality of this saw especially at the price. Mine gets plenty of use off the river too. I’d buy it again and I did buy a second to give as a gift. Have this.

Product is durable and tough makes quick work for trimming and pruning jobs. Had one issue with it but the problem was professionally and very quickly fixed with results beyond my expectations. I will, with out a doubt buy from this company again.

I love this product, but there are several things that I dislike about it. Here's what no one else tells you: it's not quite as powerful as I'd hoped. I'm cutting through quarter-sized-diameter honeysuckle bush branches and it's taking longer than I thought, or else honeysuckle is immensely dense wood; perhaps both. EDIT: Yes, honeysuckle is very dense but it's got to go! Once I've cut through a few of those, after about an hour, the chain is then loose and MUST be tightened or bad things would ensue. Common sense tells me this even if it's in the directions. Which, by the way, are AWFUL! That's the second thing. They make no sense. There are big steps missing from it; I had to take the whole thing to a mechanically-inclined friend to assemble it for me. He agreed that there were steps missing so it wasn't just me. Taking another star away from my review of it because "to tighten the blade, turn the screw clockwise" is impossible unless one is super-strength. The screw is too hard to turn with 68-year-old fingers. (The 80 year-old reviewer who thought it was so easy must have also been a weight-lifter!) Even holding the screwdriver down (so it won't get stripped) and then gripping the handle of the screwdriver with big pliers in the other hand, doesn't budge it. If I have to take this to a friend to tighten every time, that sort of negates its usefulness to me. EDIT: I was able to remove the screw on the top of the cover; once the saw chain assembly was exposed, I was able to tighten the chain because the screw that needed turning was more accessable. Go me, for solving the problem! Finally, the case. The case fits the parts and items that are being sent. It does NOT fit the assembled saw. Not in any way; not even with the battery pack off of it. That's ridiculous! Once it's assembled, you have a nice hard plastic case that fits....nothing. A little more thought in the design of the case would allow both. I am a designer and it's NOT THAT HARD to do good product design! I'm glad I have it but for those who are older and not terribly strong, these are serious drawbacks!
