Hubby and I tried our hand at a big DIY - building a brick fireplace wall. We bought this insert to finish off this awesome project, and couldn't be happier with it. The fit is perfect, the wood and ice options are a nice extra, and the flames are as ridiculously real as you can get. You cannot tell its electric at all. It's so beautiful that I find myself turning it on every time im on the main floor of the house. With it being summertime, we haven't fired up the heat outside of initially playing with the unit, but I can tell the supplemental heat this winter is going to be so nice! All in all a great unit at a great price. Very happy we went with this model! Just do something about the annoying beep. Nobody needs that feature.     • Extremely loud beeps when changing settings

I love the look of this fireplace. The different colors are great for different moods. The heater works great! But, I am not sure why but the are really loud beeps when you change settings either with the remote or the front panel. This makes is hard to turn the unit on or off after the kids or the wife go to sleep. Please tell me there is a way to disconnect the beeper. ... show more

    • Heater doesn’t work nor does the fire now
The fire is beautiful but The heater and fan won’t turn on- called to explain but that was no help at all there was no one with any knowledge just the prime operator who is not Familiar with this product and could not find the number for me to call someone not a happy customer 😢 well this is the second review on my replacement - same issue only now fire doesn't even work- There's noone to call with this issue unfortunatly. To bad because i now have a hole in my wall with no replacement very costly and dissappointing ... show more

Ordered this fireplace after a lot of online research - was not disappointed. The fireplace looks great installed and has great flame action. Installation is simple and straight forward. Once installed I turned it on and there was a tap tap about every 3 seconds. I live in the Middle East so I am not close to a repair facility and the cost of shipping was as much as the fireplace. I reached out to GMHome customer support and explained the situation. Grace was amazing and assured me that they would take care of the problem whatever it took, including, if needed, shipping me a new unit at their cost. After taking a video of the fireplace so they could hear the tap tap sound, their technicians came up with a possible solution. They provided great instructions on how I could open up the fireplace and look for myself...take pictures and send them back for more information if needed. It turned out that the fix was as simple as moving a couple wiring nuts out of the way of the rotating bar - took me 15 minutes and now everything runs perfect. I was happy that they were willing to let me open up the fireplace without voiding the warranty and that they were so supportive. I let them know that everything is fixed and they responded with a $15 credit for my efforts. Maybe not so great for someone who doesn't feel comfortable doing this, but for me...out in the middle of nowhere...it was a great solution! Easy to install. Flame lighting options are nice and a good selection. I like the option to have faux wood or crystals for the bed of the flames. Heat is comparable to a regular space heater and would work well for a small space however our first floor is open concept and very large but it still feels nice to sit close by to warm up! You’ll be happy with this fireplace! ... show more

Received and installed product. The heat/blower was inoperable. Had to purchase another. Replacement (same item) works perfectly. Realized amazon sold me a used lemon item without listing it as used.

    • How to turn off the heater

This product looks great and the flame colors look wonderful but it is hard to turn off. You can’t use the remote to turn it off. I think I have figured out the process by using the buttons on the front of the fireplace. First you turn the heater button to LL then you turn the temperature button to 62. That should cause the heater to turn off. You will hear a click and once the fan is blowing cool air it will then shut off. This shouldn’t be that hard to turn off the heat. The remote needs to be better too as mine won’t go below 68 when setting the temperature. Sometime the fireplace will just increase the temperature without my intervention. ... show more
