If you like the Rustic Farmhouse look you will love the color. This came with no damages, no scratches nothing at all damaged. I read the reviews after I ordered and was worried about if it would be damaged when it arrived. My husband put it together in about two and half hours and a half an hour of that was unpacking and making sure that it had no damages and sorting all the pieces. He did say the manual is great it was easy step by step putting it together. I read where people had doors that didn't fit properly, holes that wasn't drilled properly, that there is a clicking sound when you turn on the fireplace. We have none of these issues. The heater works great, plug it directly into an outlet not a surge protector. If it is plug into a surge protector, it is harder on the on the fireplace and will eventually damage it. It is very solid and even though the wood is man made it looks like real solid wood and heavy. He left two stickers on it, because of the horror stories I read about the finish peeling off. Both stickers came off easy with no damage. I don't know where some of these bad reviews are coming from, because mine came in perfect. looks and heats great. Although I brought this from Amazon. There is the company number right on the front of the manual. I called the company instead of Amazon. I read reviews about the company that were bad. I had a question about surge protector, this is how I found out about it can damage the fireplace. they answered the phone call quickly and was so very nice. Don't hesitate to buy it. The box arrived early and was handled with care. The box was heavy and awkward so decided to slide it to get it in our house. The instructions were easy to follow and the online video was a nice double reference. All the parts are labeled including the hardware. The instructions state to only use a hand screwdriver. It was a lot of screws to do manually. It was helpful to have a traditional screwdriver and a mini for tight spaces. The instructions state to have two people, I was able to assemble on my own. They say it takes approximately 2 hours to assemble. I don’t know what superhuman contractor was used to estimate this amount of time. It was over 150 screws and or cam locks to manually screw into holes that were very shallow. The most annoying part was the cam locks. Some of the holes were slightly large so the cam locks were twisting or falling out. Overall it was easy to put together but after a few hours I was over it. The product is nice and sturdy. It does not get as hot as I anticipated it is more like a small space heater. We are enjoying it so far and it a nice looking piece for the $125 we paid. ... show more

I've now owned this for close to a year. I added a star. The finish still looks fine (again no small children). I still love having the flames on. Didn't use the heat feature at all last winter (it's cold where I live and would cost a small fortune to use electric heat). Love the ambiance the flames provide though. The clicking noise that I was referring to seemed to go away, I'm not sure what that was about, but I turn the flames (no heat) on every single evening (even in summer) and no clicking noise. I've had this for about a month. So far I really like it. I haven't tried the heat feature yet other than to make sure it works. I turn on just the flames (no heat) in the evening and find it very relaxing. I realize this is not an expensive piece of furniture by any stretch. The finish is pretty flimsy. I don't see this being much of an issue in my house as I don't have small children and I'm not rough on things. It does scratch easily though so be aware when assembling it. I found assembly pretty easy, it took just just me a couple hours though, there are lots of pieces. Just read the instructions closely. I have assembled lots of furniture for myself though so didn't find it difficult or confusing....a couple places where I had to be careful with the instructions and look really closely at them. The fireplace piece does make a faint clicking noise when I turn it on...has not been a problem so far, but hopefully it won't get worse. I don't see it as an issue that would make me try to return as long as it doesn't get any worse. There is no police/fire scanner feature as stated in the description (LOL, I wasn't expecting it) but maybe the seller should update their description. It's a bit out of left field. I feel like it's a decent buy for the price and quality is about what I was expecting. I do expect the fireplace piece to last a long while though so will update my review accordingly. I'm going to give it three stars to start out just because the fireplace insert is already making a clicking noise and I've only had it for a month. And also the finish really is flimsy it seems almost like bad contact paper or something....I really think they could do better with that. ... show more
