The GlocalMe UPP has been an excellent travel hotspot for me and an easy 5‑star device. It’s convenient to land in a new place, power it on, and have data without hunting for a local SIM or dealing with roaming—just activate through the app and go. Performance has been reliably good for typical travel use. It connects quickly, switches between local networks automatically using Cloud SIM, and I’ve been able to keep multiple devices (phones, tablets, a laptop) online at once without babysitting it. The included 60GB US data and 12GB global data give you a generous head start before you even think about buying more. What I liked: Truly pocket‑sized hotspot that works in 200+ countries with no physical SIM required. Easy app-based data management with flexible pay‑as‑you‑go packages after the included data. Can share Wi‑Fi with up to 8 devices at once, great for families or multiple gadgets. Solid battery life (up to around a workday of use) in a lightweight device that’s simple to toss in a bag or pocket. I bought this portable wifi to use in Jamaica on vacation. Currently, it works very well, just needs to be charged daily so keep a portable charger with you at all times to boost it up! It was pretty easy to set up and the password is conveniently printed on the back of the device...which makes it very easy for me! It has worked inside the house and out on the street so good signal strength...it is even more reliable than the WiFi in the house! Considering that this is portable and usable in over 200 countries, the possibilities are limitless and that makes the price well worth it!

Picked this up before an international trip where I needed reliable data for work without paying carrier international rates or hunting for local SIM cards at every destination. The no-SIM approach is what makes it genuinely convenient — powered on, connected, working within a few minutes of landing without any setup beyond the initial account registration. 60GB US data is more than enough for extended domestic use between trips. The 12GB global data covered a two week international itinerary with reasonable usage — video calls, navigation, email, and light streaming — with data remaining at the end. Topping up through the app is straightforward if you need more. 200+ country coverage held up across every destination on the trip. Signal quality varied by location as expected but the connection was present and functional everywhere I needed it, including rural areas where I expected it to drop off entirely. Eight device connection handled a travel group sharing the hotspot without meaningful speed degradation for standard use cases. Battery life ran about eight hours of continuous hotspot use before needing a charge, which covered full travel days without reaching for a power bank. No contract is the feature that makes this the right choice over a travel SIM plan — use it when you need it, no ongoing commitment when you don't. One honest note: speeds are adequate rather than fast. Streaming video works but you're not getting home broadband performance. For work tasks and communication it's more than sufficient. A reliable travel companion that removed the connectivity anxiety from an international trip entirely.

Now that the kids are getting older, their interests are starting to diverge. We try to do everything together as a family when traveling, but there are times when we want to split up. For that reason, I decided that we needed another hotspot. GlocalMe devices are pretty easy to setup and this is no exception. You turn it on, connect to the WiFi using the credentials printed on the sticker in the back, then choose a data plan. You get the convenience of near instant connectivity and the advantage of the device being able to hop onto the fastest network (you're not locked to a single provider). This hotspot works well and is powerful enough to provide data to up to eight devices. It looks plain and thin and can be mistaken for a power pack. Battery life is good, with a color LED to tell you how much battery life is left. Wi-Fi signal strength is strong from across a large room and you get true 4G data speeds. For better value, pop in a local SIM and be sure that it is the ancient micro SIM variety (or get an adapter), otherwise you may be paying higher data rates. It's nice that the free data is attached to the device and there is no fuss to get it added. If you do have any issues however, support answers quickly via live chat within the app. Good value, especially if you take advantage of all of the free data.
